Chapter 1630: Chapter 1631: Letting His Wife Marry Him Grandly Once More

An Jing stroked Jing Xingqingyun’s head, ”In a few years, you can get married too.”

”Mother, why do people get married?” Jing Xingqingyun, only seven and a half years old, didn’t quite understand what marriage was or why it was necessary.

An Jing felt that Jing Xingqingyun was still young, so she didn’t explain the concept of marriage but instead said, ”You’ll naturally understand when you grow older.”

”Oh, okay.” Jing Xingqingyun didn’t ask anymore.

...

In the sound of firecrackers, a year is gone.

The old year has passed, and a new year begins.

Two days before the New Year, An Jing and Xiao Changyi heard that Emperor of Dongqing had passed away, and as the nation can’t be without a ruler for a day, Dongfang Tianyang, the Prince of Dongqing, had ascended the throne of Dongqing.

New year, new atmosphere.

Because the female soldiers achieved merit in the conquest of Chilin, some were even granted the title of general, and An Jing was granted the title of queen. Hence, in the second half of last year, Su Chengyuan and Shi Shi were responsible for recruiting female soldiers, which was completely different from the first recruitment. Up to five hundred women signed up to join the military.

However, after screening, only over a hundred qualified female soldiers remained, but that was much better than when An Jing and Ye Zhi first recruited female soldiers.

An Jing was very satisfied with this result. At least people’s concepts were slowly changing; women were no longer confined to raising children at home, but could also join the military, go to the battlefield, kill enemies, and serve the country.

On the twentieth day of the first month, these over a hundred female soldiers entered the women’s military camp, where Su Chengyuan, Shi Shi, and the first batch of female soldiers were responsible for training them.

The training programs were almost all what An Jing and Ye Zhi had taught them before; they were just following the training that An Jing and Ye Zhi had taught. Although it was not difficult, it was quite exhausting.

An Jing went to the women’s military camp once, and saw the first batch of female soldiers had grown into instructors. Each one trained soldiers as well as she and Ye Zhi did, and seeing all this, An Jing was very pleased.

Years ago, An Jing and Xiao Changyi got married on the fourteenth of March, and before that, Xiao Changyi, upon seeing Wang Youbao in a grand sedan carry Li Wuyu into their home, had the idea of letting An Jing sit in a grand sedan and marry him. Later, Xiao Changyi and An Jing agreed that on their tenth wedding anniversary, they would hold another wedding, allowing An Jing to sit in the sedan and marry him in grandeur.

This year on the fourteenth of March marks the tenth wedding anniversary of An Jing and Xiao Changyi. With a month left, the celebration of their wedding is already being arranged by the Ministry of Rites.

Here, no couple has ever held another wedding, so initially, the Ministry of Rites did not agree with An Jing and Xiao Changyi holding another wedding.

However, people from the Ministry of Rites thought that since An Jing was now queen and hadn’t officially held a ceremony to conferring her title, this wedding could serve as the official ceremony to confer her title, which also aligned with ancestral traditions.

An Jing and Xiao Changyi’s wedding will follow all the pomp and protocol of the wedding for the Empress of Xiyun; it’s particularly elaborate and troublesome, but because Xiao Changyi wants An Jing to grandly sit in the sedan to marry him, he isn’t the least bit annoyed and is especially patient.

However, An Jing often gets a bit impatient with those complex protocols.

And on this day, An Jing began to complain to Xiao Changyi, ”Husband, it’s really so troublesome, how could it be so troublesome? Our first marriage was so simple, I miss it.”

Xiao Changyi held her, his face expressionless but his tone gentle, ”That’s how the Royal Family is. Besides, as I and Chengyu are considered the boss of Xiyun, if the boss’s wedding isn’t grand without rules, wouldn’t other nations laugh?”
