The next popular person?

Isn’t it her, Kikyo Kushida?

Although her IQ is not high, Kushida feels that Hikigaya-kun is deliberately exaggerating and even wants to get her help for free.

“Hmm...I want a bonus!” Kushida maintained her smile and did not sit down.

Instead, she looked at Suzune.

“...Horikita,” Hachiman had no choice but to pat his deskmate on the shoulder.

“....Kushida-san,” And Suzune was forced to say, ”This time, I hope you can provide help.”

“Well... can we just treat this as Horikita-san owing me a favor?” Kushida’s voice suddenly became very cute, her face as if she wasn’t asking much, “And can it offset the previous incident and improve my rating?”

Kushida intertwined the fingers of her two hands, looking very happy.

The previous incident she was talking about here was the rumor about Horikita that she had assisted in.

And if she took it, she would offend Horikita.

“• ×” Suzune took a pretty while to respond, “Okay....”

She doesn’t know yet that Kushida is only an accomplice and not principal offender, so the answer here is equivalent to forgiving the enemy that Kushida worked under and got humiliated for.

It can be seen that Suzune really wanted to help Ichinose this time, so she made such a big sacrifice.

“Yoshu!“ After receiving this answer, Kushida-chan was in a good mood.

’I even feel that it doesn’t matter if Hikigaya-kun takes advantage of me for free.....Because for someone with Horikita Suzune’s personality, if she said this, other person would really improve her evaluation of me if she responded seriously.”

And she went on to say.

“Okay, after all, Ichinose-san is also my good friend, so how can I just sit back and watch when such bad rumors spread about her? And this is information I got,” Kushida then began to share the intelligence she had easily obtained, source of the origin, and truth hidden.

The reason why rumors can be spread is they cannot be just empty lies.

They must hide some truth so are not easily exposed or denied.

Just like the rumors about Suzune before, from being student council president’s sister being partial to her, giving her pocket money etc.

The truth is that Suzune is indeed a very cute sister of President.

So once rumors came out, she couldn’t respond or deny them right away.

Then rumor spread more and more widely.

Kushida Kikyo is best at this kind of thing, so her anti-reconnaissance skills are also quite high.

Only from her can you get effective help.

And asking Kushida for assistance seems to be relying on her strength, and she has also achieved her goal, eliminating Suzune’s dissatisfaction with her, which seems to be a win-win outcome for both parties.

But it’s not.

In case of Suzune’s rumor, influential people like Kushida can incite others to gain great power, so there is no guarantee that she will not cause trouble again.

She might just help being nosy about Ichinose and slander her reputation to get title of best waifu!

“• •” Hachiman. ’Therefore, by leveraging her power, we can eliminate the possibility of her causing trouble.....’

That is to say.

Kushida Kikyo was sealed away.

So this is Hachiman’s real purpose, to calm down the girl who is getting in the way.

Then comes opportunity to resolve incident.

Looking at Suzune’s sullen face and Kushida-chan’s gradually cheerful look, Hachiman just wanted to shake his head. ’These two were still not smart enough...I really can’t imagine what would happen to these two people if I wasn’t in the class....’

Kikyo Kushida is a person who is very good at communicating with others, and her sources of information and her ability to grasp are terrifying.

Although Hachiman can seek help from Hirata and Karuizawa, at most they can only interact with students in same class, and have no information sources from others, so what they can gather is very incomplete.

“It can be confirmed that person who fanned the flames is from Ryuen-kun’s class...But before everyone received the rumor about Ichinose-san in their shoe cabinets, someone had already started spreading it,” Kushida said very darkly, “Also, no one witnessed that rumor letter this time was placed by someone from Ryuen-kun’s class.”

This attracted the attention of Horikita and Hachiman.

“The source of news is a girl from Class D, also known as Ryuen’s Class, but considering the girl’s emotions, I guess she was not the first person to spread the rumor. It may be that her crush, Hashimoto-kun, who asked her to spread it,” Kushida said, and also added her own news to summarize.

Then a character named Hashimoto was pointed out.

That is, the person who was cheated out of 1 million points by Hachiman in the forest exam and who, in order to repay the debt, recorded a classmate farting.

’But at that time, Hashimoto was spy of class, and he wanted to cling to Ryuen’s thigh, with an attitude that said, “Who cares who is my boss? As long as you take me to Class A, it’s fine.”In other words, he is a fence-sitter.It is unclear whether his actions were directed by Sakayanagi or by Ryuen himself. If it was Ryuen, then he should have been bribed and hired by Nagumo. And if it was Sakayanagi who instructed him to do it, then...girl is indeed a stumbling block on road to promotion, a big boss.’

Hachiman analyzed it.

