COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

”First of all, this is a common practice, and I think you should know it. But there is only one exam left this semester.

You can treat it as the final exam.”

The school system did not stop operating because of Acting Director Tsukishiro’s hospitalization.

”As a special exam at the end of this semester, you will be asked to demonstrate the comprehensive results of what you have learned so far, including intelligence, physical strength, teamwork, and perhaps luck. In short, you must make full use of the various potentials that you have.”

Although Chabashira spoke in an official tone, she quickly turned around and wrote the current evaluation scores of each class on the blackboard before students asked questions.

Ichinose Honami leads Class A with 1298 points

Class B led by Arisu Sakayanagi scored 1250 points.

Hachiman’s Class C scored 1185.7 points

Ryuen failed Class D 0 points

????

”.....” Hachiman. ’Why do you write our class points in decimals? Are you so frugal?’

Among them, Ryuen’s class has not moved for several months.

”I want to announce the exam content and rules right away, but I’d like to let you take a look at the evaluation scores first. You are very close to Class AB right now. You can still be considered an upper-level class,” Chabashira-sensei was a professional teacher, reminding everyone of her supremacy, ”Although it’s not nice for me to say this, I’m glad you can get the results you have now, but I can’t say how long you can keep them.”

But such words make little sense.

Everyone knows.

Moreover, more people want to know immediately whether this month’s exam will be dangerous.

”This special exam is a selection test where each class will compete with each other based on their comprehensive abilities. According to the rules, opposing class will be determined and then exam will be conducted.”

”Here, you may face off against any of the 2 classes A, B, and D, which is chosen by drawing lots. Except for the venue and space requirements, there are no restrictions on content of the exam.”

”It can be a written test, shogi, poker, baseball, etc., or even drawing joker cards. You need to use your brain and wisdom to select 10 items from various projects and submit them to me. These 10 projects will be disclosed to the enemy class. On day of the test, you will select five of 10 projects to confirm, and other class will do the same.”

”Then, system will immediately select 7 out of a total of 10 (5+5) items prepared by both classes for the competition.”

”Fight 7 games. The class that wins 4 games first will receive 100 class evaluation points provided by the school. Not only that, every time you defeat the other class in a game, you will be able to take away 30 points of class evaluation points from enemy.”

”Test requires that no matter what situation is, even if it’s 0-7, you have to complete the 7-game event.”

It can be said that it is worthy of being a final exam.

Because of this kind of game, class evaluation score will be 30X7+100=310 points.

Because it is a competition between two classes, once they become passive, it will be very scary.

Because points in seven-game match will be taken by the losing class.

In other words, school is almost forcing each class to put their wisdom and faith to the test.

Chabashira distributed the printed papers she brought with her one by one, which contained more detailed rules.

Hachiman also got information from the previous table.

Read quickly.

1. In terms of number of participants, each game has at least 1 and a maximum of 20. Each class can only apply for 2 events with more than 10 participants per game.

2. Each student can only attend one program.

3. There is no restriction on the projects, but one thing to note is each class cannot apply for same project, or projects that are extremely similar.

4. Each class needs to select a commander. Who cannot directly participate in the project competition, but can provide guidance to the corresponding students through equipment.

The specific situation will be explained to the Commander.

If the class wins the match, Commander will receive a certain amount of personal points as a reward, and if the class loses, will be expelled.

At same time, Commander will draw lots at 10 am tomorrow to select the class to play against.

That is to say, competition is also an exam that forces students to drop out of school.

Not to mention how great it would be to win, if you fail, the student who serves as commander will be expelled from school.

Not only that, if you just pick a random student as the commander, he/she will not be able to participate in the various games and only give suggestions.

So you have to ask the powerful people in your class to be the commander.

If top student in his class is the commander, then if duel fails, this top student will be expelled.

Gather 20 million points to offset the penalty for expulsion.

Or...

Allow students who have obtained expulsion protection quota in the previous exam to take over.

’Acting Director Tsukishiro is still in hospital, but judging from the current situation, this special exam should be his work. After all, protected places are directly given to students from four classes. It has to be removed,’ Hachiman pondered, and finished reading the rules.

