Chapter 1560: Chapter 1561: Can’t Sleep Due to Worry

Xiao Changyi stopped talking, but he still refused to leave An Jing’s side, staring at her with an expression as if his gaze would make her period come.

An Jing was both amused and bothered, not knowing what to say.

That night, during dinner, Xiao Changyi ate tastelessly, only taking a few bites before stopping. Just because his wife still hadn’t gotten her period.

An Jing saw Xiao Changyi so worried that he couldn’t eat, feeling both frustrated and amused, ”Husband, if you don’t eat, I’ll be angry!”

Only then did Xiao Changyi pick up his bowl and chopsticks again and eat a bit casually.

Seeing Xiao Changyi truly unable to eat, An Jing didn’t force him anymore, but she sighed, ”I’m just late on my period, and you’re like this. If I really got pregnant, wouldn’t you be worried to death?”

Xiao Changyi actually responded with a ”Mm.”

An Jing was still feeling amused and helpless.

After taking a bath and getting into bed, Xiao Changyi stared at An Jing’s belly again. An Jing hesitated for a moment, then sighed heavily before saying, ”Husband, that’s enough, if you keep this up, I’ll get depressed like you.”

This time, Xiao Changyi didn’t stare directly at An Jing’s belly, but instead gazed at An Jing’s face. However, his cold eyes couldn’t help but glance down, worrying that An Jing might really be pregnant.

”Husband, it’s late, let’s just go to sleep.” To An Jing, once her husband slept, he probably wouldn’t overthink.

”Mm.” Xiao Changyi, not quite in the mood, turned off the lights, lay beside An Jing, hesitated for a moment, but still pulled An Jing into his arms and held her.

An Jing deliberately snuggled in his arms, teasing him, ”Husband, do you want to—”

”No!” Xiao Changyi interrupted her with some excitement before An Jing could finish her sentence. He held An Jing tightly, preventing her from moving in his embrace, lest he lose control.

”Hahaha...” An Jing burst into laughter immediately.

Rarely a bit annoyed, Xiao Changyi lowered his head, capturing An Jing’s lips in the dark, and gently bit them as a punishment.

Being bitten, yet not feeling any pain, An Jing continued to laugh heartily. Even if her period came tomorrow, her husband would surely be apprehensive, not daring to touch her for quite some time.

Haha.

The more An Jing thought about it, the more she found her husband adorable and funny.

”Sleep.” Hearing An Jing continuously laughing in his embrace without sleeping, Xiao Changyi commanded with these two words.

An Jing wasn’t angry at all, she asked with a smile, ”So you’re not sleeping?”

”...Can’t sleep.”

”...You’re hopeless.”

”Mm.”

”Then you worry, I’ll sleep first.”

”Mm.” After a pause, he said very softly, ”Hope your period comes tomorrow.”

”Hahaha...” An Jing burst out laughing again immediately. Her husband, indeed, was hopeless.

Unless her period came, otherwise her husband wouldn’t feel at ease no matter how she tried to persuade him. So, An Jing stopped trying to persuade him, and after laughing, she snuggled closer to Xiao Changyi and finally closed her eyes.

Her husband’s embrace was warm and safe, making her heart sweet, feeling happy, so before long, An Jing fell asleep, sleeping soundly.

But Xiao Changyi couldn’t sleep at all.

Even when he closed his eyes, he couldn’t fall asleep. Truly too worried to sleep.
