Chapter 1152: Chapter 499: Crok’s Revival (Part 3)

”Oh my~ Oh my~ By my Lady of Wealth.” Hadrian, the president of the Luigi Commerce Association, was cautiously proceeding towards Itaza under the escort of a large group of fierce Lizardman infantry and a Spirit Lizard Priest. Gazing at the majestic group of giant pyramids, this great merchant from the Southern Realm was so astonished that he felt a bit numb.

The grand avenue leading to Itaza stretches for over a dozen kilometers, serving as the main artery of the entire city. Lining the road are enormous lizard statues, and the invited guests like Hadrian were deeply impressed by these silent and immobile sentinels, as their towering figures constantly monitored the mortals passing below. The bases of the roadside statues remain still, yet their heads slowly moved, fixing their unblinking gaze on those who passed by, with winding swamps on both sides of the street.

Hadrian suddenly realized the insignificance and fragility of humans. Perhaps what humanity considers powerful is negligible in front of these races. The great merchant swallowed a mouthful of saliva, setting his sights on the top of a nearby pyramid.

A laser beam several meters thick shot out from the top of the pyramid, piercing towards the sky.

”Please follow me, esteemed guest.” The Spirit Lizard Priest immediately prompted as he saw Hadrian halt: ”Great Lord Mazda Moody and the guests are waiting for you.”

”Yes... yes!” Hadrian hastily signaled his entourage to continue advancing.

This time he came to deliver wine.

Thirty minutes later.

Within the grand pyramid of Itaza, the Master of Humans was savoring the finest wines of this world together with the Primarch of the Emperor’s Sons and the Primarch of the Raven Guard.

The Emperor’s handsome face couldn’t help but bear a pale hue. The power required to resurrect Venerable Crok was exceedingly immense, so immense that even the Emperor was greatly exhausted. The power of this First Generation Demon Toad was akin to that of the former Imperial Chancellor Marcardo.

Fugen looked at his father’s complexion with some concern until he confirmed that the Emperor was simply over-exhausted, then he slightly relaxed, taking a full barrel of ”Lysa Lus” wine from Hadrian’s hands. Fugen filled three enamel cups: ”Father, Clarkson.”

”In the eternity of twilight, only wine is not to be missed.” The Master of Humans took the wine cup, carefully savoring the bright red wine within, and his usually cold face showed a hint of warmth: ”I remember in Terra’s 2K era, whether rich or poor, people had the opportunity to enjoy wine, but today, only the most esteemed, glorious, and wealthy families have the chance to taste a tiny cup of wine.”

The Emperor had a fondness for good wine, a secret known to only a few. Those Primarchs and Imperial Guards who fought the stars alongside him in the past still clearly remember the Emperor’s fondness for fine wine, including Fugen and Clarkson. In fact, every time the Emperor visited, he would move many bottles of wine from Laine’s cellar.

”Laine’s wife Surya’s family produces the Old World’s finest wines, and these barrels of Lysa Lus, I obtained them with great difficulty through Laine’s connections.” Fugen raised his own wine cup towards Clarkson: ”Do you remember the last time we had a drink together?”

”Back when you weren’t a traitor,” Clarkson closed his eyes, letting the wine flow down his throat, savoring the wonder within.

”My legion used to have the master winemakers of Terra’s top aristocratic families, but sadly, my collection is now all in the Eye of Fear, and almost all have gone bad.” Fugen reminisced about past glories and lightly sighed: ”If given the chance, I must re-establish my winemaking team.”

The Primarchs enjoyed good wine too.

”Fugen, tomorrow Clarkson and I will leave here.” The Emperor said calmly, holding the wine cup: ”The resurrection of Venerable Crok will inevitably attract countless powerful enemies, and by then, the protective barrier can no longer conceal the magic wind generated by his revival. Your task is to guard Crok until he is completely resurrected.”

”Father, where are you going next?” Fugen acknowledged his understanding.

”Next, I will go to Nuer in the Old World to visit a pregnant woman. The child in her womb is Laine’s, and I must go see them.” The Emperor nodded: ”Then I will take Lorgar back to Terra.”

”Understood.”
