Chapter 2331: Chapter 2332: You Almost Got Me Exposed

Su Haoyu chuckled and said, ”I didn’t intend to set you up. I’m on Baobei’s side here. It’s just that none of you were comfortable with Zihan accompanying me alone for the follow-up check, so I invited Baobei along.”

An Baobei also chuckled, ”Grandpa dotes on me so much, of course he would be on my side!”

An Jing was naturally pleased with the good relations at home, nodding and smiling, ”Then Baobei, you accompany your grandpa to the hospital for the check-up tomorrow. If anything comes up, call me or your dad immediately.”

”Okay.”

...

The next day, Ning Zihan and An Baobei accompanied Su Haoyu to the city hospital for the check-up. The results showed no issues.

As soon as the check-up was done, Su Haoyu asked Dr. Qian, ”Doctor, could you please tell me who donated the bone marrow? I haven’t had the chance to thank him, and I feel really uneasy about it.”

After all, he saved a life; a mere verbal thank you doesn’t suffice.

Dr. Qian glanced at Ning Zihan expressionlessly, then smiled at Su Haoyu, ”Elder Su, there’s no need to feel uneasy. He already said that he appreciates your sentiment. He’s afraid of this situation; that’s why he didn’t want you to know who he is. I’ve mentioned this to your son and daughter-in-law several times before.”

Su Haoyu asked a couple more questions, hoping Dr. Qian would tell him, but Dr. Qian remained tight-lipped and wouldn’t say, so Su Haoyu stopped asking about the bone marrow donor.

However, Su Haoyu plans to ask again in the future. One day he’ll figure out who it is, and he’ll properly express his gratitude.

Not long after Ning Zihan took Su Haoyu’s check-up report and walked out of Dr. Qian’s office with Su Haoyu and An Baobei, Ning Zihan’s phone rang. When he saw it was Dr. Qian calling, his heart skipped a beat, but he remained calm on the surface.

”Uncle, you and Baobei go downstairs first. I’ll go to the restroom,” Ning Zihan said to Su Haoyu as he hung up the call.

Su Haoyu said, ”Go ahead.”

Ning Zihan handed the check-up report to An Baobei before turning and walking towards the restroom.

But he didn’t actually go to the restroom. Instead, he stood in a corner, secretly watching Su Haoyu and An Baobei get into the elevator before heading back to Dr. Qian’s office.

Once he entered Dr. Qian’s office, he closed the door and casually stated, ”Big cousin, you almost exposed me.”

Dr. Qian laughed, ”I just called you, and you didn’t answer. How could you have been exposed? Stop overthinking. As long as I don’t say you were the one who donated the bone marrow, no one will suspect you. Besides, they know I’m Junlin’s cousin and know you. What’s wrong with calling you?”

”I just left your office, and you called me.”

”Haha, I did it on purpose,” Dr. Qian laughed heartily, patting Ning Zihan’s shoulder. ”Zihan, don’t worry. They might find it strange, but they won’t suspect you.”

”I didn’t let them see it was you calling, so naturally, they won’t suspect me. I made the excuse of going to the restroom to return to your office,” Ning Zihan grumbled slightly, but then his voice regained calm as he asked, ”Big cousin, why did you call me?”

”You like An Baobei, don’t you? I noticed your eyes frequently glancing her way. I called you to bring you back and talk to you about her...”
