Chapter 1459: Chapter 1460 Explosives

Seeing An Jing so excited, Xiao Changyi lowered his head and affectionately nuzzled An Jing’s nose with his own, then chuckled, ”You haven’t said what the method is yet?”

An Jing also chuckled and nuzzled him, ”I haven’t finished speaking yet, you have to wait until I’m done to know what method I’m talking about.”

”Then go ahead,” Xiao Changyi looked as if he was eagerly listening.

Only then did An Jing continue, ”To make people believe in destiny, we must create a particularly large commotion, one that can’t be made by human power. I’ve thought about it, and the best way is to make the earth shake and the mountains tremble, so people will believe it’s heaven’s will.”

Xiao Changyi didn’t ask how to make the earth shake, he just continued to listen.

Immediately, An Jing explained to him: ”In my former world, there was something called explosives, especially those powerful explosives. If you use a sufficient amount to blow up a mountain, it will definitely shake the earth and the mountains.”

”Actually, you have gunpowder here, it’s that black stuff used in firecrackers. In ancient times in my former world, it was called black gunpowder. However, you don’t know how to refine it here; its power is very small and it is only used in firecrackers, not for other purposes.”

”The explosives in my former world are much more powerful than the gunpowder here; they can easily blow up high buildings and city walls in an instant.”

Upon hearing this, Xiao Changyi’s cold eyes sparkled, ”How are those explosives refined?”

An Jing replied, ”It’s quite complicated and I can’t explain it clearly in a short time, but Ye Zi and I know how to do it. Tomorrow, I’ll make a list and have someone buy the materials. I’ll call Ye Zi to help me refine them.”

”Okay.” Xiao Changyi didn’t object.

”Darling, the matter of refining explosives must be strictly confidential. Only you know, I know, and Ye Zi knows—no one else should know. I want everyone to believe that Chilin being destroyed by Xiyun is destiny. This will not only cause the Chilin soldiers to panic and lose fighting spirit but will also greatly boost our army’s morale.”

”Okay.”

”Also, darling, before Ye Zi and I refine the explosives to make the earth shake and mountains tremble, we should send some people to infiltrate Chilin’s cities and spread the rumor of this destiny. Say it’s heaven’s will for Xiyun to destroy Chilin, and that earthquakes will happen in Chilin’s territory. By then, if the earth really shakes, everyone will believe this rumor.”

”Okay,” Xiao Changyi replied again, ”I’ll send people to spread the rumor.”

An Jing said, ”As long as Chilin’s people believe this is fate, then when we attack other Chilin cities, their soldiers should not fiercely resist like they did today. Maybe some will even surrender voluntarily.”

To surrender voluntarily, in their eyes, is to follow destiny. People here fear heaven the most, and since ancient times, no one has dared to go against fate, fearing divine punishment.

Xiao Changyi truly thought An Jing’s idea was a good one.

It could indeed reduce casualties. Although he had seen bloodshed countless times, he preferred to avoid it whenever possible.

”However,” An Jing added, ”refining explosives will take quite some time...”

Xiao Changyi immediately said, ”Then the army will temporarily stay here in Jingye City; it will give them a good chance to rest.”

Her darling’s words clearly meant he wanted to wait for her and Ye Zhi to finish refining the explosives before proceeding.

”Darling, you’re so good, cooperating with me like this.” An Jing no longer leaned against Xiao Changyi’s chest, instead she slightly turned and hugged Xiao Changyi with a happy expression.
