Chapter 1159: Chapter 502: Bloody Battle at Starlight Bridge

Fugen did not answer the question from the Great Demon of Slaanesh before him, but he quickly realized that the opponent was actually a Demon Prince.

The Demon Prince who ascended from mortals, Azazel.

The story of this Demon Prince spreads in the mortal world, and to this day, atop the Chaos Wasteland, there remains a Chaos Rune Stone belonging to him, recording his tale of demon ascension.

Azazel was the brother-in-law of Charlemagne, the Emperor of the Empire!

He was once a renowned warrior, born into the Gallorin Tribe, originally named Grielon, and together with his twin brother, they swore allegiance to Charley, the leader of the Gallorin Tribe.

However, in the campaign against the Green Skins, Grielon’s twin brother heroically died in battle, while he himself was refused participation by Charlemagne due to injuries sustained in a previous campaign. Upon hearing the news of his brother’s death, the grief-stricken Grielon decided to seek revenge on Charlemagne. Guided by a witch’s prophecy, he feigned forgiveness and swore loyalty to Charley, deceptively befriending him. Due to his unparalleled swordsmanship, he quickly became an important member among Gallorin’s Knight Squires.

Grielon was once moved by Charlemagne’s great vision and grand blueprint. More than once, he doubted whether his vow of vengeance was correct, wondering whether he should continue his revenge. However, the corruption from Chaos gradually eroded his heart. When his sister decided to marry Charlemagne, this brother-in-law could no longer contain his desire for revenge. He used a blade to pierce Charlemagne’s chest at the wedding and nearly claimed the future Human Emperor’s life.

Afterward, Grielon fled northwards in a frenzy until he reached the Chaos Wasteland. The Gods of Chaos were pleased with his actions. The Prince of Joy, Slaanesh, bestowed upon him a new name—Azazel and elevated him to a demon, making him the supreme commander of Slaanesh’s Demon Army.

”Not answering? No problem.” Azazel let his tongue, bearing six silver rings, slip out. His bull-like face was full of joy, even somewhat deranged: ”Ah, you are just so beautiful. I want to peel off your skin and make the most beautiful leather bag. I want to cut off all your hair and embroider a perfect military banner.”

Having said that, Azazel trembled with excitement, shrieking, ”Ah! This duel is so thrilling! I can’t take it! I’ve gone! Oh oh oh~”

Fugen squinted his eyes, the Primarch of the Emperor’s Sons felt provoked, gritting his teeth as he remembered that he was once a part of this band of lunatics.

Strangely, this Slaanesh Demon Prince didn’t recognize him. Fugen immediately concluded that something was concealing the demon’s perception.

Then let there be battle!

The golden power sword spun, striking directly at the Slaanesh Demon!

Fugen’s sword was as swift as a golden phantom, and Azazel showed a solemn expression upon seeing it.

The Demon Prince opened his enormous mouth and spewed a purple mist. Demon incense, capable of driving mortals insane in an instant, engulfed Fugen’s figure. A claw clamp and a serpent-shaped curved sword positioned themselves above and below. Azazel immediately displayed his power, his minions comprised of countless souls, and this beautiful human before him would be the next!

A golden flash occurred, and to Azazel’s incredulous eyes, the purple mist was cleaved in two. Fugen’s bright eyes radiated anger, and with the golden power sword Glory, he tore apart Azazel’s mist, broke through his defenses, and in the clash between blade and claw clamp, dazzling sparks traveled upward along the claw clamp, leaving a deep, bone-revealing scar on Azazel’s arm!

”Ahhhh!” Azazel shrieked in retreat, the Slaanesh Demon Prince falling into a frenzy: ”You dare damage my flawless, alabaster delicate skin! You will pay for this!”

”Hypocrisy!” Fugen whispered.

Gold and purple powers began a full-scale confrontation.

At that moment, the Ash Legion was fully resisting the Chaos Demons’ assault. Human soldiers witnessed Legion Commander Fugen fiercely battling the leader of the Slaanesh’s Demon Army. They felt honored to fight alongside the Legion Commander, and the promised rewards from the Lizardmen for the aftermath fueled the human soldiers’ frenzy. Under the orders of Deputy Legion Commander Fernando Pilazzo, the soldiers formed tight ranks, fully resisting the demonic onslaught.

In a duel, each demon could easily kill several ordinary human soldiers. However, when these human soldiers united, not even demons could easily claim mortal lives. The tight shield array and spear array prepared for combat, and in the blink of an eye, the vanguard of the Khorne Legion and Slaanesh Army, rushing in, found themselves surrounded.

Regular longswords and long halberds could not pierce the demons’ hides, so the Ash Legion’s soldiers used their weapons as restraining tools. They called upon Walking Knights and Great Swordsmen, as only these expertly crafted knight’s swords and two-handed greatswords, after being charged, could vanquish these demons. As the Bloodsucker from Khorne screamed and charged into the human formation, artillery calculated precisely by Tiriel Engineers fired directly, severing one of its arms.

All along the hundreds of meters long battlefield, scenes of humans and demons clashing were everywhere. Facing destruction, mortals gathered unimaginable courage. As their shields shattered under the demons’ longswords and war axes, and when their long spears couldn’t penetrate the demons’ armor, human soldiers used their flesh to withstand the demons’ charge. Each soldier shouted the name of their deity, but the name called the most was that of the Legion Commander.
