Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2335: Chapter 2336: I Just Wish So

Feeling a bit worried, An Baobei didn’t want to call Ning Zihan to ask if something had happened to him, fearing that Ning Zihan would think she cared about him and be even more unwilling to give up pursuing her.

”Why not ask Second Aunt?”

As soon as An Baobei mumbled this idea, she immediately shook her head, ”Better not. If Second Aunt sees me asking, she’ll surely think I’m concerned about Ning Zihan, and might even think I’m interested in him again.”

”Forget it! After all, he’s nobody to me; his life or death doesn’t concern me!”

Having decided this, An Baobei hugged her big teddy bear and tried to sleep, but she tossed and turned, unable to sleep, her mind still lingering on why Ning Zihan hadn’t texted her today.

In the following five days, An Baobei didn’t receive any texts from Ning Zihan, and she didn’t hear any news of Ning Zihan encountering trouble from Ning Wenxian, so presumably, Ning Zihan was fine.

If nothing happened to him, then why did he suddenly stop texting her?

Could it be that because she kept ignoring him, he got tired and lost patience, so he stopped texting her? Gave up pursuing her?

Maybe she had gotten too used to Ning Zihan texting her every day, and suddenly not receiving any texts for days made An Baobei extremely unaccustomed and left her feeling a bit empty inside.

Especially thinking that Ning Zihan had given up pursuing her, besides feeling empty, there was also an indescribable feeling.

Just having this thought, An Baobei hurriedly stopped herself from thinking further, berating herself: ”Do you still want to get hurt by him again?! It’s good he’s not pursuing you anymore! It’s exactly what I want!”

Then, An Baobei was awakened by her self-criticism and stopped worrying about whether Ning Zihan would text her or not, hoping he would never text her again, and genuinely stop pursuing her.

That day, after lunch, An Jing and Ning Wenxian were each on the balcony soaking up the sun while taking care of the kids.

An Baobei helped with the kids too.

As the three chatted, An Jing suddenly thought of something and smiled at An Baobei, ”Baobei, how come you haven’t shown us those cheesy texts from Ning Zihan these past few days?”

An Baobei, with an air of indifference, said, ”He hasn’t been texting me, so how can I show them to you guys.”

”Oh? No more texts?” An Jing was quite surprised.

”Yeah, no more texts.” An Baobei maintained her indifferent demeanor.

Ning Wenxian laughed and said, ”Yesterday, I called my brother, and I couldn’t reach him on his private number, so I called his work number and found out he lost a phone, the one with his private number. He hasn’t texted Baobei probably because of this.”

An Baobei immediately clasped her hands together and dramatically prayed to the heavens: ”Whatever the reason, I just hope he stops texting. I’ll never fall for him; he’s just wasting his time.”

An Jing just found it amusing.

Ning Wenxian, however, couldn’t find it funny, hesitated a bit, and cautiously said, ”Baobei, actually my brother is quite a good person, and he’s particularly responsible. If you could like him again, I still hope you would.”

Not waiting for An Baobei to speak, Ning Wenxian continued, ”I also know he hurt you back then and did a lot of things that made everyone unhappy, but he really is very responsible.”

An Baobei said coolly, ”I can’t like him anymore, Aunt, don’t hold out hope.”

Ning Wenxian smiled and said, ”If you truly can’t like him, I naturally wouldn’t insist, I just hope so.”
