COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

Hachiman took the initiative to contact Ichinose Honami and arranged to party in Suzune’s room.

It can be kept confidential enough.

“Ah... this... I really made you worry,” Ichinose suddenly apologized after coming over.

She seemed to be in good spirits.

It is truly admirable that she remains so strong despite suffering such unfair treatment.

“I just rented out the room,” Because it’s Suzune’s room, she will obviously be present there.

But well....

“…” Hachiman.

’At this point, I have to say that Horikita-san, you really don’t have any friends. How can you talk to someone so profit-oriented as soon as they walk in? It seems so inhumane. But this is also advantage of her straightforward character.’

So Hachiman just looked at them, keeping thoughts inside.

The other person who wanted to contact Ichinose has already spoken.

“Then let me interrupt. Are you going to change the way you deal with this incident? Ichinose-san, I don’t think this is a good way to go out,” Kushida asked very directly.

As someone who has experience in spreading rumors, she is well aware of how it can mutate and even have a huge impact if they are not controlled.

When she was in junior high school, one of her classmates jumped out from the floor and died because of rumors.

“.....” Kushida-chan, ’she just got paralysed for some weeks, okay? Don’t be so extreme with your power!’

And she vaguely felt that Ichinose might also choose to drop out of school.

She now needs to change Ichinose’s opinion, “Although this attack is only against you, I don’t think we can stand idly by, both from a personal perspective and for the common interests of class. So my suggestion is to let the school intervene. Just like your last huge points incident.”

”……Ah--”

It seemed that she had already guessed what Kushida would say so Ichinose did not show any surprise.

All she showed now was a wry smile.

Enemy is Sakayanagi from Class C.

She didn’t want to believe this before, but now, judging from Hashimoto’s deliberate release of rumors, this is beyond doubt.

Then incident can be completely regarded as an attack between classes.

As an excellent leader, Ichinose should at least deny it, instead of choosing to remain silent as he is doing now.

At least, judging from Kushida’s experience in handling things, Ichinose’s current way is obviously not the best, and she needs help.

“I think so too,” Suzune also expressed her opinion at this time, “I was also slandered in last pairing test. Not responding is not a good solution.”

After experiencing the fake angel Kushida, Suzune actually has a good impression of the Archangel Ichinose.

She doesn’t want to see such a person being maliciously slandered.

And popularity that Ichinose possesses allows her to do things that no one else can do.

For example, Ichinose could directly deny the rumor.

She denied all these false accusations!

Why did she keep silent? She is so popular, and once she denies them, many people will automatically stop believing them.

It’s like helping herself!

What is the reason why she doesn’t deny it now?

Suzune was quite confused, so now she could only talk to see if she could get any information out of Ichinose.

“I’m sorry,” But Ichinose shook her head gently, “I made you worry.”

“.....” It seems that her radio is broken, Suzune could just only sigh, “I want to know why you insist on current plan, but I don’t intend to force the result. There is just one thing Ichinose-san I hope you can understand. Silence can easily be understood as tacit consent, and I think this is why rumors have not cooled down at all in the past few days.”

Of course Ichinose understood this.

“Everyone is free to think whatever they want after hearing the rumors. This is Sakayanagi-san’s strategy to disrupt Class A, and I think the only way to crack it right now is to remain silent. This is also only way I can think of to deal with it,” Ichinose said with a tired expression.

But at the end of the conversation, she returned to her normal smile and politely left Suzune’s room.

“.....” Boom.

After Ichinose fired the door, Suzune still sat on the chair, puzzled.

Kushida crossed her hands, “I still don’t understand this fool. Why are you so quiet? Did she really do bad things in junior high school?”

Don’t treat everyone is like yo----

Thwack!

Ow! Ow!

“You deserved it for those rude words!”

“....I’m totally confused now. Who are you shouting at Kushida-san?” Suzune doesn’t know what is going on.

“• •” Kushida, who don’t know how to explain. She looked at her boss.

“You’ve done your best, so relax a little and read a book,” Hachiman tried to comfort her, “Mathematics, oh no, Japanese is also okay. Go have fun....”

“…” Suzune was speechless.

She was used to reading, but she also knew that ordinary people didn’t like to read so many books, so what on earth was this guy talking about?

Was he bullying her?

“I have a feeling that Ichinose-san... is hiding cruel nature,” Kushida said with her hands folded, “What she can’t do now is the most she can do. Once you stop resisting, bad things will happen....”

This is Kushida-san, who is good at reading people’s minds.

She is also good at getting closer to others.

Thereby obtaining a large amount of other people’s secrets.

So maybe what she said was true, and Ichinose really had some reason not to resist.

