Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1080 - 590: The World Tree Nearing Maturity!

Why did this big guy emerge from the lake and suddenly attack the group of mutated Tyrannosaurus?

Was it to help him?

Or... was it simply unacceptable for those Tyrannosaurus to pass by the lakeside?

Earlier, in the map within his mind, the light spot representing the Lake Giant Python was still marked as a red dot indicating enemy territory.

Although he didn’t know the classification criteria, Xu Xin’s ability told him that the Lake Giant Python was still an enemy unit.

This ability had saved him many times; it was left to him by the previous Xu Xin, and he trusted it relatively.

After all, there was no more reliable method than this to distinguish friend from foe. The only oversight of this ability was concerning Shi Wanyun back then, but Shi Wanyun was a survivor and had not been brainwashed, only threatened.

It’s normal to be unable to detect spies.

Therefore, he still trusted his ability, believing that the Lake Giant Python held hostility towards him.

Even though... it had never harmed him.

To Xu Xin, it seems like it only used roars to intimidate him.

However, it indeed hurt his people.

Ma Hongwei was crushed to death by it directly.

If not for having the resurrection ability, Ma Hongwei would have died right then.

Also, defined as a neutral unit by his ability, the long-absent creek bottom giant crocodile indeed had obvious incompatibility with it and had fought.

So, is it an enemy or a friend? It’s currently undetermined.

At least this time, it emerges from the ground certainly because this group of mutated Tyrannosaurus attracted it out.

So...

...huh?

Wait a second.

What kind of existence are these mutated Tyrannosaurus?

They are pure-blooded mutated creatures.

Though huge in size, they do not possess giant beast lineage; they are pure-blood, blood-stripe mutated prehistoric beasts.

And what kind of existence is Ma Hongwei?

Strictly speaking, he counts as... a pure-blooded mutated creature as well. He doesn’t have giant beast lineage.

So, the Lake Giant Python targeted pure-blood mutated creatures without giant beast lineage both times it attacked.

When it appeared in the lake for Ma Hongwei, it was attracted by Ma Hongwei’s explosive crossbow bolt.

At that time, it poked its head out of the lake and didn’t rush like this time, but slowly crawled towards Ma Hongwei’s tree house.

There were some mutated creatures around it then, but those creatures didn’t attract its attention at all; it crushed a bunch of fleeing mutated creatures merely by crawling through them.

Its target was clear at that time, Ma Hongwei’s tree house.

Back then, Xu Xin thought it was because Ma Hongwei’s explosive bolt was too loud and it wanted to kill him.

But now...

Could the explosive bolt have only been an excuse? Ma Hongwei’s pure-blood, blood-stripe mutation was the main reason?

Seeing it from this perspective explains everything about its lack of interest in other mutated creatures at the time.

Because those mutated creatures weren’t pure-blood, blood-stripe mutated ones but had some giant beast lineage.

It seems... it only goes hard on pure-blood mutated creatures?

”Squeal?” Keke’s call snapped him back to reality, breaking his train of thought.

He looked out the window.

”...Right, Zeng Tao!”

Xu Xin immediately came down from the tree house and ran towards Zeng Tao sitting on the ground.

This girl is too crazy!

Directly confronting a high-speed running Tyrannosaurus, a high-level mutated Tyrannosaurus at that!

She’s practically reckless!

It’s a good thing her ability makes her weight exceed expectations; otherwise, one step from a Tyrannosaurus running could send a little-sized character like her flying hundreds of meters!

Zeng Tao was sitting on the ground, stretching out her two short legs, using her uninjured arm to prop herself up, looking around at the Tyrannosaurus corpses.

She didn’t seem to have suffered any severe injury, just got her arm kicked and broken.

Seeing Xu Xin running over, before he could speak, she proudly said, ”How about it! Am I not amazing! I directly chopped that Tyrannosaurus’s leg off!”

Following Xu Xin, Lou Fei’Er also rushed over.

”You were too reckless!” Lou Fei’Er ran hurriedly to her side, ”Your arm... is already healed?!”

”Did you... take the pill?” Xu Xin breathed a sigh of relief.

”Of course, without that pill, I wouldn’t dare go head-to-head with this Tyrannosaurus.” Zeng Tao stood up, turned the arm she injured, and exclaimed, ”It’s already healed! That’s awesome! Ah!”

Her head was flicked by Xu Xin, immediately covering it and glaring at him, ”Why flick me again?!”

”You’re really reckless.”

Xu Xin made a gesture as if he was about to flick again, causing Zeng Tao to quickly dodge behind Lou Fei’Er, poking her head to shout, ”I’m the hero, and you still flick me! That dumb dragon wouldn’t have been slain without me!”

Though she had escaped Xu Xin’s control, she was still a little afraid of Xu Xin, much like a... child’s fear towards a parent or teacher.

”Everyone was shooting randomly with crossbow bolts; if we hadn’t stopped in time, even if you weren’t kicked to death, you’d be blasted to death.” Xu Xin said irritably, ”Do you know I nearly shot that big killer at you back then?”

”Of course!” Lou Fei’Er also glanced at Zeng Tao behind her and said, ”I almost fired directly at you then too! Luckily, your shout of ’Stand still!’ stopped me on the brink.”
