Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1452: Chapter 1453: It’s Either You Die or I Perish

Indeed, as they saw the flags change beneath the city wall, the Xiyun soldiers’ morale soared, and their assault grew even fiercer.

Unstoppable.

Boom!

At this moment, the gate of Jingye City was rammed open by the battering ram.

The men pushing the ram didn’t know how many times they had struck; they only knew that once they broke open the gate, they continued to vigorously push the ram forward. As they advanced into Jingye City, they also pushed aside the Chilin soldiers blocking the gate, allowing their Xiyun soldiers to enter Jingye City.

”Kill!” Qi Weimeng led his men into the city, fighting fiercely against the Chilin soldiers.

It’s either you die or I perish.

Sword glimmers, shadows of blades, sandstorms rage, blood mist permeates, majestic solemnity, and profoundly heroic yet mournful and bleak.

The longer the battle raged on, the more tragic it became, making it hard to watch, as even the heavens refused to clear, darkening instead.

Due to the wall’s obstruction, An Jing couldn’t see the army fighting, but she could hear the deafening sound of battle. In fact, she could smell the scent of blood spreading from Jingye City in the air around her, despite being so far away, causing her heart to feel like a heavy stone was pressing on it, making it difficult for her to breathe.

What An Jing could see at this moment was Gong Juese and others killing enemies on the city wall, watching them fall one by one.

Wars always claimed many lives, and even though she knew, even though she was prepared, and despite having witnessed it in the modern world before, her heart couldn’t help but feel even more repressed now.

In her line of sight was also her husband.

Her husband waved the flag and then went to fight Ma Da Gong.

Ma Da Gong was originally fighting Gong Juese, but Gong Juese somewhat underestimated Ma Da Gong. Only after exchanging blows did Gong Juese realize that his skills were quite formidable, making her unable to easily prevail.

Fortunately, Xiao Changyi appeared in time, allowing Gong Juese to leave Ma Da Gong for Xiao Changyi to handle.

As soon as they clashed, Xiao Changyi found that compared to the past, Ma Da Gong’s skills had improved significantly.

But what difference does it make?

He would still die by his hand.

Ma Da Gong’s weapon was a broadsword, while Xiao Changyi wielded a longsword. The collision of sword and blade sparked cold light, a murderous aura evident on both Xiao Changyi’s and Ma Da Gong’s faces.

Back then, although Ma Da Gong escaped, he was extremely loyal. He was devoted to the Emperor of Chilin, willing to die for Chilin. When commissioned here by the Emperor of Chilin, he made a pledge, stating he would rather die than lose the city.

Therefore, he wouldn’t retreat now; he would fight Xiao Changyi to the death.

Only after exchanging more than thirty moves did he start struggling to cope, gradually falling into a disadvantage.

After fifty moves, Ma Da Gong was attacked by Xiao Changyi to the point where he couldn’t even muster the strength to retaliate.

Finally, Xiao Changyi leaped into the air, kicking Ma Da Gong several times, forcing him to retreat continuously. But Xiao Changyi didn’t stop there; he spun around, turning his back to Ma Da Gong, yet his longsword swiftly pierced backward, instantly penetrating Ma Da Gong’s body.

”Uhm...” Ma Da Gong immediately spat out a large mouthful of bright red blood.

Standing by the city wall, Ma Da Gong clutched his broadsword, staggeringly bracing it against the ground, supporting himself not to fall. Then, he slowly lowered his gaze, looking at the longsword still embedded in his body. The longsword shimmered coldly, yet the glaring red blood continuously flowed from his body, along the sword’s edge.
