COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

Because Sakayanagi is a petty person, and when she is attacked, she wants to fight back fiercely.

Ichinose made her words very clear, and she herself is very popular in the school.

So even though every freshman got report letter from shoe cabinet, no one continued to talk about this topic.

This is what happens when a weakling attacks a super popular idol.

There’s not even a spark.

’She is totally different from the weak Horikita-san.....’ Hachiman watched this farce indifferently.

He had just changed his shoes when he found that his cell phone vibrated.

It’s a message from Suzune.

For a while, he just stared at the notification icon with troubled eyes....’what a scary timing, you have....I was just bad mouthing her....’

Let’s get to class quickly.

She was probably there.

“You’re really late today.“

When arrived at the class, Hachiman was about to sit down when Suzune immediately spoke.

Um? Hachiman discovered that she was a little different today.

Usually, Suzune would come to the classroom early, but when there was still some time before class, she would be very independent or willing to take out her textbooks to prepare.

But now her desk was empty.

Today she was also quite stern.

Hair on the left side is braided into a small braid, which seems to be more lively.

“A little bit of trouble happened, and then I saw some excitement. So what?” Hachiman looked at her. ’I feel like a cheating husband coming late from work....’

“Is it about this matter?” Suzune said, and took out a letter from cabinet.

A white envelope, and inside was a piece of paper.

The words printed on it are:

Ichinose Honami used unfair means to obtain a huge amount of points.

By Sakayanagi Arisu.

This is same letter of complaint that Hachiman received.

The person who wrote report letter is really crazy.

It seems that he didn’t just send the report letters to a bunch of first-year students, but also went through shoe cabinets of every first-year.

What a pervert.

But Suzune’s actions mean...

She came to school early and went to change her shoes and found the letter.

So took to classroom instead of waiting at the shoe closet to see how things would develop.

This is very Horikita Suzune.

“Well, you may not have noticed that not only Ichinose but also Sakayanagi Arisu, whose name was mentioned in the letter, was freaked out,” Hachiman tried to explain his actions, “I came late because they were confronting each other.”

“Are you sure you weren’t doing something else?”

“.... what’s that supposed to mean?”

“I don’t think your words are credible just enough. So is this Sakayanagi’s conspiracy, and you are trying to save her face or is there someone else behind it?”

“???” Hachiman.....’is there a reason you dropped -san. And, why am I being doubted so fiercely?’

But after asking this, she didn’t seem to want an answer, and said directly, “But no matter what, Ichinose-san is in danger.”

Suzune was initially repulsed by Kushida’s image as a good person.

But when she met Ichinose, who shared the same friendly stance as Kushida, she found that she didn’t hate Ichinose nor was she very repulsed by her.

Of course, that doesn’t mean she wants to help Ichinose.

But feel this method is a bit excessive.

Besides, Ichinose’s class also arranged for top students to take part in this exam.

Although previous alliance contract had long since expired, she was still quite confident in Ichinose.

“You probably found the report letter in the shoe cabinet and came straight here, but you didn’t notice that matter of the report letter has been resolved,” Hachiman shook his head and said.

“....Already solved?” Suzune’s eyes widened slightly.

Because she herself had experienced the hurt of rumors in previous pairing exam, she knew how terrible it felt to be framed. ’Being reported like this, Ichinose-san must feel bad....’

“Yes, it’s solved. Every student’s shoe cabinet has the same letter of accusation stuffed in it, and Ichinose has become the focus of attention as soon as she appeared. She has already applied to student council to prove her innocence, and her personal charm also prevents others from questioning her, let alone saying anything bad about her.....”

”Ah, this....just wow,” Suzune was stunned for a moment.

Because when she was caught up in the crisis of rumors, Hikigaya took her away directly.

It was processed next day.

But Ichinose...was it solved so simply and directly?

The comparison between two made her feel that she might not be a sister of Manabu, and was not even as good as Ichinose.

It is a sad emotion.

“...I want to be popular.”

“No, what’s more important is to see what moves the opponent will use against Ichinose next,” Hachiman added quickly, before this girl had any more bad thoughts, “This is something we need to pay attention to.”

Because of a small letter of complaint.

Ichinose thought someone was targeting her.

Sakayanagi thought someone was targeting her.

Is it really like this? Is it just like this?

Hachiman doesn’t like to label things casually, but he feels this matter should not be simple.

All the first-year students received letters in their shoe cabinets.

Who would put letters in everyone’s shoe cabinets?

There are 159 first-year students in total.

That means 159 shoe cabinets.

Who has so much patience?

And it is just a report of a claim with a huge number of points, which can be easily debunked.

So is it necessary to mobilize so many troops?

Or do you want to attract everyone’s attention from the beginning, and hope that everyone will start discussing it, and the other party will continue to take action.

And next action is what the other party wants to do.

“...Then what the guy who sent the report letter did was really bad. I thought Ryuen-kun was such a disgusting person and liked to use such conspiracies, but it seems there are still many people like him in our school,” Suzune couldn’t help but sigh heavily on her desk, “I really can’t see the good future of society at all.”

