COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

But on night before the exam, Hachiman actually had a serious private meeting with a girl named Sakayanagi Arisu.

Location is a regular classroom.

In first grade class B.

The agreed time was in the evening, and when Hachiman arrived, he found there was only one person here, a silver-haired girl reading a book in the sunset, on teacher’s chair of all people, tea cups beside her.

It seems that after end of the world, the girl is still reading quietly here, which makes people have the illusion that it is a scene in a painting.

The moment you see this scene, your body and mind will stop.

Eleganto!

She was wearing same uniform as the cute girls in her class, but she looked completely different.

However, such people are out of the human category according to common sense.

Just like her name, Arisu comes from a strange country.

To say how beautiful she is is to say that she is untouchable and even unattainable, and one can only marvel at her beauty.

Isn’t this super cute?

Arisu Sakayanagi.

Click.

The camera flash lit up, which was very conspicuous in the dim evening sun, and flash also fell on the book that Sakayanagi was reading.

“I don’t remember ever allowing anyone to take photos of me at will, Hikigaya-kun......”

Then she looked in one direction, and Hachiman followed because it was in the classroom, he could see a commonly used camera.

Taking photos at will is not allowed by law.

It is an infringement of portrait rights, and it is even more serious in Japan.

So even if you see idol stars walking on the street without sunglasses, it’s okay.

Others don’t dare to take pictures of them unless they ask for permission.

But, Hachiman can just pretend that he didn’t hear what Sakayanagi said.

Because school itself is using various cameras to spy on students all the time, right?

The school has never given students right to make their own portrait. You can tell from the camera. It’s on now.

“Sorry, I have deleted it.” Hachiman turned on his mobile phone, and it actually asked him whether to delete the photo.

Then Hachiman quickly clicked on the word ”delete”.

The photo has been deleted.

“....” Sakayanagi.

Perhaps because she didn’t expect that he would delete it without hesitation, Sakayanagi paused for a few seconds.

But she is still very well-mannered.

So Sakayanagi just smiled softly, then gently closed the book, “Speaking of which, tomorrow is assessment day for this month’s special exam. I came to you today just to confirm one thing, has the dropout in your class been confirmed?”

“Yes, Haruki Yamauchi.”

Hachiman had nothing to hide about this conclusion, and Sakayanagi should be quite interested, after all, Yamauchi had bumped into her.

So now that Yamauchi has been decided to drop out of school, it is actually a comfortable thing for her.

“This is really interesting information. Well, then... I’ll take my leave here.” It seemed that Sakayanagi had achieved her goal, and she stood up with the help of her cane.

I guess that’s the case.

If Yamauchi wasn’t one being expelled from Class C, then she might have taken action.

Because when Yamauchi bumped into her, she said that she would make him fall once too.

Obviously, her fall wasn’t meant to be literal.

Instead, Yamauchi was expelled from school.

But now that Hikigaya’s class has already gone this way, there is no need for her to do anything.

While watching Sakayanagi’s voice, Hikigaya-kun added,“Let me ask you something, it seems like things are going to get complicated for your class. My informant from D class told me that Katsuragi went to buy appreciation tickets from them.”

”Fufu. I’m really humbled to have caused you to worry.” Sakayanagi had actually already obtained this information because she also paid for it.

Katsuragi bought 28 tickets, and she directly won the remaining 11 votes.

She had a story to tell.

“Indeed, this kind of exam will cause unnecessary expenses for our class, which is divided into two factions. However, Katsuragi-kun has been designated as a dropout. After all, a semester has passed, and he has been given many opportunities, but unfortunately, he cannot lead the class forward.”

“So, although it’s a pity, this is all he can do......” In other words, she was fully prepared to have Katsuragi expelled from school.

In other words, she will probably manipulate the votes.

“Your tea cups.....”

“Kamuro-san will get them for me...”

“Oh....”

“So, did you really delete my photo?”

“Yeah, here you can check album.”

“• •” Sakayanagi.

So, under such circumstances, the first-year students ushered in final day of judgment - Class vote.

The day before, Ryuen from Class D was deducted 50 points from  evaluation score because he destroyed the camera in special teaching building.

However, no one paid attention to this trivial matter because Ryuen’s class score had already been 0 points.

So there is no point in deducting another 50 points.

At the same time.

Most of first-year students think that Ryuen’s affairs are unimportant, because today they will take an exam to decide life or death of their classmates or themselves.

People were in a bad mood.

Not only them, even their class teacher couldn’t stop it.

This is not a reasonable test.

No one did anything wrong, but they were still expelled from the class.

The atmosphere in Class C was a little depressing.

This is something Chabashira, the class teacher, can detect after arriving in the room.

She didn’t say anything, and there were still 10 minutes left until exam.

But the students were not in such a good mood.

Perhaps it was not until this time that they noticed their actions today would cause some students in the class to drop out.

They already understand the impact of decisions they can make.

Chabashira couldn’t help but recall the helplessness of first-year teachers when this withdrawal exam was announced.

Not only students are tested, but teachers as well.

