Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1096 - 595: How Do We Get Up There? (Part 3)

”Because this tree is quite different from the one I saw before.” Shi Wanyun looked towards the sprawling canopy that stretched for several kilometers.

Although overall it’s shorter than the one she had seen, the area covered by its canopy is even... far greater than the previous one.

It’s really different.

As a result, her mood is really good now.

Moreover, she’s become more talkative.

Previously, Shi Wanyun would never have revealed her whereabouts to anyone other than Xu Xin, except for a select few, others knew nothing about her situation.

But now, she doesn’t care anymore.

Perhaps it’s her intuition; she now feels that with this tree in the world, at least within this Crystal City, she basically doesn’t need to worry about anything anymore.

Ji Chaoyang, on the other hand, looked at Xu Xin: ”You should know how to get up there, right? From my introduction, I can see that you and Xu Ying are the initial holders of this tree.”

But Xu Xin had been frowning slightly since the beginning.

The reason he hadn’t taken any action yet, and was still chatting below, was because he was searching for a way up.

He really didn’t know how to get up there...

Xu Xin thought that as one of the owners of the World Tree, he just needed to think, and the roots of the World Tree would drop down like a treehouse and take them up.

But... it didn’t.

He had just tried to touch a few hanging roots of the World Tree, but there was still no response.

”Um... I don’t know how to get up there.”

Seeing everyone else looking at him, Xu Xin showed a slightly embarrassed expression and spoke the truth.

”Huh? Can’t we use the roots of the World Tree?” Qin Yunlong grabbed a root and shook it.

It was very sturdy, he couldn’t move it.

Xu Xin shook his head: ”No, it should be different from how you enter the treehouse.”

”...I think so too.” Qi Xuefei looked at those roots, ”These roots are thicker than a person’s waist, trying to have them wrap around us like a treehouse and take us up isn’t easy.”

It’s like... trying to tie up a beetle with a rope.

Either you can’t tie it up, or you crush it directly.

”Then how are we supposed to get up there?” Zeng Tao looked up, ”We aren’t supposed to climb up the roots, are we?”

”What are you thinking?” Xu Xin said irritably, ”If you want to climb, you can try.”

”I’m not trying!” Zeng Tao shook his head like a rattle drum.

”How about the trunk?” Ji Chaoyang walked to the trunk and touched it, ”Could there be a way up inside the trunk?”

”Ah! Like a shortcut inside a snowy mountain?” Zhao Xiaochuan clapped his hands, ”It’s very possible!”

”...I didn’t find anything. I just walked around it, touched it, and didn’t find any way to enter the trunk.” Xu Xin shook his head.

He had been trying to find a way into the World Tree.

If he hadn’t been unable to find a way into the World Tree, he would’ve gone up already.

”It’s not the trunk...?” Ji Chaoyang also frowned, although Xu Xin said so, he still walked around, but still found nothing.

The roots couldn’t take people up, and the trunk had no entrance.

Everyone was a bit distressed, looking up at the canopy base at least seven or eighty meters high.

Are we really not going up?

Do we need to fly to get up there?

”Hey, Xu Xin!” At this moment, Lou Fei’Er patted Xu Xin’s arm and pointed in a direction, ”Look over there, isn’t there a thicker root?”

Since only she spoke, everyone looked in the direction she pointed.

Indeed, that root was thicker than the few nearby, with a diameter of about two meters, but...

”Sister Fei’Er, that root isn’t that special, just look around, there are at least a dozen roots that thick around here.” Wang Lei pointed in several directions around them.

Indeed, thick roots are fewer compared to relatively thin ones, but the total number is still considerable.

”But haven’t you noticed, those thick roots, each one is connected to the ground!” Lou Fei’Er quickly said, ”Maybe there’s something like an elevator inside.”

”An elevator... no way? An elevator inside a World Tree?” Zhao Xiaochuan scratched his head.

”It should be something like a load-bearing column, right?” Qin Yunlong speculated, ”Even if there really is an elevator, isn’t the inside of a load-bearing column not hollow?”

”I’ll go take a look. You guys try other ways.” Xu Xin said, turning to look at Lou Fei’Er and smiled, ”Maybe you’re right?”

Seeing Xu Xin believed in what she said, Lou Fei’Er was immediately pleased: ”I’ll go with you to have a look!”

With that, she followed him.

Zeng Tao and Jin Yue exchanged a glance, and immediately followed suit.

Shi Wanyun also followed up.

Wang Lei looked enviously at the few beauties following Xu Xin and said, ”Now with the World Tree, Brother Xin’s life is going to be even more comfortable...”

Catching up to Xu Xin and the group, Zeng Tao still felt it unbelievable and said to Lou Fei’Er: ”An elevator or something is impossible, right? If it’s not an elevator, those roots aren’t that thick either. Imagining there would be a spiral staircase to climb inside seems unlikely.”

”Well, let’s try it.”

”Something similar to an elevator, is still very possible.” Xu Xin said as he walked.

Something similar to an elevator is nothing but a lift driven by biomass, right?

He had seen it in Shi Wanyun’s memories.

Maybe... that’s really the case?

Soon, the group arrived at the nearest thick root.

Xu Xin reached out to touch the root.

”How is it?” The few girls looked at him.

Xu Xin’s smile widened: ”You guessed it right.”
