Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1087 - 592: Suspicion (2)

Moreover, these mountain ranges have formed natural barriers, making it easy to defend and hard to attack.

”Right? I think it’s great here too. I was the one who suggested this place initially!” Xu Ying chuckled softly, then turned serious, ”Okay, sis-in-law, we’re not here for a vacation! We have to be careful with everything!”

The two entered the valley.

”Why is there nothing here?” Li Wenxi asked, puzzled.

Inside the mountain, there’s lush vegetation, flourishing under the illumination of the Crystal Stone on the dome.

”You can see it at a glance, what’s hidden here? Most installations are inside the mountain,” Xu Ying explained.

”Inside the mountain?” Li Wenxi was surprised, ”So concealed.”

The two continued forward.

”Huh? Is that... a drone?”

Li Wenxi accidentally looked up and saw a shadow flying by, resembling a small drone.

”Yeah, the Wei Family has already spotted us.” Xu Ying pointed around, ”Actually, there are hidden cameras here, and they can listen to what we’re saying. If it were someone else here, they might have been arrested or attacked by now.”

She then pointed at her own face and giggled, ”This face of mine is my pass.”

”Such tight security!” Li Wenxi exclaimed, ”It’s truly the Wei Family!”

Upon hearing Xu Ying say they could be heard, Li Wenxi immediately understood Xu Ying’s message.

It was clear that she was telling Li Wenxi not to speak freely here.

The two continued walking.

Xu Ying was observing the surroundings.

Instead of teleporting inside directly, she chose to walk in from outside to see if there have been any changes in this area.

And indeed, the defenses here were even more stringent.

Numerous hidden cameras were around, and she even saw heavy machine guns concealed in the tree canopies.

These weren’t here before.

”Ugh, it’s so slow walking, they’ve already spotted us, we’re not exactly uninvited guests. Let’s go straight inside!”

After scoping out the environment, Xu Ying wasted no more time, grabbed Li Wenxi’s hand, and initiated teleportation.

”Wait, this just...”

Before Li Wenxi could finish her sentence, she was swept up by Xu Ying in a whirlwind.

The scenery before them instantly shifted.

From lush greenery to a steel jungle.

”Wow...” Li Wenxi was truly amazed, ”Is this... inside the mountain?”

A vast metallic space.

The entire space was at least a hundred meters high, enough to build thirty or forty-story buildings within.

The area was vast, covering the equivalent of dozens of football fields.

Within this space, numerous gigantic machines stood tall, most of them stationary, with only a small portion in operation, and the place was deserted.

A... giant factory!

All around, encased in metal walls, a massive automated factory!

No one expected such a presence inside the mountain!

Xu Ying quickly assessed the situation here and then relaxed slightly. Things seemed alright.

”Haha, we have many factories like this here!” Xu Ying said to Li Wenxi with a somewhat proud expression.

”Many?” Li Wenxi turned her head to look at her, ”How many are there?”

”As many as there are mountains, that’s how many factories we have.” Xu Ying waved her hand.

”Mountains...? That’s a lot!”

Li Wenxi felt a little excited.

Once the current issues are resolved, these factories will all be theirs in the future.

Their power would be significantly enhanced!

Upon entering, both of them noticed the cameras in the unmanned factory, with a faint red light blinking.

This indicated they were still under surveillance.

”Alright then, I just wanted to show you this place. We should head out.”

Without waiting for Li Wenxi to speak, Xu Ying once again grabbed Li Wenxi’s hand.

The two teleported again.

This time, they arrived directly before what seemed like an ancient, classical building.

Yet this was not inside the mountain, but outside.

Nestled between the mountain gaps, a seemingly elegant courtyard stood here.

”This is...” Li Wenxi looked up at the gate of the courtyard.

No plaque, no name.

She turned back to look.

The surrounding mountain terrain obscured it, surrounded by tall vegetation taller than the tallest buildings in the courtyard.

With gaps in the mountains, only one side was exposed, while the other three were enveloped by mountains.

This courtyard was almost completely hidden within the mountain ranges.

If someone who didn’t know its location came to look for it, they might get lost for days or nights amid the forest and mountains without finding it.

”The Wei Family’s courtyard, where the Wei Family’s... core members live.”

When speaking about core members, Xu Ying’s voice paused slightly.

With Wei Bai turned traitor, there might not be many normal ones among the Wei Family’s core members...

Either they’re with him, or...

They have been replaced.

But Wei Shishi also lives here; she should be fine.

At that moment, the courtyard gate before them slowly, automatically opened.

Even though this courtyard looked like a classical one, it was just a facade.

Inside, it encompassed the highest technology of the underground human world, just like this seemingly wooden gate, actually painted with wood patterns over a titanium alloy door.