Although he didn’t say anything now, but noticed that many classmates had looked over.

It seemed, was no one more suitable than him to visit Commander’s Tower.

In the several exams, no matter how dumb people were, but knew that Hachiman had put in a lot of effort.

This time, maximum number of points he would lose would be.....

If that was case, then class would fail.

The living expenses were reduced from 100,000. It was related to everyone’s quality of life.

Not only that, commander might be expelled, but Hachiman won first place in the last exam and had a golden ticket that exempted from expulsion.

Therefore, if he decided to be the commander himself, no one would refuse.

”Is Commander unable to directly participate in the project?” Suzune, who was beside Hachiman, suddenly raised her hand and spoke to Chabashira

As his secretary, Suzune is well aware of the importance of Hachiman.

At the same time, she was also very clear that it would be a stupid decision to tie up Hachiman for sake of the class.

”It’s not allowed by the rules. You can only assist, but can’t participate in person, Horikita.”

At this time, Karuizawa, who was sitting in the front row, looked at her phone and said, ”Ah... then isn’t this a pity? If the Commander has to drop out, then Hikigaya-kun, who received a golden ticket, is only the most suitable person to go. But isn’t his Japanese very good? If we make a test and write a few awesome classical Japanese essays, then we can be sure of winning the game!”

Karuizawa said as if she was sighing.

So it seems difficult to do.

But she also pointed out what everyone was thinking, if Hikigaya-kun served as Commander.

Then everyone can be exempted from penalty of expulsion after losing the class duel.

”But Command Tower is a mandatory exam. And if you fail, will be gone. Although there are many students in our class who are stronger than ones in Class A, this is a best-of-seven game. If we lose, someone will definitely drop out.....I expelled Yamauchi because he was too much in every aspect. We had to do it because of exam rules. But, now I don’t think, any need for students present here to be expelled....So...”

Dsk! Stand!

”I, Hikigaya Hachiman, will be the commander for this exam!”

Took on the responsibility that almost saved his class.

And after he took the initiative to take responsibility, many students could be heard patting their chests in relief.

Then, looked at Hikigaya-kun with a grateful and relieved look.

”....” Kushida-chan, who is good at observing the atmosphere and understanding people’s hearts, is quietly watching Hikigaya-kun.

’Because ninety-nine percent of what he said was lies.....What does it mean that after Yamauchi dropped out, you feel that there is no one in class worth dropping out? It was obvious that when I went to you to vent my anger two days ago, I said some trash things about my classmates. I talked about several students who didn’t want to drop out of school but not even doing any work to improve themselves at the same time..... So, Hikigaya-kun said bluntly, just let them drop out of school. There are still many exams to go and someone needs to take up the dropout spots.....Result, what you say now is important to everyone...That is to say, Hikigaya-kun might be trying to win people over....If boss is the commander, it is equivalent to him becoming the person playing chess, and classmates are just pieces. If he chooses a path, but the piece does not move, then no other choice.....So he is winning people’s hearts and making tools obey his orders obediently when the time comes.....In other words, boss actually is very cautious about this special exam? So, would it be better if I took the initiative to help?.....Hmmm...’

Kushida-chan looked up rules of the exam. Since content was not limited, it could be a regular exam paper, or some playful skills, or even chess.

In addition to her popularity and strong affinity, she actually has another advantage.

That is, she types very fast....’Of course, I don’t mean typing on a computer, but typing on a mobile phone....If this were to be an exam, I feel that no one in this school would be able to compare to me...’

”I have no problem being the commander,” As everyone looked over, Hikigaya-kun continued, ”Although I think our class’s chances of winning are not that great. But, Some must-win projects can also be pursued. For example, the monster in our class-”

Sacred word is used.

Everyone’s attention shifted again.

It fell on the golden retriever who was sitting in middle of the classroom and would take out a comb to do his hair from time to time.

Koenji Fucking Rokusuke!

He clearly has amazing athletic talent, but simply gave up at sports festival.

