Chapter 1169: Chapter 506: First Meeting (2)

As soon as the words were out, the Dark Elf impatiently said, ”Master, are you done? I want to go in.”

”Okay.” Nord realized he had indeed spoken a bit too much.

Because Juan Carlos the Sun Watcher and all his subordinates were different!

This young man possessed spiritual talent!

...I Am the Possessor of Spiritual Talent...

Upon entering the wine estate, Nord sent Ollica to rest first. He noticed that Surya’s maid, his head maid Sylvia, was busy taking notes in Brittania noble women’s clothing. The very serious Sylvia was also twenty-four this year. Seeing Nord enter, Sylvia immediately got up: ”Count, you’ve returned?”

”Yes, I’m back. Where’s Surya?” Nord took off his robe and hung it on the coat rack.

”The lady is waiting for you on the second floor, Mr. Armand and Mr. Angerong are also there.” Sylvia didn’t know why her cheeks turned red upon seeing Nord. Her spirited face and purple eyes first stared at Nord, then noticed Juan behind him: ”Who is this?”

”Allow me to introduce. This is Juan Carlos the Sun Watcher, Duke Rubio-the Sun Watcher’s legitimate son from Estalia, a formal Flame Sun Knight, and now my subordinate.” Nord introduced with a smile.

Then Nord introduced Sylvia to Juan: ”This is my head maid, Sylvia.”

”Hello, Lady Sylvia.” Juan greeted immediately, but it was clear Sylvia wasn’t very enthusiastic about this outside knight. She picked up her things and said, ”Lady Surya is already waiting upstairs for you. Go on, I have matters to attend to.”

With that, Sylvia nodded towards Nord and left on her own.

”Let’s go.”

”Okay.”

Pushing open the door, cool air greeted them. Today, Surya wore a delicate long black iris formal gown, perfectly combining regal elegance with gentle softness. Sitting behind a desk, she was discussing something with Armand and Angerong. Seeing Nord enter, Surya stood up excitedly: ”Nord, you’re back?”

”Yes, I’m back. Let me introduce everyone...” Nord nodded with a smile, gently hugging Surya, and proceeded to introduce Juan to everyone in the room.

”Welcome, welcome, welcome to the new knight. Looks like my status here just got bumped down a notch,” laughed Holy Grail Knight Armand as he shook hands with Juan.

”No, no, no, I’m the lowest ranked in Laine Territory, no objections,” Angerong also laughed, shaking hands with Juan: ”Welcome, young Flame Sun Knight.”

”Juan is of noble birth, a new big shot. I, a country bumpkin from Nord, just feel inferior,” Nord joined with a cheerful smile: ”Becoming a formal knight at eighteen, impressive. Guess I’ll be the only rookie left here.”

”I wouldn’t dare.” Juan couldn’t help but feel a bit pleased faced with everyone’s flattery. At eighteen, he had every reason to be proud, having independently completed the War Goddess Academy’s knight courses and becoming a Flame Sun Knight—an achievement few could match at that age.

A brief introduction, and both Angerong and Armand stood up to bid farewell. Surya also arranged for a maid to settle Juan in a town inn. Once everything was arranged, the young knight and his escort, the servant corps, would be given a house for their living arrangements.

With everyone gone, only the couple remained. Nord then sat down, trying to please: ”My lady, what were my brother and Armand discussing with you?”

”Oh? Nord, you care about this?” Surya elegantly lifted the red tea on the table, sipping with slightly upturned cherry-red lips: ”I wanted to ask you how your journey was with Ollica and Lady Veronica?”

The lady knight’s words carried a slight touch of jealousy. She had hoped to join Nord, treating it as a holiday, but knowing someone had to be present during the spring planting season on the territory, Nord decided not to bring her.

This made Nord a bit guilty; throughout the trip, he had enjoyed plenty of company.

Amelia’s pregnancy had raised Surya’s sense of threat; she clearly wasn’t pleased with Nord’s three-week trip to Estalia. But Surya was always gentle and considerate; she sighed, walked around from behind the desk, sat opposite Nord, crossed her long legs in black sheer pantyhose, and continued: ”Actually, it’s nothing much, just the granary is nearly full.”

”The granary nearly full?” Nord felt it sounded humorous.

”Yes, the territory’s abundant grain has nearly filled the granary completely. By this year’s autumn harvest, the grain we receive will overfill the granary,” Surya also shared this blissful worry, continuing: ”There are two opinions in the territory now. The first is to distribute the excess grain to the peasants and donate it to the local Church, which would accelerate population growth and improve peasant work efficiency—this is Angerong’s brother’s idea.”

”And the second opinion is surely grain export?” At Nord’s level, he naturally knew the second opinion: ”Hard to imagine, this could be Armand’s opinion.”

In Nord’s memory, Armand was a just, head-down-practicing and praying sort of guy, who tackled issues with direct martial valor.
