Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1496: Chapter 1497: Looking Around, Afraid of Being Seen

Wang Youbao remained firm: ”No, Master and Shifu are not that kind of people, they would never harm me.”

After a pause, Wang Youbao felt a bit embarrassed but still asked quietly, ”Master... where’s Wuyu? Can I see her?”

He had finished all he needed to do and had said all he needed to say to An Jing and Xiao Changyi. Now, he really wanted to see his wife. It had been almost three years since he last saw her, and he missed her dearly.

This was also why he volunteered himself to be the Supply Officer.

An Jing smiled and said, ”I knew you wanted to see her, come on, I’ll take you to her. She’s currently training with the female soldiers.”

”Alright!” Wang Youbao replied happily, picking up a square bundle and following An Jing out of the tent.

As for Xiao Changyi, he did not go with them to find Li Wuyu.

...

Li Wuyu was currently training with the female soldiers under the Deputy General, Ye Zhi. When she saw An Jing bringing Wang Youbao towards them, Li Wuyu’s clear and beautiful eyes lit up with a smile.

However, constrained by the training, she resisted the urge to excitedly run over to her beloved baby.

It wasn’t until An Jing called her, ”Wuyu, come over here.”

That Li Wuyu immediately stopped training and joyfully ran toward Wang Youbao. When she reached him, her eyes curved into smiling crescents like a crescent moon, and she happily called out, ”Baby!”

Wang Youbao was now half a head taller than Li Wuyu. Seeing her so happy, he was also very joyful. However, his smile was more restrained, unlike Li Wuyu’s lively demeanor, seeming to forget decorum as soon as she saw him.

”Alright, you two go ahead and chat.” An Jing, noticing that the young couple had eyes only for each other, decided to leave on her own.

Seeing everyone around was training, Wang Youbao felt a bit out of place standing there with his wife, so he asked, ”Wuyu, is there a place where we can talk?”

Upon hearing this, Li Wuyu pointed to a small hill in the distance, ”Let’s go there to talk.”

”Okay.” Wang Youbao smiled, his gaze towards Li Wuyu particularly gentle. After three years without seeing her, his wife was still as energetic and beautifully elegant as ever, with no changes except for a bit of tan.

Once they reached the small hill, the two sat down with their backs to the military camp.

As soon as they sat down, Li Wuyu kissed Wang Youbao on the face, making him nervously look around, afraid of being seen.

Li Wuyu, seeing her baby blushing and looking around, grinned, ”I already checked, there’s no one around.”

It was obvious she had looked around and only kissed him when she saw no one was there.

Feeling a bit embarrassed, Wang Youbao coughed lightly before speaking in a low voice, ”We’re not at home, be mindful.”

Li Wuyu wasn’t upset and laughed as she asked, ”Baby, how’s our child doing?”

”Pretty good.” After a pause, ”Currently with your father, the wet nurses have also gone to the Prime Minister’s mansion. You don’t need to worry too much about the child; your father and the wet nurses will take good care of the child.”

”Baby.” Li Wuyu suddenly called out, but then she just looked at Wang Youbao with a silly smile.

”Hmm?” Wang Youbao was puzzled.

”Even if you won’t kiss me, shouldn’t you at least hold my hand? It’s been almost three years since we last met.”

Wang Youbao: ”...”

His handsome face flushed a bit redder, but he didn’t blame Li Wuyu. After a moment of silence, he looked around again, and seeing that indeed no one would see them, he firmly grasped Li Wuyu’s hand in his.
