COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

“Shouting like this is not in line with the style of our class.”

“.....” Katsuragi was silent for a long moment.

But, Mashima was pretty cool about his expired date, he continued to announce, “Then let me repeat, Totsuka Yahiko, -36 votes!”

“You have two hours to take care of your personal belongings and you need to be at the school gate in two hours, otherwise Men in Black will come for you.”

“Hand over your phone to the Student Council.”

???

Why does it feel like being arrested?!

“Katsuragi, Katsuragi-san—” Yahiko, who was announced to be expelled from school, couldn’t understand what was going on.

“I don’t w-want to go, p-please don’t make me K-Katsuragi-san!”

Why, why was it him instead of Katsuragi-san who dropped out of school?

“Second place, Morimiya, -30 votes.

“Please take this as a warning in the future. Strengthen your interaction with classmates and contribute to the class.”

This boy was same who tried to violate Hachiman on cruise, saying he could be a murderer, his motives to get quality time but only got rejected by his own community.

Result.

“.....” Morimiya.

“Third place, Emi Tamiya, -24 votes.”

“???” His Ex-girlfriend.

But now no one seems to be interested in paying attention to it.

So to speak.

Why?

A young girl spoke up, as if to change this incomprehensible situation, “It’s great that results didn’t exceed expectations.”

Just this simple sentence shows it was not result of a mistake, but a planned conspiracy.

“Sakayanagi, I really thought you were a good person at heart!” Katsuragi was angry from the beginning.

“Katsuragi-kun, you are not dropping out of school. You weren’t even target from the beginning,” Sakayanagi said with a smile, she was a good person.

“Don’t be ridiculous. You did say you would get rid of me!” Katsuragi didn’t believe her casual excuse.

“That’s true. I did say I wanted to get rid of you... but that was a lie,” Sakayanagi smiled gently, not seeming to care, “I am a girl after all, you shouldn’t trust our words so easily....fufu~”

“Why...why!” Although he shouted like that, Katsuragi had already vaguely guessed it.

But Sakayanagi revealed the truth, ”The answer is simple. Did you notice essence of this exam? Students who drop out of class will not lose any points in evaluation. In other words, this is what school means, to eliminate useless people.”

“Keeping Yahiko-kun won’t do Class B any good. So eliminating him is obvious. The reason why it’s not you is that Katsuragi-kun is quick-witted and has excellent motor skills. In addition, you are a calm person. With these qualities, you can still play a certain role. In this exam, which is suitable for getting rid of unnecessary people, there is no idiot who would get rid of a excellent piece......” Sakayanagi said her intention, which completely saw through nature of the exam.

Of course, her intentions were more than that. “Anyway Katsuragi-kun, if you thought you were going to be expelled, do you remember who you voted for?”

“....” Although he was asked such a question out of the blue, Katsuragi still answered honestly, “Ryuen Kakeru from Class D.”

Each person has a vote of appreciation for someone from another class.

This is a mandatory form to fill out, but you can decide for yourself who to vote for.

Katsuragi chose Ryuen from Class D.

“Why vote for him?”

“...Except for Hikigaya Hachiman, Ryuen is probably the biggest threat to Class B,” Katsuragi Kohei said his reasons, when he got some weird looks on picking Ryuen, “So if I really get expelled, I hope to make him more conspicuous and give you a warning.”

”Isn’t that right?” Sakayanagi smiled softly and looked at everyone, “Katsuragi-kun is not a useless person. Even if he feels that he is going to be expelled, he still cares about Class B.”

“But, Yahiko-kun, what about you?” Sakayanagi looked at Yahiko, who was in a complicated situation, with a pure smile.

“I voted for Ichinose, of course!” All he could think about now was being told exam was a fake.

“Ichinose-san... well, she does have a likable temperament. She has such a dark history, but she is still likable. I admire her too. But in terms of class confrontation, I won’t choose her. In contrast, Yahiko-kun, you are just using your voting power out of selfishness. You can’t compare with Katsuragi-kun at all,” Sakayanagi gave her verdict, actually she just didn’t like Ichinose’s melons, and was forced to remember her own negligible growth, “So, Totsuka Yahiko-kun, it is a foregone conclusion that you will be expelled from school.”

”No--” However, Totsuka could not accept this ending.

”Sakayanagi!” Yahiko almost jumped up, and picked up his table to smash Arisu’s head, “You’re going too far!”

