Chapter 2341: Chapter 2342: You Don’t Have to Be So Rational

When the steak was served, Ning Zihan took the initiative to cut it into small pieces for An Baobei, before giving it to her.

An Baobei, who still wasn’t good at cutting steak, looked at the already cut steak in front of her, pressed her lips together, and finally spoke, asking lightly, ”Did you learn all this from my second aunt?”

Ning Zihan said, ”I didn’t need to learn from her, just paying a little attention, and I knew.”

An Baobei felt even more complex inside, opened her mouth as if wanting to say something, but ultimately said nothing.

She remained silent, but Ning Zihan, while cutting his own steak, spoke again, ”I know I once hurt you, but in the future, I will never hurt you again. I also won’t let others hurt you.”

An Baobei just snorted with laughter.

Ning Zihan continued on his own, ”You don’t like me, so no matter how much I try to force being together with you, it’s useless. You’re not stupid, you should understand.” After a pause, ”I hope you won’t casually try dating people anymore in the future.”

An Baobei immediately retorted, ”How am I being casual?!”

Still holding the knife and fork, Ning Zihan cut the steak but looked up at her, ”Can you honestly say you tried dating Lu Yimi without any intention of making me give up on you?”

An Baobei was instantly choked up.

Ning Zihan finally stopped his actions, seriously looking at her with a tone that carried a hint of helplessness, ”Baobei, I’m not a fool. Wen Xian said you wanted to start dating, so you tried with Lu Yimi. But you’ve known Lu Yimi for so many years, why did you happen to try with him just when I was pursuing you?”

He paused again, saying, ”Besides, you and Lu Yimi are not suitable for each other.”

After another pause, ”Don’t be so casual in the future. Although in the end, the one who ends up with you might not be me, I hope the one who does is someone you love, and who loves you in return. Not just someone you settle with for life.”

An Baobei felt complex and amused: ”Instead of saying all this, you might as well not pursue me, that would make me happier.”

Ning Zihan resumed cutting the steak, then ate a small piece, and slowly said, ”If I pursue you, we still have a little chance. But if I don’t, we will just remain like this, with no chance at all.”

An Baobei instantly fell silent.

At this point, Ning Zihan pushed a gift box placed on the side toward An Baobei and said, ”The flowers were ruined when thrown in the trash, giving them to you again is not right. This chocolate wasn’t damaged, and it’s the brand you like. Luckily, the country I visited produces this chocolate, so I bought some for you.”

In truth, he still had work at the company today, but he missed her so much that he flew over just to see her, and brought the chocolate along.

Regardless of whether he can make her like him again, for now, he only wishes to be good to her.

Even the hardest heart of An Baobei was a bit moved, but more than that, she found it laughable: ”You retrieved something you threw in the trash to give to me?”

Ning Zihan didn’t feel embarrassed at all, and said as if it was only natural, ”You said Lu Yimi is your boyfriend, how good a mood could I be in? If I wasn’t rational enough to ask Wen Xian about you and Lu Yimi, I wouldn’t be here having dinner with you, but back in E City.”

”You don’t have to be so rational.”
