Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 749: 477 Chapter: New Rewards, Coal Boss! (5400 words)_2

This group of survivors is actually quite large.

Although 30 large zones have been activated now, it’s important to know that only the first ten activated zones receive rewards.

In other words, only the regions with the first ten activated zones can escape tonight’s blizzard.

But... ten large zones don’t necessarily mean there are ten regions.

Because, in the top ten, zones 188, 1, and 23 each took up two!

These three zones took up six spots, leaving the remaining four to be shared among several other regions.

That means out of the nearly one hundred fifty remaining regions, only seven will escape the blizzard burying treehouses tonight!

Naturally, the world channel is filled with people crying and shouting.

Help them?

There are ways to assist.

Snow clothes aren’t limited resources; one piece costs 100 points, which might help them get through the night.

But with the points Xu Xin has now, he can only help a few hundred people even if he uses them all.

And there are a total of fifty to sixty thousand people howling for help.

Forget it; better let them rely on themselves.

His points don’t come from the wind, and instead of helping a few, it’s better to keep them for himself and zone 188.

He’s not a saint who helps everyone he sees.

He can’t even fully help the three thousand in zone 188 right now.

As for other regions, they’ll have to fend for themselves.

Just then, Li Wenxi initiated a video call.

She’s already sitting on her treehouse sofa, showing off her long, fair legs, dressed casually.

It’s such a stark contrast to the people in the world channel.

”Hey, hey, Xu Xin, did you see it? People from other regions are complaining about the cold! Should we help them? If it keeps up, they’ll die en masse tonight, won’t they? Those people might become part of zone 188 in the future.” Li Wenxi casually said, biting an apple.

She was clearly just casually commenting on the matter.

”How do you want to help?” Xu Xin held the sleepy Keke in his arms, stroking its big tail.

”Snow clothes? Probably not necessary.” Li Wenxi took another bite of her apple, the crisp sound making Keke’s ears twitch, and then it raised its little head.

”Eep!”

”Well... there’s really no other way to help them, is there?” Xu Xin handed Keke a blue-grade apple, which it immediately hugged and started munching.

”Mm...” Li Wenxi swallowed her apple and said confidently, ”I think coal could help them!”

”Coal?” Xu Xin was slightly surprised.

”Yeah, think about it, my furnace burns coal and wood differently, right? The heating efficiency should be different, right? Moreover,” Li Wenxi tossed her apple core, leaned towards the camera, and said, ”recently, hasn’t your fireplace been burning coal?”

”Correct.” Xu Xin nodded.

He’s got plenty of coal to use freely.

”That’s it then, my treehouse is still burning wood.” Li Wenxi clapped her hands, ”The temperature in my treehouse is obviously lower than yours! I feel it’s around seventeen to eighteen degrees, while your treehouse is about twenty-four to twenty-five degrees!”

”Such a big temperature difference?” Xu Xin was a bit surprised.

During this period, it’s usually Li Wenxi who comes over; he hasn’t gone to her place, so he naturally didn’t know.

”Yeah, I only found out when I slept by myself last night! That’s when I realized why sleeping in your treehouse is more comfortable.” Li Wenxi lay back on the sofa, ”Besides Little Keke’s influence, there’s also the temperature factor!”

”Isn’t it because you’re sleeping with me?” Xu Xin joked.

”Hehe, there’s also that reason.” Li Wenxi turned over facing out the sofa, ”So, I think if we give them coal, it might help them. Ah, of course, it’s up to you. I’m just making a suggestion; they don’t have anything we want, so if we help, it’s basically charity.”

Coal?

Maybe... it’s feasible?

A piece of green-grade coal burns for half an hour.

If you want to cover the whole night, each person needs at least twenty pieces of coal.

And there are over fifty thousand people howling for help.

...Too many.

Can’t help them all.

But if it’s just to warm them up when they’re about to freeze to death, giving one or two pieces each isn’t too much trouble.

After all, when Xu Xin had his concubine collect for just ten minutes, he ended up with tens of thousands of coal pieces.

Help them?

Actually, if possible, he doesn’t want too many survivors to die.

He somehow feels that every survivor now might become a strength in the future.

With each death, there’s one less source of strength.

Helping a little without hindering himself might be a good idea.

”How much coal did you mine here this afternoon?” Xu Xin asked.

”Not much, just about a hundred and thirty to forty thousand pieces.” Li Wenxi thought for a moment.

...That’s ”not much”?

Hearing that quantity, Xu Xin nearly thought Li Wenxi had mined this coal deposit dry!

But then again, compared to a coal deposit’s reserve, it’s not much indeed.

After all, a coal mine can easily have billions of tons in reserves.

On Earth, his homeland’s largest coal mine has directly over a hundred billion tons in reserves!