’Nagumo wants to be president, even though he no longer has the qualifications, but he still has his subordinate, Kiriyama, who is also qualified to be a candidate for student council president. So what he wanted to do was to get Kiriyama on stage.By letting Kiriyama take office, he can use the plan of attacking competitors.Just like the previous rumor, reporting Ichinose’s huge points, and then Sakayanagi reported it.Let’s ruin Sakayanagi’s reputation first. In such an election, she will definitely not be supported by Ichinose’s supporters....But soon, Nagumo did not give up attacking Sakayanagi, but chose to degrade Ichinose. This is very strange.Although he didn’t attack Sakayanagi, it was she who directly arranged for people to wait in ambush, and then reported to student council when caught the person.Looks like a tricky idea. However, it would be strange to continue attacking Ichinose.Because Ichinose is representative of Class A. If you attack her, how could her followers still give you 40 votes?’

Um....So that’s what it is.

’Ichinose might really have a disturbing side or a dark history.Maybe she herself didn’t come out of it.And if her attack fails and someone comes to her rescue, she might be heartily conquered.’

Eh.....This is very regrettable.

Because Hachiman discovered that all angels now seemed to be fake.

’There is....no real angel.Hirata is kind to others because he wants to make up for not reaching out to his friends, and Kushida is kind to others because he wants to build her own Kushida empire. So, is Ichinose like this too? Is it because of some other reason that she is so angelic? But that’s not case, because if you want to help others, then help. This is behavior of a saint, and we are all just human beings.Sakayanagi probably discovered Nagumo’s intention and wanted to intervene.... It’s like Nagumo wanted to defeat Ichinose and then appease and collect votes, so why couldn’t she do the same? Therefore, rumor regulations that appear in everyone’s shoe cabinets now were not placed by Nagumo and Ryuen and others at all.It is a version enhanced by Sakayanagi. Then pressure on Ichinose will be even greater.’

That’s why Hikigaya doesn’t want to be a corporate slave.

If he goes out into society, he will definitely encounter all kinds of things like taking sides, fighting for power, and intrigue.

Just like now.

You can canvass for votes and fight for power, but why do you want to involve innocent people?

These 40 votes from Ichinose’s class.

Everyone wanted it.

But now Suzune is completely confused.

Because even though she had memorized entire grade roster, she was still relatively unfamiliar with Hashimoto.

“Is there someone like that in our school? Wasn’t it a neck disease?”

“• •” Kushida-chan.

“• •” Hachiman who came out of his long and boring thoughts.

“???” Suzune was very confused.

He nodded at the blonde.

“× ! •” Kushida-chan, who got the real idea, and realised bastard was actually teasing her!

“.... Hashimoto-kun is Sakayanagi-san’s yellow coloured dog who is rumoured to be a girl’s enemy,” Kushida provided some unnecessary data to her file, gritting her teeth, “So the source is most likely his owner.”

“Just like Kushida. Hashimoto is not necessarily loyal to Sakayanagi. He and Ryuen are also close friends....”

Hachiman gave his own two bits, only to be glared at by Kushida very fiercely that promised misery in his heart, even more after their marriage.

“So there’s no way to determine the source, right?” Suzune who was still innocent, and unaware of tension between those 2 who just educated her.

“There is still a way,” Hachiman suggested, ”I believe in her information. So, Kushida, you should contact Shibata and the others and tell them that it is Hashimoto who is spreading rumors now.”

“Just tell Shibata-kun, what’s he going to do? That guy has no brains!” Although she felt that it was unlikely to be Hashimoto, Kushida still followed Hachiman’s judgment.

But this judgment was to share the news with Shibata.

“Shibata and the others really want to protect Ichinose, so we can use them to test whether it is Hashimoto?”

“....” Kushida remained silent.

Because she knew best this person wanted to take advantage of other people’s power for free.

“It has been sent, boss.”

Like an elementary school student completing a task assigned by his teacher and then immediately trying to please, Kushida announced as soon as she was done.

But she was just showing off that she was doing something in front of Horikita Suzune.

Horikita-san is very awkward. If you do some things for her secretly, she won’t be grateful or even notice unless you point it out.

So even if she behaves a little blatantly now, there is nothing she can do to make other party feel that she has really done something.

Kushida Kikyo knew it clearly.

She also understood that Hikigaya-kun was very clear about her true nature, so showing her abilities more often could make her feel more stable in this class.

“Okay, you can go back.” Suzune nodded blankly.

“💢” Kushida-chan, ’what the hell? what do you mean I should go back? Didn’t I help very much just now?!’

“Just go back? My foo----”

“There are only seven minutes left until class starts,” Hachiman already sensed another cat fight coming in a minute or two, if she interacted any longer.

Kushida-chan was forced to return to her seat, but her cheeks were puffed out angrily, and she was glaring at both without even turning her face.

But after a while, a classmate who came back from outside exclaimed.

It can even be said that class suddenly became noisy.

“The students from Class A, Shibata and his gang, went to Class C to fight aggressively—”

“They have surrounded a boy who is suffering badly from Hashimoto!”

“I already told you it was a neck disease. You should believe me now, Hikigaya-kun.....”

Suzune was feeling proud of herself.

“....” Hachiman....’Okay, stop talking!’
