Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1078 - 589: Is It... Helping Us? (Part 2)

But the difference in size was an unbridgeable chasm.

After the Lake Giant Python felt pain, it suddenly started rushing forward at extreme speed!

But it didn’t go straight; instead, it began circling around the Tyrannosaurus herd!

Its crawling speed was insanely fast; its massive body was about to form a closed loop, wrapping the entire Tyrannosaurus herd inside!

The Tyrannosaurus herd reacted quickly—or rather, the controller of the Tyrannosaurus herd reacted—every Tyrannosaurus exploded into motion, charging out of this encirclement formed by the giant snake’s body.

But the python’s speed was too fast. Even though it needed to circle a huge arc to surround the Tyrannosaurus herd, it still completed the move in an instant.

Only a dozen-plus Tyrannosaurus managed to escape the encirclement; all the others were locked in by the python’s body!

The trapped Tyrannosaurus went even crazier, launching biting attacks against the python’s body.

The Lake Giant Python then started to spiral and constrict at high speed again, just like an ordinary boa constricting its prey, looping all the Tyrannosaurus it had surrounded ring by ring, and then began to squeeze tight.

This time it wasn’t just Xu Xin—every survivor in Crystal City heard the Tyrannosaurus’ unbelievably shrill screams!

Xu Xin even heard the sound of bones being crushed, and he took a sharp breath as goosebumps broke out along his arms.

This Tyrannosaurus pack was being crushed to death just like Ma Hongwei back then!

”Too... too... too damn strong!!”

”This... this is a bit too intense, isn’t it!”

”So this is the law of the jungle between giant beasts...”

”Just thinking about how those Tyrannosaurus died... eek!!”

”Hey, you think Tyrannosaurus meat tastes good?”

”Fuck, you wanna eat meat from gene-resurrected mutant beasts?! You got a death wish or what!”

”Ah! The remaining Tyrannosaurus are charging at us!”

”They’re so fast!”

At this moment, the dozen-plus Tyrannosaurus that had escaped the snake’s encirclement stopped paying any attention to it. They stretched their powerful hind legs and sprinted madly toward Crystal City, toward the treehouse cluster!

The one controlling them had realized by now that the Tyrannosaurus’ target wasn’t the python, but the World Tree!

These last dozen or so, they could not afford to lose any more!

They were no longer plodding along like before, but were sprinting at full speed toward this side!

Partly to get away from the Lake Giant Python as fast as possible, and partly to destroy the World Tree as soon as they could, before any more unexpected variables appeared!

Their speed was terrifyingly fast, even breaking past a hundred kilometers an hour.

For such massive bipedal runners as Tyrannosaurus, that speed was nothing short of astounding.

So these blood-striped mutant Tyrannosaurus could actually run this fast!

But...

”Over here, we’re already fully prepared.” Xu Xin took a deep breath. ”You people gave us way too much prep time!”

As he spoke, he shouted downward, ”Qin Fu, how’s the layout on the ground?!”

Qin Fu had been down below overseeing the pangolins’ digging the whole time. Hearing Xu Xin’s shout, he immediately yelled back, ”It’s basically done. With each Tyrannosaurus weighing over ten tons, they’ll definitely collapse the ground!”

”Good!” Xu Xin clenched his fist and shouted toward all the surrounding treehouses, ”Everyone, we only need to deal with a dozen or so Tyrannosaurus now. Don’t hoard your weapons—attack with everything you’ve got! Victory or defeat comes down to this!”

”Got it, Brother Xin!”

”Blow their asses up!”

”Tyrannosaurus? Let them see the crystallization of intelligent life’s technology!”

The Tyrannosaurus had already stepped into Crystal City and were rampaging down its streets!

At this time, Ji Chaoyang also dropped a reminder in the group chat.

”There are thirteen Tyrannosaurus charging toward us in total. They’ll reach our position in less than a minute. We’ve already set traps underground—when they collapse the ground, they’ll be temporarily trapped in pits. Take that chance to go absolutely berserk on them! Remember, aim for vital spots like the eyes and back of the head!”

High-level mutant creatures were not easy opponents.

Don’t be fooled by how easily the Lake Giant Python killed them—that was only because its power far surpassed theirs.

For Xu Xin and these survivors, breaking through their defenses would be extremely difficult!

So the best approach was to focus fire on their weak points!

”Roger!”

”Understood!”

”We’ll get it done!”

Just after everyone replied, the last thirteen Tyrannosaurus were already practically at arm’s length, even charging past the outermost survivor treehouses!

They ignored the treehouses completely, roaring as they stampeded straight toward the World Tree.

Every heavy step of their massive bodies made the surrounding ground tremble!

The area around the World Tree was like it was having an earthquake; some people could barely keep their footing!

Then...

”Boom...!”

A section of ground collapsed, and a blood-striped Tyrannosaurus screeched as it stepped straight into a giant pit over five meters deep!

Right after that, several more Tyrannosaurus stepped into thin air and toppled headfirst into pits.

Bear in mind, a Tyrannosaurus might be over ten meters long, but its height was only four to six meters. Falling into a pit over five meters deep was basically like a human dropping into a pit nearly two meters deep.

A human could still use their hands to climb out, but a Tyrannosaurus’ forelimbs had already degraded—getting out would be insanely difficult!

”Open fire!!!”

”Boom boom boom boom boom!!”

”Blow them to hell!!!”

”Boom boom boom boom boom boom!!!”

In that instant, whether ordinary survivors or members of the Explorers, no one held back their weapons anymore—they all went to town on these trapped beasts!