But Hachiman already knew this.

“Then you should think of a plan first. For example, go to office and report harassment of first-year students to current vice president. I hope he can rectify the school atmosphere.”

“President Horikita is away, and Kiriyama is on duty. Although his power is not strong enough, he is still the vice president of the student council after all. So I suggest making a report.”

“Otherwise, I don’t know what kind of even more outrageous rumors slandering Ichinose will be put in the shoe cabinet next time like she ate human flesh or raped a gi----”

“Boss, please stop talking!” Kushida-san took her job immediately.

“Can I go too?” And Suzune offered to accompany her..

“That’s annoying. I won’t do any harm!” Kushida pointed out the reason why Suzune wanted to follow her, “And shouldn’t you improve your opinion of me?”

“....” Suzune. “Because if Ichinose-san can’t hold on, then you’ll be the only person in this school who’s good at socializing, right?”

“So I suspect you may still harbor ill will towards Ichinose-san,” Suzune explained very seriously, “So I must go and supervise you.”

“....Why? Didn’t I help a lot already?”

“Your shouting and banging my pillow had only created matters worse for you, Kushida-san. I hope you will listen to my request politely or else.” Suzune was very cold today, looking down on this angel with her fists hanging.

“.....” Kushida who just got threatened with body harm.

“• ? •” She looked stunned.

Apparently, she just realized that things could develop in this way.

Because only advantage that makes her feel different from others is her affinity and communication skills, which allow her to quickly integrate into other people’s small teams.

This is something she is proud of.

But when she came to Advanced Nurturing High School, she found that Ichinose’s ability in this area was even stronger than hers.

Actually a little jealous of Ichinose.

She wanted to help because she was her so called friend.

But Ichinose is undoubtedly her biggest enemy in Kushida Empire.

So if Ichinose drops out of school, she will be the only one with max affinity in Advanced Nurturing High School.

Kushida found that she seemed to be a little moved, and even optimistic.

“.....” Hachiman took changes in this perverted girl’s expression very carefully. ’As expected, Kushida-san is still the same as always, foolish but appearing wise, she only looks smart....’

“Okay, then you two can go together. I have to meet someone later....”

“You want to meet someone else?” Kushida looked at him with some concern. ’Because at such a critical moment, Hikigaya-kun still has to meet someone. Is she a very important person?’

In fact, she was not wrong.

The way Hachiman just comforted Suzune while reading was indeed abnormal, because after Ichinose left, he found that he had received a message.

[Can you come out for a moment?]

He had made a note of the sender’s number.

Ichinose Honami.

After coming out of Horikita’s room, Hachiman did not take any action immediately.

Instead, he was standing alone in the corridor of girls’ dormitory, leaning on the railing and looking outside.

This is girls’ floor, so it was strange that a boy suddenly appeared.

However, he has been here so many times that girls around him are no longer surprised.

So from time to time, Hikigaya-kun would be approached by others.

It was not until more than ten minutes later that Hachiman started to move, but he did not take elevator, but went to the emergency stairs.

Sure enough, after walking for a while, he heard a sound and someone followed him.

He went straight down to the floor of his room.

Then he suddenly raised his head and looked back, and sure enough.

A girl with long golden-pink hair followed behind.

As expected, Ichinose did not go anywhere after coming out of Suzune’s room, but hid in the dark.

It seemed that she wanted to talk to him, but he was standing in public, so she couldn’t speak.

’So I watched him walk towards the stairs where few people would go, and then followed him up.....’

Hachiman deliberately slacked off in the corridor for more than ten minutes, and she was still waiting, which meant that she must have something important to say.

So two of them each had their own thoughts, and Hachiman took Ichinose to his room to talk after making sure he didn’t run into other classmates.

He guessed that she had something to say to him alone.

“Hikigaya——”

“Ichinose——”

However, when they got to room, sounds almost at the same moment.

“You speak first, Hikigaya-kun,” Even at this time, Ichinose was still so humble.

“So...“ Hachiman nodded, ”So you really won’t change your mind about the plan to deal with this incident?”

“…”

Sure enough, it is this again.

’Same as Horikita and Kushida-san.’

“I think silence is best way at the moment. If you ignore it, other party will eventually get tired of it and realize this kind of slander is ineffective,” Ichinose’s answer remained unchanged.

“No....” But Hachiman shook his head, “I mean, after being hurt once, you no longer trust anyone, and then hide secrets in your heart and never tell anyone.”

“Even you can’t forgive yourself?”

! !

Eh?

Hearing powerful but creepy words, Ichinose instantly turned into a scared little bunny with long ears.
