Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2338: Chapter 2339: Like My Left Hand Holding My Right Hand

An Jing was in the living room accepting the vase handed over by the housekeeper, placing the champagne roses inside it. Upon hearing what An Baobei said, An Jing laughed, ”You two really don’t seem like a couple. What couple acts this distant? You should at least be a bit affectionate, like holding hands or something, to look more like one.”

Lu Yimi laughed awkwardly, ”We haven’t even started dating properly and are already interacting as boyfriend and girlfriend. I’m not used to it yet.”

An Baobei hesitated for a moment, then suggested, ”How about we hold hands?”

Lu Yimi paused briefly before extending her hand, ”Okay, let’s hold hands.”

So, An Baobei and Lu Yimi interlocked their fingers.

An Jing watched, finding it amusing.

An Baobei curiously asked, ”Holding my hand, how does it feel?”

Lu Yimi responded truthfully, ”Doesn’t feel like anything.” Pausing for a second, ”If I had to describe it, it’s like my left hand holding my right hand.”

”Pffft...” An Jing couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

An Baobei felt a bit embarrassed and nodded, ”Same here.” Honestly, she didn’t feel anything either.

”Do you want to continue this?” Lu Yimi wasn’t exactly eager to keep trying. He and An Baobei had many differences in lifestyle; living together for a day or two was fine, but like a married couple, living together long-term would definitely lead to big problems.

Having already tried spending a day with Lu Yimi, An Baobei was aware of their lifestyle differences, yet she insisted, ”My dad’s already given you a seven-day leave, so let’s keep trying. If after seven days we’re still unsuitable, then it’s over.”

”Okay.” Since she said so, he had no objections.

”Let’s go, weren’t you saying you’d treat me to a western meal?”

”Sure.”

Lu Yimi’s car was parked right in front of the Su Family’s house, and as An Baobei and Lu Yimi walked out hand in hand, not having even gotten into Lu Yimi’s car yet, they saw Ning Zihan stepping out of a black luxury car.

Ning Zihan wasn’t empty-handed either. He held a bouquet of fiery red roses in one hand and a delicate gift box in the other, which contained chocolates he had brought back from abroad for An Baobei.

Initially, Ning Zihan was in a good mood because he was about to see the person he liked. He hadn’t seen her in over two months, and honestly speaking, he really missed An Baobei.

But as soon as he turned around, he saw An Baobei and Lu Yimi together, fingers interlocked like a couple, and his previously good mood soured completely.

His sharp gaze immediately turned cold.

Although An Baobei hadn’t expected to run into Ning Zihan at the door, seeing him now, she wasn’t flustered. She simply said to Ning Zihan confidently, ”Uncle Lu is my boyfriend now. I’m going to have a western meal with him, so don’t text me anymore.”

Ning Zihan just looked at Lu Yimi expressionlessly.

Lu Yimi didn’t even acknowledge Ning Zihan, instead opening the car door for An Baobei to get in.

So An Baobei said nothing more to Ning Zihan, got in the car, and was soon driven to the western restaurant by Lu Yimi.

Ning Zihan didn’t linger at the Su Family’s entrance either. Seeing Lu Yimi’s car drive away, he tossed the flowers and chocolates into a nearby trash can and walked into the Su Family’s door.

When Ning Zihan entered the Su Family’s living room, Ning Wenxian was just coming down from the upstairs with the little baby Su Tian in her arms.
