COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

Hirata’s lips were twitching, even he couldn’t keep a straight face anymore.

“Hikigaya-kun.....”

’You sick fuck! Don’t look at me now!’

In the last study session, Koenji also refused, and Hirata took over four students that he was supposed to be responsible for.

So equivalent to him teaching 10 alone.

However, for this exam, Hirata probably really didn’t want anyone to drop out, so he wanted one cheater to only teach 3 or 4 students.

But if that happens, won’t be enough points for top students in class.

So external help may be needed.

Regarding this, Hachiman sent a message to Ichinose.

However, he didn’t want to use the favors between himself and Ichinose, so used a transaction method.

Class B provides money, while A provides the people.

Since she could gather points, she didn’t refuse.

So arranged for five or six top students to come.

It’s like making up lessons.

Each make-up class is worth 10,000 points. If you make up 20 times in total, then a top student can earn 200,000 points.

Five or six top students will bring 1 million in revenue to class.

The school does not allow part-time jobs, so methods for students to obtain points are relatively simple.

However, the Virgin Angels in Class A like idea of making money by assisting with tutoring.

Although it was a bit boring, first graders began to study hard.

For example, Class D, students are often asked to study until 7 pm after school before being released.

Happened to pass by their class.

“Why can’t you solve a linear equation with two variables?”

“You probably learned to put chickens and rabbits in same cage in elementary school!”

Seeing that Kaneda-kun who was wearing glasses and looked like his uncle from another world seemed like he wanted to bang his head against the wall.

It seems that he is working very hard.

But it won’t be that easy for Hikigaya’s class.

Because in group study on 2nd day.

Hachiman was found by Hirata.

“Hikigaya-kun, before you go to Yukimura’s group, can you help Horikita-san first? In other words, please join her group today.”

Hachiman blinked.

Then he quickly understood what Hirata meant.

Originally, Hirata intended to continue study session according to the groups that had taken pairing test last semester, but there seemed to be some friction with some people last time, so he applied for a re-formation.

Even so, Hachiman would not be in Suzune’s group.

Her group was known to be fierce and talk too much, so when someone submitted a proposal to reorganize, her group members ran away one after another.

Finally, in Hirata’s arrangement, Suzune was specifically responsible for teaching poor students this time, but if it was just poor, then he should not be among them.

“I’m sorry, Hikigaya-kun, it was Horikita-san who asked you to go.”

“.....” Hachiman.

He took Suzune’s tutoring during holidays, so he was very confident about this exam.

But after all, it was Suzune’s request for help, which was rare, so Hachiman accepted it.

Then in library after school, Hachiman saw her group members.

Ike Kanji, Sudo Ken, Sotomura, and one other girl.

That girl wasn’t very pretty, and she didn’t have much presence in the class, so Hachiman wasn’t very familiar with her.

Suzune is indeed a top, and letting her be in charge of poor students was probably a consideration.

Because she was the only one who did not go out to play during holidays and had completed a semester’s course by self-study, she was very suitable to guide the poor students who knew nothing because she knew textbooks for heart.

“I feel like I’ve gotten used to taking exams once a month,” Suzune said to Hachiman while sitting on a chair with a textbook in hand.

Although she was holding a book, Suzune seemed a little absent minded, “....So what do you think regarding cheating?”

She was probably asking how Hachiman was going to make money.

This is probably her mindset.

Because it seems that every time he takes a test, Hikigaya gains something. ’So are you also considering this exam like opportunity to gain points?’

“I’m sorry,” But Hachiman refused her, ”The old questions cannot be used in exam. There is no other way except for students to study on their own. As for me, there is nothing I can do but pray that I can pass.”

“Really?” Suzune looked at him doubtfully, but her mood did get better when she learned there was nothing to cheat from.

But it is half-truth.

Because there is a solution.

It’s still about controlling points.

Ryuen has used it, and in order to be fair, the school should give other classes a chance as well.

However, only top students and of upper-middle level need to take lower scores.

This can also lower average score and give the poor students a break.

This is based on premise that even though poor students are garbage, can still achieve limited marks.

However, if school makes the questions very simple and even poor students can answer them, score control becomes dangerous.

Because such people are likely to get high scores without their permission.

So it’s half true.

It depends on luck to see difficulty of school’s test paper.

“Ah, I really don’t understand at all!”

Poor children have already started learning.

But very confused.

“No whispering,” But Suzune was quite strict, holding a compass.

“Do you not have any brain?”

“Why don’t you know this? This is something you should have learned when you entered school last semester!”

And her complaints were as terrible as ever, using ’you’ as her rhetoric to give insult.

