Chapter 2340: Chapter 2341: Go Ahead and Humiliate Me

Once they exited the restaurant, An Baobei shook off Ning Zihan’s hand: ”Are you insane? Dragging me out here! If you have something to say, hurry up!”

”You haven’t eaten yet. I’ll take you to eat.” Ning Zihan said softly, and attempted to grab An Baobei again.

An Baobei quickly dodged, avoiding his touch, and despite the many people at the entrance, she scolded: ”Your skin’s so thick! I already have a boyfriend, yet you still have the nerve to pester me!”

Ning Zihan looked at her and said: ”If this can make you forget the words I said back then, just go ahead and humiliate me.”

An Baobei froze instantly.

Indeed, even if she no longer liked him, she was still hung up on the words he said back then about her clinging to him. Those words made her feel humiliated, like she was cheap.

She had scolded Ning Zihan like that just now, subconsciously wanting to vent the anger from how Ning Zihan spoke to her back then, but she hadn’t realized it until now that Ning Zihan pointed it out. She was forced to recognize how much it still bothered her.

Seeing An Baobei remain silent, but with more and more people gathering to watch, Ning Zihan spoke up himself: ”I’m pestering you, my skin is thick, I am...”

His words were entirely self-deprecating.

And it was in front of a crowd.

He was doing this just to diffuse all the old resentments within An Baobei.

An Baobei hadn’t expected Ning Zihan to say she could humiliate him as she pleased, and she certainly hadn’t expected Ning Zihan would humiliate himself in front of so many people, leaving her stunned once more.

Seeing people nearby recognizing them and even taking out their phones to take pictures, An Baobei snapped back to reality. Despite being shocked by Ning Zihan’s earlier words, she quickly pulled Ning Zihan toward his car.

Watching An Baobei pull his arm, Ning Zihan’s lips curled slightly into a smile.

They got into the car, with Ning Zihan in the driver’s seat, and An Baobei in the passenger seat.

Seeing An Baobei simply sitting there silently, Ning Zihan didn’t start the car but instead asked: ”Is your anger gone?”

An Baobei remained silent for a while before barely audibly saying: ”Yes.”

He had said what he did about her back then, she had scolded him now, and he humiliated himself in front of so many people—this matter could be considered offset. She naturally wouldn’t hold onto it anymore, though her feelings were a bit mixed.

She had initially thought she didn’t care about it anymore...

Sigh.

Perhaps she was just hurt too deeply by this at the time.

Upon hearing An Baobei agree, Ning Zihan continued to ask: ”Have you started liking me again?”

An Baobei gave him a sideways glance: ”Get lost!”

Ning Zihan, however, cheerfully started up the car, ”I’ll take you to eat.”

”Who said I want to eat with you.”

”You haven’t eaten.” After a pause, ”I don’t want you to go hungry.” Saying this, he drove towards another Western restaurant.

An Baobei snorted but said nothing more.

Arriving at the other restaurant, they went straight to the second floor, also at a seat by the window. Ning Zihan gentlemanly pulled out a chair for An Baobei, and An Baobei snorted again before sitting down.

Ning Zihan didn’t ask what An Baobei wanted to eat but directly ordered a steak for her the way she liked it cooked. An Baobei was somewhat surprised but merely snorted again, still remaining silent.
