Chapter 1601: Chapter 1602 My Husband Did It for My Sake

Xiao Changyi still remained particularly calm regarding the large appetite of Qi Gaoda and Du Aya.

Once he untied the string of the eight-treasure rice dumpling in his hand, Xiao Changyi gave the dumpling to An Yiyun, who was waiting beside him.

”Thank you, Daddy.” An Yiyun took the eight-treasure rice dumpling without the string and started eating it.

Seeing Xiao Changyi continuously untying the strings from the rice dumplings for her and the children without having eaten even one himself, An Jing untied a meat dumpling and handed it to Xiao Changyi, smiling warmly: ”My love, this is for you.”

”Hmm.” The corners of Xiao Changyi’s mouth slightly curled up, his cold eyes softened, and he took over the meat dumpling to eat slowly.

After An Jing finished a chestnut dumpling, she ate another meat dumpling, and then an egg yolk dumpling. Next, she wanted to pick up a red date dumpling to eat, but Xiao Changyi stopped her, not allowing her to eat any more.

”My love...” An Jing seemed a bit resentful. Actually, she really wanted to taste all the flavors of the dumplings.

Xiao Changyi merely gave her four words: ”Eat less, more often.”

An Jing instantly lost her temper.

Gong Juechen heard this and laughed, saying: ”Changyi, pregnant women once or twice eat their fill, it’s no big deal. It’s not like they do it every meal. Look at my Zhizhi, I don’t limit her.”

Pausing for a moment, Gong Juechen deliberately asked An Jing: ”Jingjing, aren’t you particularly envious of my Zhizhi?”

An Jing replied, ”Not envious, my husband is doing it for my own good.”

Upon hearing this, Xiao Changyi felt very happy inside, but he still didn’t let An Jing continue eating the dumplings. Matters concerning An Jing’s health were non-negotiable with him.

An Jing obediently didn’t eat any more.

For the four children, it was the first time eating dumplings, and they loved them, trying almost every flavor. Fortunately, Xiao Changyi separately wrapped smaller dumplings for the children, but the four kids still ate until their little bellies were round.

A lot of dumplings were wrapped, and even though many people were eating them, quite a few were left over in the end. An Jing asked Li Wuyu and the others to bring some home for their families to enjoy.

While wrapping dumplings, An Jing let some servants come in to learn. Once those servants had learned, An Jing sent them to another courtyard to wrap dumplings, and naturally, the dumplings wrapped by those servants were for the servants and guards of the Xiyun Mansion.

On this day, the entire Xiyun Mansion enjoyed the dumplings, the atmosphere was festive, just like New Year’s.

An Jing and Xiao Changyi certainly didn’t forget Su Chengyu’s family. Although Su Chengyu, as the Emperor, was too busy to come and wrap dumplings with them, An Jing and Xiao Changyi still kept two of each flavor of dumpling for Su Chengyu’s family.

After Ye Zhi and the others left the Xiyun Mansion, An Jing and Xiao Changyi took the food boxes and went to the palace to deliver dumplings.

Actually, it would be enough just to send them with a guard.

However, An Jing, being pregnant, needed to walk more to benefit the development of the fetus, so Xiao Changyi brought An Jing to the palace with him.

Jun Palace.

Ning Wenxian was very happy to see An Jing and Xiao Changyi delivering dumplings, and she pulled An Jing aside to chat.

Xiao Changyi let An Jing and Ning Wenxian chat while he sat nearby slowly drinking tea.

After a short while, a guard hurriedly came in to report: ”Your Majesty, the Emperor heard that Your Majesty has entered the palace and requests an immediate meeting in the Imperial Study Room to discuss urgent matters.”

Upon hearing ”urgent matters,” which certainly indicated something serious, An Jing urged: ”Go quickly, don’t worry about me. I’ll be with Wenxian, I won’t have any issues.”

Xiao Changyi nodded before heading to the Imperial Study Room.
