Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1497: Chapter 1498: This is already a lot!

When Wang Youbao tightly held Li Wuyu’s hand, she instantly beamed with a smile.

Seeing Li Wuyu like this, Wang Youbao was initially stunned, then he smiled slightly and asked gently: ”Are you happy that I’m here?”

”Of course, I’m happy! I haven’t seen you for so long! But, there’s something that makes me even happier.”

”What is it?”

”Last time my father wrote to me,” Li Wuyu’s smile was radiant, ”He mentioned that while I was away, a maid tried to climb into your bed. You immediately expelled all the young maids from the mansion. Now, except for the old ladies, there isn’t a single young maid left in the house.”

Wang Youbao hurriedly said, ”Wuyu, there’s nothing between me and that maid. As soon as I saw her on the bed, I had her chased out. I haven’t slept in that bed since, so please don’t overthink it.”

Li Wuyu chuckled, ”I’m so happy, do I look like I’m overthinking? Youbao, you’re so good to me~”

With that, before Wang Youbao could react, Li Wuyu gave him a kiss on the cheek.

This time Wang Youbao was so relieved, he didn’t even look around to see if anyone spotted his wife kissing him.

Once his heart was at ease, Wang Youbao took a deep breath and smiled, ”I’m glad you’re not overthinking. I promised you, just you my entire life, and I won’t break that promise.”

Back then, he was just a merchant, and she was the Prime Minister’s daughter, yet she did not look down on him and married him. This is something he always cherished in his heart. Moreover, he genuinely liked her and naturally wanted to treat her as well as he could.

Listening to Wang Youbao’s words, Li Wuyu truly felt she was incredibly happy. Her eyes caught sight of the neatly placed package beside them, and she couldn’t help but ask, ”Youbao, what is that? Is it for me?”

”Yes, it’s for you.” Wang Youbao then picked up the bundle, placed it right in front of him and Li Wuyu, and opened it.

Inside the bundle, there was a wooden box.

The wooden box was neither too big nor too small.

Upon opening the wooden box, you could see bottles and jars inside. They were sitting on thick velvet fabric, clearly to prevent them from getting damaged during travel.

Four jars of honey and several small porcelain bottles and jars labeled with what they were for.

Wang Youbao always remembered how Li Wuyu particularly liked sweets, so he took out a jar of honey and a small silver spoon for her, ”I originally wanted to bring you some pastries, but the journey took too long, and they would have spoiled, so I only brought honey.”

Li Wuyu opened the lid, scooped a bit of honey with the silver spoon, and put it in her mouth. The sweet fragrance of honey filled her entire mouth, making her close her eyes in satisfaction, ”So sweet~”

Seeing Li Wuyu so delighted, Wang Youbao was pleased too: ”Use the medicine as you see fit; I’ve labeled them for wounds on the bottles. I didn’t dare to bring too much, fearing it would be inconvenient for you to carry, so I only brought this much.”

”This is already a lot!” Li Wuyu was overwhelmed with joy, ”Youbao, you’re the best person in the world to me.”

”You’ve married me, I’m your support; if I’m not the best to you, who will be?”

”Mm-hmm, I knew I didn’t marry the wrong person.”

Li Wuyu took another small bite of honey before closing the lid and putting it back in the wooden box, ”Eat it slowly; once it’s gone, it’s gone.”

”I’ll buy more for you, and if I can’t bring it over, I’ll wait for you to come back and eat it.”

”Mm-hmm~”
