Chapter 1600: Chapter 1601: Truly Embarrassed For You

Liu Feifei and Liu Buli are both the quiet types, not saying much, but they wrapped quite a lot of dumplings.

Gong Juechen, it was unclear if he really couldn’t wrap or was doing it on purpose; anyway, the dumplings he wrapped were particularly ugly. Gong Juechen himself did not think they were ugly; instead, he was particularly happy, saying that his dumplings were different from others’.

Ye Zhi couldn’t stand watching anymore and told Gong Juechen not to wrap dumplings anymore, genuinely feeling embarrassed for him.

Gong Juechen listened and once Ye Zhi told him not to wrap dumplings, he stopped. Instead, he sat there and kept talking to Ye Zhi while watching her wrap dumplings.

When Xiao Changyi saw An Jing wrap one dumpling, he figured out how to wrap them too. However, the dumplings he wrapped were flavors that his wife and children loved.

An Jing noticed each time Xiao Changyi added fillings to the dumplings, she felt genuinely happy inside.

Dumplings of different flavors were tied with differently colored ropes for easy distinction. As soon as the first pot of dumplings were steamed, the children couldn’t wait to clamour for them. The adults did not compete with the kids and let them eat first.

There were six children, each took one, totaling six dumplings, while the pot had steamed three or four dozen, leaving the rest for the others to eat.

The second pot was also steaming.

The servants from the Xiyun mansion did not help; it was all done by their division of labor themselves.

The dumplings had a fresh aroma and weren’t greasy, everyone really liked eating them.

Gong Juechen wrapped over a dozen oddly shaped dumplings, which were steamed in the end as well, but no one touched Gong Juechen’s dumplings. Gong Juechen gathered those dozen dumplings, brought them to Ye Zhi, and offered her to eat.

Gong Juechen grinned cheekily and said, ”Zhizhi, these are all wrapped for you, all in your favorite flavors.” He paused, ”Filled with lots of stuffing~” meaning less glutinous rice.

Finally, Ye Zhi realized why Gong Juechen’s dumplings were wrapped so poorly.

Nonetheless, Ye Zhi picked up one, untied the rope, and started eating. As expected, there was lots of stuffing. It was more like stuffing sandwiched with glutinous rice rather than vice versa.

”I can’t eat that much,” Ye Zhi said as she continued eating.

Seeing Ye Zhi eat his dumplings, Gong Juechen felt incredibly happy and immediately said, ”No problem, there’s me too. You eat first, and I’ll finish the rest.”

”Queen, the dish you and Ye Zi came up with is really delicious,” Du Aya praised immediately after taking a bite of the meat dumpling, its aroma filling her mouth, soft and not greasy.

Since Ye Zhi no longer worked at the military camp, Du Aya and the others now called her Ye Zi.

Seeing everyone enjoying it, An Jing was happy too and laughed, ”If you like it, eat more!”

Du Aya immediately responded, ”I can definitely eat twenty!”

An Jing: ”...”

Xiao Changyi paused momentarily while untying the eight-treasure dumpling rope, then continued as if he had heard nothing.

Qi Gaoda was right beside Du Aya. Upon hearing this, he laughed foolishly and said, ”A Ya, I can eat forty.”

The Qi family are not only tall but strong and have huge appetites. Du Aya, now part of the Qi family, had a relatively small appetite among them.

Du Aya said, ”If mom hadn’t said that pregnancy requires eating less at each meal, I could definitely eat thirty!”

Qi Gaoda looked at Du Aya’s belly with deep concern and comforted her, ”Just bear with it. Once the baby is born, you can eat as much as you want, and you won’t have to feel unsatisfied at every meal like now.”

Du Aya nodded happily, ”Yes, yes.”

Everyone: ”...”
