Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1083 - 591: It’s Panicking

This substance can’t kill the World Tree, but it can delay its maturity.

If Shi Wanyun really injects this according to the other party’s intentions, delaying the World Tree’s maturity by a few days might not be a problem.

”Hmm...” Keke lay in Xu Xin’s arms, tilting her little head to look at this agent.

”When can you communicate with them?” Xu Xin directly put away the virus agent and asked Shi Wanyun, ”Today? Or did you receive it last night?”

”There were clues last night,” Shi Wanyun said softly, ”That mysterious voice didn’t contact me last night, but last night I could communicate with survivors from other regions in the world channel.”

Xu Xin was shocked: ”Are you the only survivor in Area 1?”

”I believe I’m the only one,” Shi Wanyun nodded, ”And last night I already knew part of their plan. I didn’t tell you because the risk of exposing my identity was too high.”

Xu Xin first frowned, then nodded.

Her caution was understandable.

At that time, she was in Area 1. Since world communication had been restored, she was certainly under surveillance by the other party.

Being someone who could stay by Xu Xin, the enemy was likely to keep monitoring.

If she communicated with Xu Xin, the conversation would certainly be eavesdropped.

Though she communicated with Xu Xin during the day yesterday, at that time world communication hadn’t been restored, and their conversation was ordinary, concerning Xu Xin’s instructions.

In the eyes of the enemy, she was a spy planted next to Xu Xin, doing things for him to gain his trust, which was a normal occurrence.

So at that time, even if the voice call was eavesdropped, it didn’t matter.

But if she directly told Xu Xin the plan and it was eavesdropped, there would be no excuse.

Even if she rushed back overnight, it would make the other party suspicious.

Thus, she said nothing last night and didn’t tell Xu Xin what she knew, which was understandable.

Seeing Xu Xin’s expression relax, Shi Wanyun knew he understood her reasoning, and she slightly breathed a sigh of relief, saying: ”Last night, I learned that survivors from other regions are responsible for controlling ground-level mid-sized mutant beast hordes, and flying mutant beast hordes.

Their task is straightforward, to attack the World Tree, destroy it, or at the very least, cause significant damage to it.”

Xu Xin nodded.

This was obvious without needing to be said.

But...

”Only responsible for ground mid-sized beast hordes and air beast hordes?”

What about the underground pangolins and the subsequently emerging mutant ancient giant Tyrannosaurus hordes?

Shi Wanyun shook her head: ”Which region is responsible for the underground attack, I still don’t know. But I found out today during the attack who controls the Tyrannosaurus. They are controlled by people from Area 23.”

”Area 23...” Xu Xin murmured.

He still remembered this area.

Aside from Area 188 and Area 1, it’s the strongest area.

It even feels almost as strong as Area 1.

Back when the Transmission Array was connected, Area 23 also sent them an alliance request, but they chose Area 1 as their ally.

Now it seems, the Area 23 that did not become their ally has turned into their adversary seeking to destroy them.

”Keep going,” Xu Xin poured her a glass of water.

”Alright,” Shi Wanyun drank a sip of water and continued, ”The information I received yesterday is that at ten o’clock this morning, they would officially launch an attack on the World Tree.”

Ten o’clock in the morning?

”But today’s beast tide occurred before eight, wasn’t it?” Xu Xin frowned.

The time around eight in the morning was predicted by Ji Chaoyang.

There wasn’t any deviation.

”I also don’t know why,” Shi Wanyun showed a slightly puzzled expression, ”In the world channel, they were indeed discussing ten o’clock in the morning.

So, I thought there was plenty of time. To avoid suspicion, I left normally at seven from there to return here, and as soon as I got back, the beast tide exploded.”

...Why is this?

Time difference?

No, although there is indeed some actual time difference, they use the same time, which has been confirmed in the world channel before.

”I suspect it’s because of me,” Shi Wanyun said softly.

”Because of you?” Xu Xin looked at her, ”Are you saying the other party wanted to attack before you returned?”

”...I don’t know, I just have this thought,” Shi Wanyun looked him in the eyes, ”They don’t seem to trust me much now. If I return to the World Tree, they won’t be able to track my whereabouts.

Due to their vigilance against me sharing information with you, they initiated the attack early. At that time, all regions were long prepared, and the survivors in the world channel were very excited, initiating an early attack wasn’t an issue.”

”...Aren’t you overthinking it,” Xu Xin shook his head, ”Advancing the entire plan for one person? Firstly, you didn’t know much information then, whether you told us or not, actually...”

...No.

They’re explorers, it’s because of Ji Chaoyang’s prophecy and Qin Fu’s reconnaissance ability that they could know the intel.

The other party doesn’t know they made ample preparations.

From their point of view, if Shi Wanyun shared the intel with them, perhaps there would really be some small issues.
