Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1058: Chapter 582: Someone’s Coming?

Just right, there’s a newly prepared excellent test site nearby.

The groove that was just dug up.

”Boom!”

After firing a cannon at the groove, Xu Xin and Zeng Tao immediately looked at the groove that had just been bombarded.

”Wow, this power, it’s way stronger than explosive crossbows!”

Zeng Tao was extremely delighted, ”The giant cannon I made is unbelievably powerful!”

”This power... is indeed impressive.” Xu Xin touched his chin and nodded.

It’s more than impressive.

The shell fired by this giant cannon is entirely made by concentrating gunpowder, and it exploded violently upon touching the bottom of the groove.

The exposed root of the world tree at the bottom of the groove seemed as if bitten by an invisible giant mouth at the moment of the explosion, with a large chunk disappearing instantly.

Then, the sound of the explosion reached the two people’s ears, and the smoke from the explosion slowly rose from the groove.

The blast radius of this cannon is almost the same as that of the explosive crossbows, but the power is visibly much stronger!

Moreover, this cannon is only a prototype version, merely a stone cannon!

If it were a purple-grade steel cannon or even a meteorite cannon...

The power would probably be immense!

”Well done.” Xu Xin patted Zeng Tao on the head.

”Don’t pat my head!” Zeng Tao said this, but he didn’t dodge, instead laughingly said, ”It’s really strong, really strong! In the future, I’ll be invincible with a giant blade for close combat and a giant cannon for distance!”

This cannon is strong, but its portability is very poor. For now, probably only Zeng Tao and Wang Lei can use this cannon effortlessly.

Others, like Xu Xin, although they can lift it, can at most use it as a portable fixed mortar, unable to aim freely.

But it’s still good.

”Brother Xin! What’s going on!” Not far from them, Wang Lei shouted from his treehouse.

Several other explorers also peeked their heads to look this way. Wen Guixin and Zhao Xiaochuan even immediately came down from their treehouse and ran over, ”What happened?”

Even those ordinary survivors in the distance all looked over.

During this tense moment, the sound of the giant cannon explosion immediately tightened their nerves.

Xu Xin quickly explained the situation, and only then did they relax and return to their treehouses.

Taking this opportunity, Xu Xin tried a few more shots.

The cannon can be fired continuously, which made him very pleased.

However, the disadvantage is that the range of the cannon is not very far, with a hundred meters being the limit.

Because the cannonball is made by concentrating gunpowder, beyond a hundred meters, this concentrated cannonball cannot maintain its form, and even if it doesn’t hit anything, it will explode automatically.

But it’s already quite good.

After all, it’s a weapon that Zeng Tao can carry with him, considered as his own gun, and a hundred-meter range is sufficient.

”So... since I’ve built the cannon, shouldn’t I be injected with the gene serum now!” Zeng Tao put away the giant cannon, eyes shining as he looked at Xu Xin.

Xu Xin looked at the sky.

There shouldn’t be any major issues tonight.

”Alright, then I’ll take you. However, Lou Fei’Er and others aren’t here, you...”

”Then I’ll just go to your treehouse.” Zeng Tao said indifferently, ”It’s just being unconscious for an hour or two, and then taking a bath, right?”

Hmm...

”Okay, let’s go.”

...

Underground world.

The Wei Family deployed all their military equipment, conducting a carpet search throughout the city.

Although the other two families expressed their discontent with the Wei Family’s large-scale operation, it was to no avail.

Searching for the Wei Family’s Patriarch, Wei Bai, is a very significant matter.

Aside from expressing their discontent, the other two families couldn’t really stop them.

The Yuan Family made a remark, and Wei Shishi immediately suspected them and was about to search the Yuan Family’s territory.

Ultimately, although no search took place, the other two families quieted down.

Meanwhile, Xu Ying and Li Wenxi seized this opportunity to get on a helicopter, heading towards the dome of the underground world.

They want to verify their hypothesis above.

Soon, the helicopter flew to nearly three thousand meters high, near the dome.

”These crystal stones, they’re actually so big!” Li Wenxi was amazed.

From below three thousand meters, these crystal stones looked like pebbles on a pebble path, densely and randomly arranged.

But upon closer inspection, these pebble-sized crystal stones are actually the size of small houses.

Moreover, these crystal stones have significant gaps between them. Although they can’t destroy the crystal stones, they can mine through the gaps between them and dig upwards.

According to Li Wenxi’s investigation, above is a large area of metal ore.

”This is the original form of the Crystal Stones.” Xu Ying explained loudly while carefully observing the dome, ”The original city was built under a crystal mine, and these are actually exposed ore crystals.”

The roar of the helicopter blades made Xu Ying have to speak loudly for Li Wenxi to hear.

”The top is actually a crystal mine?!” Li Wenxi was truly shocked this time and immediately turned to look at Xu Ying, ”And the Crystal City on the ground...”

”It’s all made from this kind of ore. Hey, fly thirty meters forward!” Xu Ying instructed the helicopter pilot.