And everything starts with the appearance of the new acting Director Tsukishiro Tokinari.

“The first years seem to be a bit relaxed. This attitude will be a disadvantage.....”

The Acting Director summoned all the teachers without hesitation on day when Chairman Sakayanagi was taken away for investigation on suspicion of abusing his power for personal gain, and announced his decision that no rebuttal was allowed.

“So, let’s make them feel a sense of crisis. I suggest giving an exit exam.....”

Thus, Voting began.

Class C, Grade 1.

Teacher Chabashira walked to the podium in an orderly manner, holding a stack of forms in her hand.

This is the form that will be given to students to fill in their names for votes of appreciation and criticism.

”The time now is eight o’clock. The special exam for this month will be held at eight-fifteen.”

“The first and last place will be decided.” Chabashira said. ”The entire exam period is one hour. If the time limit is exceeded, one student will be randomly selected and expelled.”

As she said this, stepped away from the podium and walked aside.

Obviously, students were given a final 15-minute discussion opportunity.

“At the same time, it is not recommended that you breach the contract or give up the exam, because once such a situation occurs, you will be expelled directly, and those who drop out by giving up the exam will not be recognized, so the class vote to drop out of the exam will continue. Please don’t make any stupid mistakes.” Chabashira said this and completely stepped aside.

As she spoke, some people began to turn their eyes in one direction.

The table that had been kicked away has returned to its original position.

And a boy with light green hair was sitting there with his eyes closed.

That’s Yosuke Hirata.

Although he has been skipping classes these days and someone saw him sitting alone at the school gate yesterday, Mr. Hirata still came today.

At the same time.

Many eyes looked in another direction, which was the location inside safety mountain.

Yamauchi was there too.

This is very reassuring.

Because just now Chabashira said that if you give up the exam, you will be expelled directly.

But even if there are students who drop out, the exam will still continue.

If Yamauchi gives up, then everyone will have to choose one person to drop out, right?

It will make some people feel uneasy.

All the students looked towards the window seat.

That was where Hachiman sat, people even felt like they were looking at some kind of protagonist who was going to save them.

Background music! Cut! Cut!

Now Chabashira-sensei took initiative to move aside so they still have a chance to talk.

The one who dropped out was either Hirata or Yamauchi.

Most people want the latter to drop out of school in hearts.

As Hikigaya-kun said, he will choose a lucky person today who will receive votes of appreciation from the entire class.

The student who gets the most votes of appreciation in class can receive special rewards and protection from expulsion.

There was indeed a small lottery box on his desk.

Kushida-chan stood up and handed out a small slip of paper to everyone.

It seems they are going to let everyone write own names and put them all in a small lottery box, and select one and announce it in public.

That’s fair.

Students began to write their names.

Then little note, also fell on a certain desk.

“Yamauchi-kun, please write your name as well,” Angel Kushida was very sweet and cute.

”Huh?” Yamauchi was stunned.

”Why can Yamauchi write too? Isn’t he going to be expelled?” A student immediately paid attention.

At the same time, everyone discovered it.

“I won’t write,” Hirata is going to retaliate.

Yamauchi also skipped classes for several days, but he found that no one cared about him, not even Hirata-kun came.

This morning, someone passed by his dormitory and slipped a note into crack of his door, informing him that he would have an exam today and that he would be expelled if he didn’t come.

He checked signature on the note.

It’s Yosuke Hirata.

So he wondered if Hirata was ready to drop out of school to protect him.

Now, Hirata really didn’t write his own name!

’In other words, Hirata is really ready to sacrifice for me and drop out of school!’ Yamauchi’s mood improved.

”Hateful!”

The students around him were a little indignant watching this scene, because why did Hirata sacrifice himself to save Yamauchi?

When comparing Hirata and Yamauchi, everyone wanted to choose  the former.

It’s just that Hirata-kun has been very negative recently.

Not only did he skip classes, he even left his room, and if you knocked on his door, he would chase you away.

And in the past two days, he didn’t even respond to knocking on the door, as if he wasn’t in the room at all.

Isolated from everyone.

Even those who are grateful to Hirata and want to help him are unable to.

Did Hirata choose to drop out of school in the end?

But the exam is coming soon, so for now everyone can only follow this order.

“Then it’s time for next step!” Kushida-chan placed the small lottery box on the podium, “Horikita-san, could you please come and draw it?”

In other words, she just acted as a collector of everyone’s names, but she also had to avoid suspicion.

Now the baton has been passed to Horikita Suzune, who seems to be just and fair.

“???” Suzune was confused, but she still had no objection, no one complained either, but to be honest she received a lot of sympathy these days.

People feel bad for her.

Then, watched as Horikita Suzune reached into the lottery box.

Then, she pulled out a piece of paper.

She unfolded the note. She glanced at it, turned it over so students could see it, too.

As you can see, written on it are just two words.

[Ayanokoji Kiyotaka].

In other words, object of the appreciation ticket that everyone has to fill out has been selected.

Pity.....

The students who were not selected felt it was a pity.

Yamauchi also felt it was a loss. Because if he is drawn, he will also have a protected title.