Simply cannot understand the circuitry of a poor student’s brain.

Wow, Hachiman thought this kind of study would be really painful.

”Hikigaya-kun!”

It seems she has been scolded so much that people have asked him for help.

But is there any point in looking for him? If he talked to her he would be scolded too.

So, Hachiman chose to ignore it.

It was just that Suzune seemed to be on patrol and immediately noticed Hachiman looking around.

She looked at him with the eyes of a teacher, “Hikigaya-kun, are you studying?”

”Yes, Mam,” Hachiman answered but found that she was walking directly towards him.

“Let me see.”

Fuc-----

She came straight over to him, with a very pleasant smell on body.

At this time, Suzune also smiled, which was rare.

Then she even pinched Hachiman’s face, “Hikigaya-kun, why didn’t you do anything?!”

“Ouch...it hurts.” All the exercises on Hachiman’s desk were indeed blank.

“Just be glad, it’s not my compass.”

”Thank you, Hikigaya-kun!”

Upon seeing this scene, poor girl who had just been scolded immediately paid tribute to him, probably because she felt that Hachiman sacrificed himself for them and let be the only one to be scolded and punished.

Also, because of the seriousness of the situation, the one-hour study session ended and Hachiman was left alone by Suzune.

Hachiman passively opened his exercise book.

There are questions that Suzune came up with herself.

“You really haven’t studied at all, and you have the nerve to come to my study session,” Suzune said with a blank face.

“People have already left. Is it okay for you not to go back, Horikita?”

“It doesn’t matter. I’m studying when I go back anyway. And I haven’t been able to cook at night because of study sessions recently.”

This girl....Hachiman didn’t care anymore to be honest.

“And I’ve already finished this semester’s textbooks, and reading 2nd year ones.”

Then, you are excellent.

“Hikigaya-kun, stop talking nonsense and do those questions!”

It seemed Suzune realised Hachiman was trying to escape, and change topics.

She was pressuring now.

Do the questions.

Suzune prepared Japanese language.

Hikigaya-kun might need to fill in all gaps in other subjects, but this one doesn’t.

He looked at the question, and although he was the responsible type, the answer already appeared in his mind.

It’s just like 1+1=2, no need to think at all.

Hachiman felt like he was just copying the answers.

This is how he feels about the subject of Japanese.

If were to describe it, would be as if he is also a top student in this aspect.

There are perhaps only two or three people in his grade who can beat him.

There are so many answers, and when the questions come out, there are even several methods in his answer bank.

It’s just crazy.

About twenty minutes later, Suzune put down her second-grade textbook and said, “I asked you to do everything...all done correctly?”

”As expected, you are really good at this,” Suzune nodded with praise, “If I were to compete with you, I probably wouldn’t be able to write as detailed as you did.”

Then she seemed a little dissatisfied.

Pride of a top student.

Obviously, she needed to make up for other subjects during the holidays, but this was only that she had no idea how to help with, and even felt that other party was better than her.

“You are too biased in your studies,” Suzune looked at Hachiman’s answers several times in a row, then compared them with her own standard answers, and finally gave up her pride of being a top student.

Acknowledged fact that other party was also a master in a single subject.

“Since you are so strong in this subject, cooperate with me in acting. This batch of students and previous ones don’t like studying and are even a little bit resistant to pick up books, so if you can improve grades, then you can give a good performance. Prove that learning is effective. This may be able to attract their motivation and be more self conscious in the future.”

’No, no, no, they are not against learning, just afraid of you!’ Although he thought so in his heart, Hachiman still agreed to her request.

Because he found that Horikita-san was doing a good job.

It’s already starting to become smooth.

“I can get high scores in Japanese, and poor students will probably be motivated because they think my ability in this subject is average, so it may be effective. But there is one situation that you may not be able to accept.....”

“What?”

“My score may be higher than yours, because you never get a perfect score, right, Horikita?”

“….”

“💢”

“Very good.” Suzune’s spirit of a top student that had just been extinguished immediately felt challenged.

This was a different feeling from the last challenge from Kushida.

“You are so proud of yourself just because you got the exercise right once. Okay, then let’s compare scores during the exam, Hikigaya-kun.”

“...No”

“Why? Aren’t you really good at one subject? I just want to compare marks.....”

“...Forgive me, Horikita-san.”

Hachiman regretted saying such a thing, because such words would provoke a person whose brain only knew how to study.

Suzune will also specialize studying Japanese in the future.

Although he was forced, Hikigaya had no choice but to start studying.

Entire first grade was immersed in written exams.

But soon, most people’s idea of studying seriously was disrupted.

Because an unexpected news spread among 1st grade.