“Totsuka Yahiko.”

The homeroom teacher Mashima stepped forward and held Totsuka Yahiko’s hand, “Come with me. Your result cannot be overturned.”

“…” Yahiko looked at everyone in the class angrily.

But no one was watching him.

This is a situation where everyone is in danger and everyone is protecting themselves.

Katsuragi closed his eyes in pain because he had no way to save Yahiko.

Not to mention that all savings were lost because of buying tickets from Ryuen, not to mention that you still owe a large sum of money.

Yahiko can’t borrow money even if he goes now.

Not many people have 20 million, or can really pay it back if they borrow it.

As for other students, they were prepared for this outcome, but Yahiko was no longer a student in Class B.

Because today’s only task is to take an exam.

Test results were announced, so the class immediately resumed free activities.

Because they received news that some students would drop out today, Council worked as usual on Saturday, and some members had already posted the test results.

“• •” Suzune, “...I don’t want to be a council member anymore.”

“Why not?” Hachiman was confused, because she didn’t even get invited, but you rejected already.

“I don’t want to be in the same room with this person who announced results.....” Suzune glared at the bulletin board, very fiercely.

Because exam was for dropping out of school, after results came out, all the students in class were free, except Yamauchi, who was expelled and cried.

However, he had been ordered to pack his luggage and ask to drop out of school.

Then he asked Hirata to help him use the points to buy a computer.

Should really accept this ending.

Probably his desk won’t be in the classroom tomorrow.

“But, the number of votes those girls have is horrific.” Hachiman and Suzune came to bulletin board on the first floor.

Generally speaking, important notices and class evaluation scores would be posted there, and results of this exam could only be confirmed here.

After all, teachers only notified the situation of own and did not tell other classes.

All terrible answers.

Among them, Ichinose got more than 70 votes, while Sakayanagi is even more exaggerated, with 104 votes.

Among the students who won first place in each class, except for Ryuen who looked relatively weak, the students in other classes probably not only got most of votes from their own class, but also from other classes, so they looked so terrible.

First of all, there is Arisu Sakayanagi.

In Suzune’s heart, Sakayanagi is a girl of Hikigaya’s level, so she thinks it is normal even if the number of votes is exaggerated.

Even though Ichinose has such a dark history, she still received a large number of votes.

There is no need to be surprised at all, because she is simply not something that people can hate.

As for Suzune, she actually voted for Ichinose.

As for Ryuen, there was one less person in class during forest exam.

Therefore, his number was probably obtained by forcing his Class D to give him all the votes, and then a student from another class gave him one vote, so it reached 39 votes.

These are all easy to analyze.

“By the way, which class gave you those 78 votes? Was it Ichinose-san’s?” But Horikita Suzune was concerned about her deskmate Hachiman, “There should be more than 20 or even 30 people in our class who would vote for you. But, you also said you didn’t canvass for votes or even spend any money. So, it was Ichinose-san’s class that gave you praise tickets?”

Um.

Hachiman received 78 votes.

Among people in the large group that he had formed directly after the exam rules were announced, no one should criticize him.

Rather, some people should vote for him, and then a few people who were waiting and not joining group might also fill in their votes of appreciation with a friendly attitude.

Then Hachiman might have received 30 tickets of appreciation from Class C.

So, current number of 78 is very concerning.

Judging from numbers, there is definitely more than one external class given to him.

It is very likely that entire class from outside gave him votes of appreciation.

“I can’t tell you about this right now, there are so many people here....” Hachiman wisely chose to escape her foul gaze.

Yes, exam was over and it wasn’t just them who came to check the answers, but also students from other classes.

“By the way, the person who usually picks your meals is watching you,” Suzune suddenly raised her head and looked in one direction.

There, a girl with purple hair was standing quietly, but her eyes were looking in this direction.

Oh, he understand.

“See you later, Horikita.”

Of course he knew this purple-haired girl, because she was Kamuro-san, the puppy that Sakayanagi raised.

Although, he thinks Horikita-san is a bit emotional when she says Kamuro-san is a foodie, Hachiman can’t pay attention to her right now.

Because, Kamuro-san came at a very convenient time, and he just happened to have something he needed to check with Sakayanagi.

Because he really didn’t spend a penny on this exam. The number of votes he received was really wrong.

Hachiman didn’t do shit!
