Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1647: Chapter 1648: We Can Take Action Now

Previously, due to the conquest of Chilin, the Xiyun Kingdom’s treasury was excessively depleted, and there was simply no money to build a new Imperial Palace or Royal Palace, let alone relocate the Capital.

But now, after careful recuperation, the treasury has gradually filled up, and the relocation of the Capital can be put on the agenda.

As for where to move the Capital, it can only be decided after the Xiyun Emperor and King discuss it with their ministers.

The relocation of the Capital is a must and a major event, so An Jing urged, ”Husband, go quickly, Jade Jade and I can watch over the children.”

”Hmm.” Xiao Changyi got up and walked outside.

Meng Zhuqing and Qin Yi accompanied him, entering the palace with Xiao Changyi.

With Xiao Changyi and Meng Zhuqing gone, An Jing and Tobanya took their three beautiful children, while Jing Xingqingyun was studying in the Imperial Study Room and was not at home.

Xiao Changyi didn’t really like riding in a sedan chair, so he rode on Zhuri out of the Xiyun mansion.

In the distance, there was a subordinate of Dongfang Tianyang who kept an eye on the Xiyun mansion’s gate. Upon seeing Xiao Changyi leave the mansion, he turned around and headed to the Fushou Inn.

The Fushou Inn had already been purchased by Dongfang Tianyang’s subordinates, and it had been only a few days since they acquired it.

As soon as the subordinate entered the inn, he went upstairs and entered a superior room.

Several of Dongfang Tianyang’s subordinates were staying in the superior room.

Once the subordinate entered the superior room, he said, ”Xiao Changyi has left the mansion, we can take action.”

Among those subordinates, there was a leader. Upon hearing this, the leader exclaimed, ”Heaven is helping me!”

Su Chengyu was inside the Imperial Palace, so they couldn’t penetrate the Imperial Palace to assassinate him. And Xiao Changyi was a skilled fighter, so they didn’t dare to assassinate him recklessly. But An Jing, they could first help their master by abducting her.

”Ah Hong, A Yi, hurry up and go!” the leader commanded a man and a woman standing by the side.

”Yes, chief!”

The man and woman were Ah Hong and A Yi. The plan had long been discussed, and as soon as they received the leader’s command, they went to their room to change clothes, disguising themselves as a farmer and a farmer’s wife.

They had already investigated that An Jing was originally from Jiuping Village in Qilin County, Xiyun. She had a childhood friend named Shi Xiaolan, whose current husband is Wu Xiaoshan. They were now impersonating Shi Xiaolan and Wu Xiaoshan.

Ah Hong and A Yi, portraying a sincere and honest appearance, arrived at the gate of the Xiyun mansion.

As soon as Ah Hong and A Yi reached the front of the Xiyun mansion, A Yi spoke to the guard in front of the mansion, ”Officer, we are old acquaintances of your Queen. My name is Wu Xiaoshan, and this is my wife, Shi Xiaolan. Please do us the favor of passing a message inside.”

The fact that the Queen of Xiyun was born a farmer was well known. Upon hearing that they were acquaintances, the guards dared not neglect them but still cautiously asked, ”Are you really old acquaintances of the Queen?”

Ah Hong replied, ”Yes, we are old acquaintances of the Queen. I grew up together with her. We just happened to come to the Capital for some matters, so we came to see her.”

As she spoke, Ah Hong took out a hairpin from her hair, ”Give this to the Queen. She recognizes this hairpin, and once she sees it, she’ll know it’s me looking for her.”

One of the guards received the hairpin, examined the old hairpin, and said, ”Then wait here. I’ll go in and report. If the Queen wants to see you, she’ll naturally let you in.”

”Thank you, officer.” Ah Hong and A Yi immediately expressed their gratitude repeatedly.

Shortly after the guard went inside, Ah Hong feigned a fainting spell, and A Yi promptly supported Ah Hong.