However, in the last withdrawal exam, he said he would contribute to the class and was even willing to give 2 million points to gather 20.

Koenji felt noticed.

After all, this is someone with even greater athletic talent than Sudo.

”Huh? Are you looking at me?” Being stared at eagerly by his classmates, Koenji immediately understood that Hikigaya-boy wanted to take back the favor he had done him before.

Plus, Koenji couldn’t completely stay out of it, because this school is a bit sick, if you ask his opinion.

At first he thought he could just hang out and collect 20 million so he could go to Class A when he graduated.

However, if he were to take these expulsion exams over and over again and again, and if he were to stand out from the crowd again, he might really be forced to take expulsion exams or the Commander Tower and be expelled or have to spend an extra 20 million points.

If this happens, will suffer a big loss.

”No problem,” Koenji moved away from his hair comb, ”I will take part in this exam, and I will not lose to others in competition.”

He decided to use his own strength to protect himself.

”I’m coming too!”

In this situation, Sudo Ken raised his right hand and said, ”I will not lose in sprint or basketball event!”

Although he admitted that he was not as good as Kiyotaka or Koenji.

However, Apart from these 2, there is also student council president and other ordinary athletes, so he will not lose.

So, he will definitely win against other classes.

”Sudo-kun and Koenji-kun have been registered,” Seeing that Hachiman has been decided to be commander, Suzune has already started writing down Sudo’s name and the event 200m race and Koenji’s 1000m race in her notebook.

She is a good Secretary material.

Sudo’s explosiveness and endurance are both rated A, and he is indeed not inferior to many people in the same grade.

And Koenji’s strength in Deserted Island exam should not be underestimated.

”Can I also offer a project?”

At this time, Angel Kushida-chan replied, ”If it is typed on a mobile phone, then I can participate!”

’Typing on your phone?’ Others looked at her with some curiosity, but understood immediately.

Kushida-chan always replies to them very quickly, so her hand speed is trustworthy.

”• •” Pervert-kun stared at her face, ’what do you mean your hand speed is trustworthy? Can do it so fast?’

Some people’s brains are still in the dark gutter.

”Then let’s add a solo event for Kushida-san,” Hikigaya-kun looked at her with some surprise.

What responded to him was Kushida-chan’s smiling face.

She has learned to recommend herself, which is somewhat unique for her who usually acts like a little angel.

This Kushida is a little well-behaved.

There are already 3 projects that seem to be sure to win.

”If you want to catch them by surprise....I can also help,” At this time, Akito Miyake from Yukimura’s group suddenly raised his hand, ”I learned archery when I was in middle school and competed at county level. I’ve checked out clubs in this school, and there’s no one related to archery.”

”Wow!”

”Isn’t this amazing?” classmates looked over in surprise.

Mr. Miyake doesn’t show off his talents, but he turned out to be such a great person.

”Miyachi, you actually have such a hidden talent!” Haruka was pretty shocked, his title is also unique.

However, Suzune also included it.

Because if Archery competition, others probably have no experience, but Miyake is a good player, so the probability of winning is about 90%.

”Actually, if I want to compete, I can also take English-related written exam!” At this time, another student raised her petite hand.

It was probably because Hikigaya-kun took the lead and directly served as Most dangerous Commander, taking such a huge risk.

The other students no longer have the risk of being expelled, and only have seven games left.

If lose, their living expenses will be deducted. So, people raised hands.

”If it’s an English competition, then I won’t lose!” Wang Mei-yu, petite best friend of Kushida, said immediately.

Mii-chan’s English score was indeed never below 100, a cheating student in a single subject.

”I suddenly feel that our class is also very strong!”

Someone finally spoke out.

Because Sudo’s 200 meters, Koenji’s 1000 meters, Kushida’s mobile phone typing, Miyake’s archery, and Wang Mei-yu’s English all seem to be must-win events.

’But it’s not easy to use.’ Chabashira, who had been silently paying attention to the students’ free play, said in her heart. ’There are many problem children, and it is difficult to tame them, but if successfully under control, will be an absolute help.....’
