Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1071 - 587: The Onslaught of Prehistoric Beasts

”What kind of animal is that?!”

”Dinosaurs! Are they dinosaurs?”

”Oh my God, am I really seeing dinosaurs in this world?!”

”Is it real?!”

”There are so many of them, why are there so many!”

”They’re too far away to see clearly!”

To the east of Crystal City, where Xu Xin’s treehouse originally stood, nearly a hundred gigantic dinosaurs are charging toward them.

Due to their enormous size and excessive weight, even from several kilometers away, the survivors in Crystal City can feel the tremors caused by the dinosaur herd’s movement.

”What are those things?” Xu Xin directly asked in the explorer group, ”Are they really dinosaurs?”

Ji Chaoyang apparently has enhanced vision; he might be able to see the situation clearly over there.

Indeed, Ji Chaoyang replied, ”Dinosaurs, with large heads, not very tall, about five to six meters, but their body length is estimated to be at least ten meters, with strong and developed hind limbs for running, and visibly small front limbs.”

This description...

Wang Lei: ”Tyrannosaurus?! It’s a Tyrannosaurus, right?”

”That’s right, from what I observe, it should be a Tyrannosaurus,” Ji Chaoyang continued to respond, ”but I don’t know much about dinosaurs, so I can’t be entirely sure.”

From Ji Chaoyang’s description, it indeed seems to be a Tyrannosaurus.

Dinosaurs.

In this world, he had seen dinosaurs long ago.

The first time was atop the snow-capped mountain where he saw a petrified pterosaur.

Its wingspan exceeded ten meters, a natural colossus.

Later, underground, he saw a whole area of petrified dinosaurs.

Right in the center of the main vine bundle they were urgently transmitted to, there were clusters of petrified dinosaurs.

And those dinosaur statues were no longer limited to pterosaurs but represented all kinds of dinosaurs.

Unexpectedly, this time on the surface, he saw a group of dinosaurs!

”That whole area, is it all Tyrannosaurs?” Xu Xin asked.

”Yes. It’s all Tyrannosaurs, and they all seem to be exactly the same size.”

So it’s really like that!

Zhao Xiaochuan: ”Those alien invaders revived dinosaurs using genetic technology!”

It must be true!

Dinosaurs refer to a group of prehistoric reptiles. They were the dominant species on Earth during the Late Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods, ruling the Earth for a total of one hundred and fifty million years.

Dinosaurs became extinct about sixty-five million years ago, and in the face of such time scales, the thousand-year journey Xu Xin and the other survivors have embarked on is essentially negligible.

Dinosaurs disappeared during the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event sixty-five million years ago. Scientists generally believe that a massive asteroid collision with Earth caused this biological mass extinction, leading to the demise of the Earth’s rulers who dominated for millions of years.

Actually, it’s not completely gone.

To be precise, the raptors they just killed are descendants of dinosaurs.

Today’s birds are the descendants of the dinosaurs that survived back then.

But seeing the real rulers from millions of years ago in this era truly sends shivers down your spine.

The last time he saw dinosaurs was as stone statues, giving him a feeling akin to seeing fossils, which wasn’t as impactful.

This time, however, a real dinosaur herd is charging right at them!

And it’s a group of Tyrannosaurs!

While Tyrannosaurs aren’t the biggest among dinosaurs, they are undeniably the pinnacle of carnivorous dinosaurs!

Whether the Tyrannosaurus is the fiercest and most powerful dinosaur of the prehistoric era is still up for debate, but it can be said that where it existed, it was undoubtedly the apex predator!

Dinosaurs that can be compared to Tyrannosaurs either didn’t live in the same era or weren’t from the same continent.

It can be said that wherever the Tyrannosaurus appears, it is the king!

And now, there are hundreds of Tyrannosaurs charging straight toward Crystal City!

This is a real prehistoric monster!

Hundreds of them!

At this moment, Xu Xin felt a sense of helplessness rising in his heart.

If there were only a few, they might have dealt with them relatively easily.

After all, whether it’s the personal strength of some individuals or their doomsday weapons, they could hold their own in a battle.

If there were a dozen or so, perhaps the fight would be tougher, but Xu Xin believed they could still emerge victorious.

But...

Hundreds?

This is completely outrageous!

”Everyone, these Tyrannosaurs clearly have very bright blood patterns on their bodies!” Ji Chaoyang informed once again, ”They are obviously mutated creatures! At the least, they’re intermediate level, and they might even be...”

...Also mutated creatures!

They might even be advanced mutated creatures!

Against creatures of this mutation level, ordinary explosive bolts might not even inflict skin injuries on them!

It’s just like scratching an itch!

Xu Xin wanted to curse.

How can they be fought?

There’s no way to fight them!

Hundreds of them indeed count as a herd, but such a herd, Wen Guixin can’t...

Wen Guixin: ”They’re too large, my ability might not have much effect! To infect them, it would probably take at least ten minutes, which is far too long!”

Wen Guixin’s ability falls flat when faced with giant beasts, rendering it largely ineffective.

Giant beasts... a herd!

Who would have guessed they would face such a terrifying enemy lineup?
