Chapter 1172: Chapter 507: Fireworks Academy (Part 2)

Now she can speak to Laine in such a good manner because she has a lot of respect for him.

”I see, I understand,” Laine chose to compromise on this issue and proactively said, ”I will not contact the Wood Elves to join the attack on Musillon.”

”Great! By then, a unit of my Holy Grail Guards responsible for protecting me and myself leading the Lake God Prophet will also participate in the battle.” Mogiana was very pleased with Laine’s compromise, her expression improved significantly, and the Lake God Witch continued, ”Tonight, you and Surya should stay over here.”

”Surya, what’s your opinion?” Laine felt a stir in his heart and turned to ask Surya’s views.

”Then let’s stay over,” Surya looked at Laine with a half-smile, then glanced at Mogiana, ”I think Laine, if you stay, Her Highness Mogiana will be very happy.”

The atmosphere at the dining table gradually turned strange, both Laine and Mogiana felt a bit embarrassed, while Surya naturally knew about the relationship between Laine and Mogiana. During the Winter Festival turkey banquet, Mogiana had also signed the ”covenant”, naturally aligning with internal competition and external exclusion consensus.

Today, hearing Laine was coming, Mogiana naturally spent quite a bit of time dressing up; smart Surya noticed this too.

To prevent the atmosphere from becoming more awkward, Laine changed the topic. He placed the silver knife and fork on the plate and smoothly asked, ”By the way, earlier you mentioned something important you need to tell me. What is it?”

”...Wait a moment.” Mogiana stood and walked out.

Laine and Surya exchanged a puzzled glance.

After a while, Mogiana returned with a scroll of parchment. The Lake God Witch handed the parchment to Laine: ”Take a look, Laine, this is Richard’s application sent to me.”

Laine took the parchment and began to read it carefully.

Richard used the authority of the King to issue a diplomatic note to the Empire, preparing to borrow a contingent composed of approximately five thousand troops under the alliance name, equipped with a large number of heavy firearms, partially composed of Dwarves and elite Infantry.

This contingent called ”Fireworks Academy,” led by the famous Imperial General Dietrich and his Deputy General Boris von Rukov, is equipped with many firearms used for conquering fortresses, including Cannons, Hellstorm Rocket Cannons, and Mortars, along with several elite Infantry units from Nuer and a Musket Battalion, as well as a group of Dwarf Butchers accompanying them.

Richard hopes Brittania will borrow this army to help Lorne attack Musillon, promising a large sum of money to the Empire afterward as a gesture of goodwill.

Indirectly, this is hiring Mercenaries, though Richard is borrowing under the guise of alliance.

”Laine,” Surya looked worriedly at her husband after glancing at the parchment.

”Hahahahaha~” Laine didn’t mind, he laughed aloud and shook his head repeatedly, ”It seems, after all my efforts, the Kingdom’s nobles have learned from my ways.”

Mogiana sat down, somewhat hesitant, ”Laine, what I want to say is, I can’t refuse this application because...”

”Because I’ve done the same thing, right?” Laine seemed entirely unaffected, smiling as he said, ”No problem, you should approve it.”

”If I don’t even have this level of confidence, what qualifications do I have to compete for the King?”

After receiving a clear answer from Laine, Mogiana breathed a sigh of relief, a smile blossoming on the face of the Lake God Witch: ”That’s good, if nothing unexpected happens, next year Lorne will again gather the Knightly Army to attack Musillon.”

The Lady Knight wore a look of pride; this is the hero in her heart, her husband, the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy, Laine Macado.

After dinner, Laine, Surya, and Mogiana strolled around the valley.

In summer, the air gradually became dry and hot, the plants in the valley grew lushly, despite the thick fog obscuring them, the night breeze still brushed the face.

Laine reported a series of events from the Estalia trip to Mogiana and also mentioned them to Surya; many interesting events occurred during the journey, especially those involving Alfred, causing both Surya and Mogiana to cover their mouths and chuckle.

Mogiana, like Surya, held Laine’s arm; the Lake God Witch closed her eyes, indeed liking being with Laine, not just for the clean aura that made Casters immensely comfortable, but more importantly, being with Laine brought her joy and relaxation, naturally not lacking in intimate contact.

Mm, it would be even better if Surya hadn’t come, a little thought crossed Mogiana’s mind.

”Speaking of which, Surya, Mogiana, the tale of a female server successfully marrying into nobility is true, and it’s right before you. Wasn’t it said earlier that the Deputy General of the Fireworks Academy is called Boris von Rukov?” Laine suddenly recalled an interesting story, speaking relaxedly: ”Do you know the background of this person?”

Mogiana wasn’t particularly interested or knowledgeable about matters of the Empire; the Lake God Witch shook her head.

Surya, due to Laine’s good relationships with the Empire, knew quite a bit. The Lady Knight thought for a moment, ”Wait, von Rukov? What is the relationship between him and the Wolfen Prince-Elector and Grand Duke of Oster, Vamil von Rukov?”

”They’re father and son.” Laine laughed, ”Boris von Rukov is the illegitimate son of Vamil von Rukov, and his mother was a female server at the Brunswick Royal Hotel.”

Indeed, it was a very interesting typical Cinderella story, recounted and sung by countless Minstrels many times.

Over thirty years ago, when Vamil von Rukov was the Grand Master of the Bull Knight Order and went to the Imperial Capital Brunswick to report, he encountered a beautiful female server, Anastasia, at the Brunswick Royal State Guesthouse.

Their love’s fruit was Boris von Rukov, the only one among Vamil Prince-Elector’s ten illegitimate children who was recognized and permitted to use the von Rukov surname.

Additionally, Vamil Prince-Elector had many lovers, including a Jialan Witch and a female ambassador from Kislev stationed in Oster Territory, all public, perhaps more that were undisclosed.

Besides, Vamil Prince-Elector was also married; his wife’s name was Ivana, a typical political marriage, but similar to Surya and Laine’s political marriage, with feelings quite decent, Ivana also bore him two sons, namely Oleg von Rukov and Vasily von Rukov.

Oleg von Rukov had met with Laine several times, having quite congenial conversations, maintaining correspondence.

With Anastasia’s successful example, Laine had no disdain toward the dream of female servers, he merely continued the story: ”Evidently, even if recognized, Boris von Rukov could never have inheritance rights. In fact, before he reached adulthood, Lord Vamil sent him to the Nuer Gunpowder Academy for study. With outstanding accomplishments, this illegitimate child quickly became a formal soldier of Nuer, then a mercenary, until he became a Deputy General of a corps, all within a few years.”

”A courageous and skillful General, if Lorne’s Knightly Army can cooperate well with this army, perhaps there will be a chance to conquer Musillon.” Mogiana was still thinking about Musillon.

”Indeed,” Laine calmly nodded, so he decided next year he must send troops to Musillon.

The young Count suddenly felt that the current situation was very similar to a historical incident he had read about in his previous life.

That was the ancient agreement.

He who first enters the central plains shall be King!
