Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1451: Chapter 1452: What kind of people are under Xiao Changyi’s command?

Seeing the battering ram was already hitting the gate, and many archers on the city tower had been shot down, Xiao Changyi signaled again, and immediately many soldiers covered by the archers carried cloud ladders and placed them against the city walls.

They intended to use the long cloud ladders to reach the tower.

Meng Zhuqing and Meng Lanqing, without hesitation, dismounted and quickly ascended a cloud ladder each, using their swords to knock down the rain of arrows shot at them while still climbing upwards.

Her own husband had climbed the cloud ladder, and Gong Juese, who had always been warned by her husband not to speak, immediately dismounted and quickly climbed the cloud ladder. Her superb swordsmanship easily deflected the arrows flying at her.

As a result, Gong Juese reached the tower even before Meng Zhuqing and Meng Lanqing.

Upon reaching the tower, Gong Juese slaughtered all around, first killing the two soldiers who wanted to push the ladder to make Meng Lanqing fall.

”Husband, come on!” Gong Juese reached out a hand to Meng Lanqing, who immediately gave his hand to her, and she easily pulled him up to the tower.

Once on the tower, the couple wasted no time dealing with the Chilin soldiers rushing at them.

Meng Zhuqing joined the slaughter as soon as he reached the tower.

Inside the city, Ma Da Gong was explaining how to defend against Xiao Changyi and his troops if they breached the gate, but before he could finish, he saw Gong Juese ascending the tower.

He immediately shouted, ”Why haven’t you gone up and killed her yet? Letting a woman climb up here, useless!”

There were already many soldiers on the tower, and because of Ma Da Gong’s words, even more soldiers rushed to the tower.

But soon, Ma Da Gong couldn’t utter the word ’useless’ anymore, because he saw Gong Juese’s skills on the tower, where she could kill a Chilin soldier with almost every sword strike.

What kind of people are under Xiao Changyi...

Even the women are this formidable...

Ma Da Gong was shocked.

Seeing Meng Lanqing and Meng Zhuqing also ascend, with the enemy’s two major leaders up there, how could this be tolerated? Ma Da Gong quickly led his men up the tower, ready to kill Meng Lanqing and the others.

Upon seeing Ma Da Gong, Gong Juese said, ”You’ve come just in time, I was about to look for you! Dare to insult my husband, see if I don’t beat you so badly even your mother won’t recognize you!”

Saying this, Gong Juese, who was slaughtering all around, charged at Ma Da Gong.

Afraid that Gong Juese would kill Ma Da Gong, Meng Lanqing, while killing enemies, quickly reminded, ”Se Se, watch out, I want to deal with him myself and take his life!”

Just as Meng Lanqing finished speaking, Xiao Changyi ascended the tower via the cloud ladder.

Xiao Changyi’s speed in ascending the tower was so quick that it terrified the Chilin people who witnessed it.

An Jing was already anxious, and seeing Xiao Changyi climb the ladder made her even more tense, she even forgot to breathe. Only when she saw him reach the tower without being shot on the ladder did she relax a little.

Just a little.

Actually, her heart was still hanging high. Jingye City hadn’t been successfully taken, her husband hadn’t safely returned, and her heart couldn’t find peace.

Once on the tower, Xiao Changyi first swung his longsword, simultaneously cutting down the flag representing Chilin Kingdom and the flag indicating Ma Da Gong as the commander of the three armies in the city, then swiftly replaced them with two flags: one with ’Xiyun’ written on it, and another with ’Su’.

Although Jingye City hadn’t been occupied by Xiyun yet, the change of flags would boost the morale of the Xiyun soldiers when they saw it.
