Chapter 1611: Chapter 1612: Don’t Talk Nonsense!

Watching her family’s four children, two of them surrounding Tobanya and the other two around Meng Zhuqing, An Jing had a smile on her face and exclaimed, ”See how close our children are to you?”

Before Tobanya and Meng Zhuqing could speak, An Yiyun looked up and said to Tobanya and Meng Zhuqing, ”Aunt Yao and Uncle Zhuqing, Yun Er and our elder brothers want to recognize you as their godparents, what do you think?”

Tobanya and Meng Zhuqing were both taken aback.

Only to hear Meng Zhuqing quickly reply, ”Yun Er, don’t say such things!”

An Yiyun said, ”Yun Er is not speaking nonsense, Dad and Mom have both agreed, letting us recognize you as godparents.”

Tobanya and Meng Zhuqing were even more alarmed and hurriedly knelt down, not daring to accept this at all.

The four children had a status comparable to a prince, especially Su Yi Jing, who was the legitimate eldest son of Xiao Changyi, the King of Xiyun. Even if he didn’t inherit the throne in the future, he would still be the foremost among the princes. How could they dare to accept this, standing above the four children?

One must know that if accepted, according to filial piety here, they would become the dearest elders of the four children, ranked even higher than them.

What virtues or abilities do they have to stand higher than the four children? They simply couldn’t win the public’s approval... It was absolutely unacceptable!

An Jing understood their fears and said, ”You don’t need to worry, we will keep it private, only we will know about it. We won’t make it public and put you in a difficult situation.”

The four children in their family were not ordinary people now but royalty. Acknowledging relatives in royalty was rare, and if it couldn’t win public approval, it would lead to Meng Zhuqing and Tobanya being talked about.

Even though An Jing said this, Meng Zhuqing and Tobanya were tempted but still didn’t dare to accept.

In Meng Zhuqing’s view, he was just a slave, and even though no one in this family treated him as such, where is the reasoning for a slave to act as a father to his young masters?

Tobanya and Meng Zhuqing were in sync and naturally knew what Meng Zhuqing was thinking, so they acted according to Meng Zhuqing’s stance as her husband.

Seeing Meng Zhuqing and Tobanya kneeling and refusing to get up or accept, An Jing gave a signal to the four children.

Before coming here, An Jing had already taught the children what to do.

As soon as the four children received An Jing’s signal, they immediately understood and began to cry and fuss, saying that Meng Zhuqing and Tobanya didn’t want to be their godparents, saying they were heartbroken.

Seeing the children so heartbroken, Meng Zhuqing and Tobanya became anxious, soothing them for quite a while, yet the children kept crying and fussing, looking particularly saddened. Meng Zhuqing and Tobanya had no choice but to accept and recognized these four godsons.

Afraid that Meng Zhuqing and Tobanya would change their minds, as soon as they consented, An Jing urged, ”Hurry up and call them godfather and godmother.”

The four children immediately wiped their tears, knelt down, and kowtowed to Meng Zhuqing and Tobanya, saying, ”Godfather and Godmother, please accept our bow!”

Only then did Meng Zhuqing and Tobanya realize they had been tricked by the four children. Although exasperated, they were deeply moved at the same time.

Quickly helping the children up, as they looked at them, both Meng Zhuqing and Tobanya had reddened eyes.

Does this mean they have children now?

And four of them.

At this moment, Xiao Changyi, the head of the family, finally spoke, ”The sixth day of next month is an auspicious day, and it also happens to be the children’s birthday. On that day, we will hold a family recognition banquet for you and the children, adding joy to joy, and let Wuyu and the others know.”
