Chapter 1191: Chapter 516: Surya Is Pregnant

”My Lady, we see that the Sharp-Top Palace is an octagonal castle, and its ruler is Earl Ocasen, a human noble rather than a vampire. Thus, unlike many Undead Lords, Earl Ocasen does not enjoy staying inside the castle for long periods,” Laine meticulously sorted through the available intelligence and continued, ”As a subordinate to the undead, Earl Ocasen is subject to Musillon’s rule, but he treats the nearby subjects quite well because the swamps here are very fertile. Earl Ocasen often patrols the villages near Sharp-Top Palace and goes on hunting expeditions.” Laine pointed to the Sharp-Top Palace, ”Therefore, I plan to seize the opportunity to annihilate him and his main forces when Earl Ocasen leaves the Sharp-Top Palace.”

”What if Earl Ocasen is unwilling to fight you head-on?” The Lake Fairy placed the golden Holy Grail on the table, focusing intently on the map, ”As soon as he sees your presence, Earl Ocasen will definitely lead his army to retreat to the Sharp-Top Palace to hold out and seek reinforcements from Musillon.”

”Don’t forget, Laine, my champion, the Viper of Musillon has unearthed the burial pit of the previous Duke of Atuo’s clan; his forces are no less than yours.” The Lake Fairy seriously analyzed the war situation, ”If your army mobilizes on a large scale and crosses the river, then Earl Ocasen will undoubtedly guard the Sharp-Top Palace to the death and request reinforcements. If your forces are too few, it may indeed relax Ocasen’s vigilance, but failing to take Sharp-Top Palace in a short time will still result in waiting for reinforcements, thus endangering the army stranded on the other side of the river.”

”Exactly.” Laine nodded, ”So we need the help of Lady Aurora and Mogiana...”

(Whispering in progress)

Having heard Laine’s plan, the Lake Fairy did not say much further, ”I’m not a deity with a wartime role, my champion; as long as you are well-prepared, that is good.”

”My Lady, the key issue is not about conquering Sharp-Top Palace; I am confident that I could defeat Mathew Bade and his Undead Army even in an open-field battle,” Laine was more concerned about another matter, ”The main issue is, how do we solve the corruption problem of Musillon? This wasteland is full of swamps and is plagued by corruption and epidemics.”

”Musillon was not like this before.” The Lake Fairy sighed; the beautiful goddess picked up the Holy Grail again, ”That duchy was once the most beautiful and powerful in Brittania. The strength of the original First Holy Grail Knight Landuin even surpassed that of the First Knight King Arthur. But because Landuin’s nature imbued him with traits like gentleness, generosity, and devout courtesy, his heart was also more fragile.”

”Those who value emotions indeed feel this way,” Laine had to pause his own words, listening to the Lake Fairy narrate the origins of everything.

”Landuin’s life suffered three major blows. The first was during the twelve battles that founded the country; when he returned to Musillon, he found his homeland destroyed by Undead Mages. The second was when Arthur was injured while campaigning against the remnants of the Green Skins near Aisloron, and Arthur passed away from illness after that war. The third was after Arthur’s death, due to territorial disputes, when Landuin and the First Duke of Leonais, Sirulf, had a champion duel.”

”After defeating Sirulf and leaving an ugly scar on the face of this former Holy Grail companion, Landuin was completely overwhelmed by sorrow. He immersed himself day and night in grief, and the land of Musillon responded to his sorrow, gradually becoming corrupt and decayed. This is the source of all of Musillon’s downfall, and this disaster is called the ’Great Depression.’

”Then came the event of the ’Mad Duke’ Merovin falling into vampirism and killing the King, and the Dor Tower incident, when then-Duke of Musillon, with the title Duke of Connaught, Madred imprisoned the Lake God Witch, claiming to take me as a wife and demanding to become King. If Taylor hadn’t rescued the Lake God Witch, Madred was nearly successful.”

”After these three matters, Musillon became what it is today.” The Lake Fairy told Laine, ”Therefore, the root of all problems is still Landuin. His sorrow is the source of Musillon’s decay; we must find his tomb to bring peace to his sorrow.”

”I heard that the souls of all Holy Grail Knights return to your Divine Kingdom.” Laine said curiously.

”Landuin’s soul returned to my Divine Kingdom, but his sorrow did not. You must find his tomb, and I will use you as a conduit for divine power to awaken Landuin’s Heroic Spirit,” the Lake Fairy nodded, ”Only in this way can we fundamentally solve Musillon’s corruption problem.”

”Then why hasn’t it been...” As Laine’s words just left his mouth, he understood, ”Ah, I get it, you don’t have me to serve as a conduit for divine power. The corrupt and decayed environment of Musillon would greatly weaken your divine power and perception range.”

The Lake Fairy’s emerald eyes were filled with warmth and joy; she reached out to stroke Laine’s face, ”So you are the best gift sent to me by Subspace, my champion.”

Laine thought to himself, haven’t I heard someone say this to me before?

”Resolving Musillon’s corruption problem is good.” Laine retorted casually, ”I even thought that after capturing Musillon, I would have to make a Golden Toilet in the castle at the river’s mouth and use my power to suppress the land’s corruption, never leaving a single step!”

”?” Hearing Laine’s words, the Lake Fairy looked confused; the goddess said oddly, ”Golden Toilet? Some deities do harness their power to suppress some dreadful existence or purify land, but why a Golden Toilet? Does your power need gold as a medium?”