“• •” Hachiman....’It’s better if you, a sociopath, don’t talk about the good future of world at all!’

She is right.

The purpose of Advanced Nurturing High School is to deliver outstanding talents to society.

But if these talents are fond of using schemes and tricks, then roots are just basically rotten.

That’s why she expressed such emotion.

But Horikita-san, adult world is not that beautiful.

Even if they are not trained in bad way, many people may not necessarily be beneficial to society when they grow up.

“And...if the culprit sends a report letter to every first-year student, it will be difficult to find who is behind the scenes,” Suzune was very talkative today, even added.

“Since there are no cameras, you are right,“ Hachiman nodded a little to get in her good graces, “But it doesn’t mean there are no traces at all.”

”What do you mean?” Suzune looked over in confusion.

Deja vu....

“....After Ichinose and Sakayanagi arrived and left, students also left. But I arranged for someone to wait over there.”

“Is that your Karuizawa again? You arranged her at the shoe closet? Do you think criminal will show up? What an idiot...” Suzune shook her head after thinking about it.

As Hachiman said this, his phone notified him that he had received a photo.

“what the…” Suzune was Hachiman’s deskmate, and when she noticed his behavior, walked over and approached him.

Hikigaya also quickly discovered that she had changed to same shampoo as Kamuro-san yesterday, and both of them had a hint of jasmine scent.

“…..” Hikigaya.

Wrong....Don’t think about that.

Since it was not a secret that could not be told to others, Hachiman opened the message he received.

It’s a photo sent by Karuizawa-san.

She just took a photo of a classmate’s shoe cabinet.

It was opened, revealing only a pair of white indoor shoes.

“This is Manabe Shiho’s shoe cabinet It’s been more than half a month since she dropped out...But school is not as diligent as immediately assigning staff to change the signs when evaluation scores change. Manabe’s shoe cabinet has not been cancelled yet.....” As he said this, Karuizawa sent another photo.

It looks like a shoe cabinet is closed.

The name is Shiho Manabe.

“Manabe’s shoe cabinet is located in the middle. If someone were to put envelopes into each, hers should have been put in as well. But there wasn’t any....That means suspect actually knew that Manabe was a dropout, so it would be meaningless even if he had mailed the envelope. So the suspect’s identity is actually...”

Actually, she is a first grader.

In other words, this was a backstab from a classmate.

“...you really ordered Karuizawa again. But it seems you have trained her well.” Suzune kept her eyes noticed on Hikigaya-kun.

“???” Hachiman....’Now seriously, what’s actually wrong with Horikita today?’

During lunch break, Hachiman went to third floor as agreed.

”Meow meow--”

Hachiman arrived at the private room and found a furry cat with black ears running towards him.

He seems to have had a physique that attracted small animals since he was a child.

Hachiman squatted down and stroked the cat’s head which she had deliberately rubbed against him.

It’s so pitiful.

It was originally a very cute cat, but now it has gradually lost its cuteness and is developing in direction of being beautiful.

It has fluffy silver-white hair and dark blue pupils.

Plus they look like such family members.

It has transformed into a princess ragdoll cat.

“Hikigaya-kun, you seem to like small animals very much,” Sakayanagi was already in the private room.

This cat was originally Kamuro-san’s.

To her ears it’s like, ’Hikigaya-kun, you seem to like small things very much.....’

“• •” Kamuro-san.

But unfortunately, it has grown from 2 to 7 kilograms.

Moreover, large cats like Ragdoll Cats are the type whose weight will not stop, so it may develop to 14 kilograms.

“I have one at home so I’m more friendly to cats.....”

“Oh!” Sakayanagi probably just asked casually and didn’t continue the topic.

And Hachiman did not shirk his responsibility.

”I didn’t do anything. I had no reason to do it. Besides, I don’t have any puppies. I just arranged for Karuizawa to do the work, but she won’t put all 159 shoe cabinets into the envelope one by one. This project is too huge!”

Then, criminal is a boy or someone who can instruct girls to do these things and have no mercy on women.

From this perspective, Sakayanagi has actually locked on a candidate in her mind.

“What are you going to do next?” Hachiman asked, looking at her who seemed to be in deep thought.

Because from his words, he has revealed several pieces of information.

First is to prove his innocence.

There are 159 shoe cabinets.

There are 160 shoe cabinets for first-year students, so with this reminder, she might check of Manabe, the classmate who dropped out of school.

Once check Manabe’s shoe cabinet, it would be easy to find out that culprit is a first-year student.

“I don’t like being looked down upon,” Sakayanagi said darkly.

Although she still maintained an elegant and decent smile, her words were very dangerous, “And since you are attacking me, you can’t help but get hurt in response.”

’Sakayanagi is holding a grudge as always. Next, I’ll just wait for her retaliation.... ’ Hachiman thought to himself.

“Your food.....”

“Ah, thank you Kamuro-san for your hard work.....”
