Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1052: Chapter 580: Battle Preparations and Disappearance

To be honest, Xu Xin really wanted to go with her.

That’s District 1, territory he’s never set foot in before.

But remembering Xu Ying’s instructions, to not go out before the world tree has fully grown, and that the creature sent people to kill him...

He’s actually not very worried about something happening. At least he thinks that staying around Crystal City, or within the 188th district under the influence of the world tree, shouldn’t be a problem.

But Shi Wanyun is going to District 1.

District 1 is not protected by the world tree or Crystal City, and situations like Shi Wanyun’s have happened there.

If he goes, it’s basically walking into a trap.

Moreover, although Shi Wanyun can teleport, she must rely on a teleportation device.

In other words, she can only teleport back to her treehouse, or... to that bizarre world tree on the other side of Earth.

If she wants to meet with other powerhouses in District 1, she definitely needs to use the transmission array there, teleporting between transmission arrays in District 1.

And the transmission array there is completely controlled by the other side. If he dares to use it...

Who knows if he would be sabotaged and sent to some unknown place.

Now, when that half-human, half-alien creature covered in eyes clearly wants to kill him, he absolutely cannot run around.

”...I won’t go with you, but you can’t go alone. After all, your situation isn’t very optimistic right now.”

Xu Xin looked at Shi Wanyun who was drawing teleportation array patterns with mutant creature blood on the ground.

”So, you’re afraid I’ll run?” Shi Wanyun paused her hand movement, looking up at him.

”I said, I already trust you.” Xu Xin waved his hand, ”But now, you’re basically a... traitor to them.”

”...You’re right.” Shi Wanyun continued drawing teleportation array patterns, ”But I don’t think the creature would go to such lengths for someone like me.”

”From Number 5’s attitude, you’re not just anyone but an indispensable genius.” Xu Xin shook his head.

Then he swiped open his watch and called Lou Fei’Er, explaining the situation to her.

”Escort Shi Wanyun to District 1? Sure, no problem!” Lou Fei’Er agreed immediately.

”Is Jin Yue with you?”

”Yes, do you want her to come too?”

”Yeah, you two have both injected the gene serum and have bodies with mutant bloodlines, so you two are the most suitable.”

”What about Xiaotaozi? Should she come too?” Lou Fei’Er asked.

”Exactly! I want to go too!” Zeng Tao’s voice came from the other side, clearly showing they were all together, ”I’ll go crazy if I stay here, let me go too!”

”You can’t.” Xu Xin rejected her bluntly, ”You haven’t injected the gene serum yet, and don’t forget, you have an important task.”

She’s supposed to assist Ma Hongwei in creating portable heavy thermal weapons!

Besides, there’s another reason.

He chose Lou Fei’Er and Jin Yue because Yingying confirmed Lou Fei’Er is not part of their team, and Jin Yue is basically impossible to be.

The possibility that the two of them are targeted by alien invaders is the smallest, and their respective districts are also the least dangerous.

But Zeng Tao herself has special abilities, and she might be like Qin Fu, a member of the research team in that timeline.

If she goes, there might be unnecessary trouble.

”Oh...” Zeng Tao let out a somewhat disappointed sound, ”Alright, I got it...”

”So should we head out now?” Lou Fei’Er’s voice held a hint of excitement, probably because she found going to District 1 very thrilling. Her tone was already somewhat impatient.

”This isn’t a vacation.” Xu Xin warned, ”Your operation this time is dangerous, so be careful. You and Jin Yue get ready, and once you’re ready, come...”

He glanced at Shi Wanyun.

Shi Wanyun was still crouched down drawing teleportation array patterns, not lifting her head, she said softly, ”Let them come here, I’ll take them to my treehouse first.”

”Just come to my treehouse, Shi Wanyun will lead you.”

”Okay, once we’re ready, we’ll come!”

After disconnecting, Xu Xin called Ji Chaoyang, and explained the situation to him.

”That’s it. How are things on your end?” Xu Xin asked.

”I’ve already informed all survivors through the district channel that the whole of 188th district is under the protection of the world tree, and they can come and seek refuge with us anytime. Most of them are now tempted and ready to take action.

For District 1, I’ve issued the same invitation on the alliance channel, and informed them of our advantages here. Survivors from District 1 are also starting to get restless.”

Ji Chaoyang’s tone was noticeably more relaxed than before.

”...So it means we’re just short a catalyst.” Xu Xin looked at Shi Wanyun still drawing teleportation array patterns.

”Yes, hopefully Shi Wanyun can succeed.”

When ending the call, Shi Wanyun happened to finish the last stroke of the teleportation array patterns, stood up, and sat on the sofa without further actions.

”Don’t you need to prepare something?” Xu Xin asked her.

”Me? No need.” Shi Wanyun shook her head slightly, ”In my treehouse, I have everything.”
