Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1098 - 596: The World Inside the World Tree! (Part 2)

The top is semicircular, seemingly irregular, as if it were a door sketched out by a child on this wall.

The door has a wooden texture. Despite being a door in the newborn world tree, it carries an aura of antiquity.

”That wooden door...” Shi Wanyun displayed an expression of surprise.

”Ying!” Keke released his grip on Xu Xin’s pant leg and ran towards the wooden door.

Xu Xin looked up: ”We haven’t reached the treehouse of the world tree yet. Here... is the interior of that root we were just at. We need to go up to enter the world tree itself.”

Everyone looked up.

”But, how can this place be so big?” Zeng Tao asked in confusion, ”That root is indeed thick, but not this—thick, right?”

She drew a large circle with her hands.

”...Space capability.” Xu Xin suddenly spoke, ”It’s similar to our backpack. It seems small outside, but inside, it’s vast.”

This treehouse seed had been influenced by Xu Ying and that Xu Xin.

They not only made themselves the owners of this world tree but also imparted time and space manipulation abilities to the world tree seed.

Those two were individuals capable of controlling time and space.

”That must be the reason.” Shi Wanyun said softly, ”The world tree over there likely doesn’t have this space-expanding capability.”

Is it a unique ability of this particular world tree?

”If it really has such an ability,” Jin Yue still gazed upward, ”might the space above also...”

Everyone had already considered this possibility.

The group exchanged glances for a few seconds, then collectively gasped.

”Wait, wait, wait!” Zeng Tao felt her brain wasn’t coping well, ”The space above will expand too? Isn’t it already big enough?”

”The area here is probably... three or four hundred square meters. From the outside, the root’s diameter is just a bit over two meters, and the cross-sectional area is only three or four square meters... hsss...!” Lou Fei’Er calculated and then gasped again.

”Expanded by about a hundred times.” Shi Wanyun concluded, ”If the area above expands as much...”

”Let’s go up and check.”

Xu Xin directly walked towards the wooden door.

”Ying ying! Ying ying ying!” Keke was already waiting at the wooden door, waving his little claws for them to hurry over.

The girls, still in shock, saw Xu Xin walking forward and quickly followed.

”Can we go up after passing through that door?” Lou Fei’Er asked.

”Yes, that door is the entrance to the elevator.” Shi Wanyun said.

Indeed, the door’s design was very similar to the elevator door she had seen inside that world tree.

She recognized it at a glance.

”There’s really an elevator!”

”Yes, powered by the biological energy of the world tree.”

”Impressive...”

Xu Xin reached the door, Keke climbed onto his shoulder. As he was about to push the door open, it opened by itself.

The somewhat hasty-looking door was surprisingly thick, at least fifteen centimeters thick.

”Wow, and it’s automatic? Such a thick door.” Zeng Tao curiously looked beyond the door.

Behind the door was a space similar to the size of a standard elevator.

Xu Xin walked in immediately.

Then, he was momentarily stunned.

The four girls followed in, inspecting the interior of this elevator.

”How should I put it... primitive?” Lou Fei’Er commented, ”If you hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t know this was an elevator.”

”Not an elevator, a lift, a biological lift.” Shi Wanyun corrected.

However, it was really different from what she had seen inside that world tree.

The lift over there was wooden and almost identical to human elevators, square-shaped.

Here, it was wrapped in countless vine-like arms... a large cocoon.

The cocoon wasn’t square but was a sphere, with only a small part of the ground being flat.

The five stood on this small part of the floor, feeling cramped.

After they all entered, the heavy wooden door automatically closed, and then the vines started to move!

The girls suddenly prepared themselves for danger.

But the vines didn’t attempt to harm Xu Xin and the others; instead, they grew and wriggled, completely covering the spot where the wooden door had been.

Thus, they were entirely enclosed within this vine ball.

”Wh-what’s going on!” Zeng Tao looked at the now-sealed entrance, somewhat dumbfounded, ”Are we trapped here?”

Shi Wanyun and Jin Yue looked at Xu Xin, who had been silent, now with a slightly open mouth, staring at the ground.

He seemed to be shocked by something.

Lou Fei’Er shook his arm and asked, ”Say something, why are you spacing out!”

”Ah...” Xu Xin came to, smiling, ”Sorry, this world tree really astonished me.”

”What’s wrong, did you discover something?” Shi Wanyun asked.

”Not much. Just that I can now control this elevator to go up or down freely.” Xu Xin calmed himself.

”Then let’s go up quickly!” Zeng Tao urged impatiently.

But the other three heard the implied meaning in Xu Xin’s words.

”You mean...” Shi Wanyun slowly lowered her head, glancing at the ground, ”We can now... go down?”

”Yes.” Xu Xin nodded, ”We can go down. Beneath the world tree, there seems to be an underground space.”

He perceived this the moment he entered and was immediately astonished.
