Chapter 1156: Chapter 501: Defending Crok!

The Starlight Bridge is located several kilometers east of Itaza, once the main thoroughfare leading into Itaza. This place was named the Starlight Bridge not because there is an actual bridge here, but because this was once the site of the Ancient Saint’s descent.

A massive gorge surrounds this area, and the main road extends thousands of meters away. Besides the endless tropical rainforest, there remains only a long main road. It was during the Chaos Invasion thousands of years ago that the Lizardmen defended Itaza under the leadership of the First Generation Great Demon Lord Crok.

Mazda Moody had many considerations for establishing a defensive position here. The most important reason was that the Great Demon Lord hoped to lure the enemy out. As the Chief of the Cities, Itaza’s area is too vast. If defended, it would easily be attacked separately. It would be better to concentrate the limited army in one place rather than disperse it everywhere.

Crok’s power was exceedingly strong. Even with his eyes closed, Mazda Moody could feel just how terrifying Crok’s vibrant life signs were. Their eternal enemy, Chaos, would never allow Crok’s resurrection.

And the worst part is, Crok’s revival is bound to affect the stability of the ”Great Guardian.” At that time, as the ritual proceeds, the Great Guardian is sure to show fluctuations, and this will be the best opportunity for Chaos Demon invasion.

The boundary between the Mortal World and the Chaos Domain will be opened. Horrifying and sinister Subspace creations, under the orders of the Evil God, will rush into the Prime Material World. They will destroy everything they see until the world’s end. After the entire world is completely devoured, the Evil Gods will find everything boring and will turn their attention to the next world.

Mazda Moody would never allow all this to happen. The Great Demon Lord fixed his gaze upon the sky.

Crok’s revival stirred the Magic Wind. The once-bright sky is now covered in clouds, lightning, and hurricanes. Amid the roaring winds, one can faintly see some extremely terrifying creatures laughing maniacally between reality and Chaos.

A total of five Temple Guard Legions guarded the safety of Venerable Crok on the high pyramid. In addition, over twenty thousand Lizardman Legions and more than thirty thousand Spirit Lizard Legions surrounded the pyramid in formation. Positioned in the Inner Ring were various Tyrannosaurus, Armored Dragon, and Triangular Dragon Legions led by over twenty Demon Toads, even including a few Giant Beasts mounted with ancient engines left by the Ancient Saints.

Above the sky, three Winged Dragon Legions flew back and forth, on guard for potential enemies, while the Chameleon Legion hid within the jungle.

They were ready for battle.

The Ash Legion led by Fugen was stationed in front of the pyramid. Among countless Giant Beasts and towering Lizardmen, these humans seemed quite insignificant. The Primarch of the Emperor’s Sons silently gripped the Golden Power Sword Glory in his hand.

Lightning flickered back and forth in the dim sky as he signaled the soldiers of the Ash Legion to form ranks and prepare to face formidable foes.

Meanwhile, Lord Skurk, the right paw of the Skaven Ratmen Plague Family, also gazed at the sky.

Among the four great Skaven Families, the Plague Family has always been a powerful and detested figure. This family, also known as the Pestilence Clan, specializes in producing plagues and various biochemical weapons.

Lord Skurk received orders from the Grey Prophet to come to Itaza to stop a frog thing’s resurrection. It and its army had to kill that enemy in Itaza, yes, yes, that’s right!

When Lord Skurk’s army arrived near the Starlight Bridge, it could clearly feel the Magic Wind permeating the air.

Lord Skurk researched using the Great Horned Rat God Disease to destroy nature. Wherever it was, plants withered and died, and every step it took caused the air to darken and congeal, as if stained by the presence of evil.

Lord Skurk had existed for a long time, and many of the longest-living Ratmen were the younger generation to it. Its power had not diminished with age. Lord Skurk’s demonic vitality masked the ravages of time and the plague accumulating within it. Its hunched back was twisted under the weight of countless decayed filth. Tough dry flesh, covered with a layer of tumors, was hidden under its tattered burial shroud-like cloak. Its mysteriously growing tumors were extremely lethal, as only elderly Plague Monks could fend off each new tumor. Skurk had already become a mobile source of plague.

This legendary Lord’s hollow eyes continuously dripped dark yellow pus. Hundreds of years ago, Lord Skurk had lost its eyes. To express devotion to the Great Horned Rat, it had dug its own eyes out of its sockets with its paws.

The Great Horned Rat appreciated Lord Skurk’s devotion and bestowed upon it enhanced vision. Despite having no eyeballs, Lord Skurk could see all the colorful visions clearly and finally vowed to destroy everything in the world with plague.

It and its army had arrived. Lord Skurk immediately instructed the Slave Rats to start their preparations. It was ready to present a little gift to these servants of the Ancient Saints.

But at this time, the Skaven Ratmen were temporarily not the main actors of this war.

Because the Chaos Demon Legion had already descended upon the Mortal World.

The first to appear was the legion of Khorne. These demons, entirely blood-red, joined the battlefield brandishing the battle flags of the Eight Pillars of Khorne. The first wave of soldiers were Khorne’s precursors. These entirely red monsters had twisted sharp horns, releasing malicious curses with every strike potent enough to fell mortals.
