Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1074 - 588: We Must Protect the World Tree!

The appearance of the pangolins turned the situation around.

What was originally the toughest underground attack suddenly seemed to become their new force.

All the explorers watched the ravine nervously.

More than thirty pangolins had already emerged from the cliffs of the ravine.

They were clearly affected by Crystal City, as each one had its bright, even blinking blood patterns dimmed at the moment of emergence.

Some fell from the cliffs into the ravine; others were halfway out of the holes they dug, standing there dazed.

Their reactions were identical to those of the group of mutated creatures affected at the edge of Crystal City before.

Lou Fei’Er said among the group, ”Did it work? It definitely worked, right?”

She knew what these pangolins’ reactions meant, having been with Xu Xin at the edge of Crystal City at the time.

Xu Xin also showed a relaxed smile, ”It seems they really have become our allies.”

”There’s a problem!” Qin Fu suddenly said among the group, ”There are over ten pangolins that haven’t come out; they’re unaffected. Now they’ve clearly received orders, all the uninfected pangolins are digging down!”

Digging down?

Could it be!

”It looks like they want to dig directly below the ravine, circumvent it from below, to attack the treehouse core!”

That’s what Qin Fu said.

It must be what’s happening!

This group of pangolins is clearly under control; otherwise, they wouldn’t be digging toward here from all directions simultaneously.

The person controlling them learned about the ravine situation from the first thirty pangolins, now using the last over ten pangolins for a final effort!

But... I have to admit, their choice is excellent. It’s the last situation Xu Xin’s group wanted to see!

Wang Lei: ”Brother Xin, your pangolins are probably down there too!”

Indeed, three pangolins are below, but Xu Xin couldn’t confirm their location and couldn’t communicate with them.

He immediately contacted Qin Fu, ”Where is the location of the three pangolins on our side?”

Qin Fu should be able to see.

”I can’t see clearly either.” Qin Fu said awkwardly, ”It’s too dark underground. I can only sense, but don’t know the actual appearance. It’s full of pangolins down here, your three...”

Xu Xin glanced at the pangolins in the ravine, ”One of them is much larger than the group, the other two are a circle smaller. You can sense their size, right?”

Previously, he used ”creatures the size of a tiger or leopard” to describe this group of pangolins.

”Yes, I’ll look for them. They’re... they’re... got them!” After searching for a few seconds, Qin Fu immediately said, ”The largest one is catching the enemy pangolins, and the two smaller ones are helping to dig, their speed... much faster than the other pangolins!”

Seems like they’re already aware of the current situation.

”This... Ah, it seems we don’t need to worry anymore,” Qin Fu’s voice relaxed.

”Why?”

”Our ravine is dug so deep that right below is the roots of the World Tree.” Qin Fu explained, ”Moreover, the closer to the World Tree, the closer and more dense the roots are. Those pangolins want to reach the core location, very difficult.”

Are the World Tree’s roots blocking the pangolins?

Yes.

Even the not fully mature World Tree has very solid hardness near its main body’s roots.

After all, these roots have already spread across the whole 188 area and beyond, the roots below the World Tree are the strongest in the area, not easy to destroy.

”The speed of these pangolins digging holes has slowed down.” Qin Fu continued to explain, ”And your three pangolins have circled behind them, trying to pull them all out. Ha, one is out!”

Before Qin Fu finished speaking, the bottom of the ravine suddenly arched upwards, then two pangolins without blood patterns on them drilled out from inside.

It’s those two little ones!

After popping out, they spread out immediately, and then another large pangolin drilled out from the hole again!

It’s the Pangolin Beauty!

And on her sharp claws, she’s currently holding a pangolin that’s smaller than her, screaming miserably.

Her entire claw has pierced into this pangolin’s belly, blood flowing outward from where the claw penetrated.

No wonder this pangolin screams so miserably...

And after bringing it out from underground, Beauty immediately swung her claw.

Instantly, the entire pangolin was mercilessly thrown, ”bang” crashing onto the rock wall, letting out another miserable scream.

And this pangolin, exposed to the Crystal City image, had its blood patterns dimmed.

It gradually became dazed like the other affected pangolins.

Despite still being seriously wounded.

Subsequently, the three pangolins dug back into the underground from where they emerged.

”Shouldn’t need to worry anymore, the pangolins’ speed in damaging the World Tree’s roots is too slow, your three pangolins should be able to pull them out one by one.”

Looking at the pangolin pierced and thrown onto the rock wall, Xu Xin smiled.

Is Beauty venting her anger this way?

Initially, these pangolins excluded her, forcing her to risk her life to come to him, humbly pleading for Xu Xin to take her two kids away.
