Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 735: Chapter 472 Shi Wanyun’s Request (5200 Words)_3

He contacted Zhao Xiaochuan and explained the situation to him.

”Sure, Brother Xin. I’ll give you one, just send it to her.” Zhao Xiaochuan agreed immediately, ”What kind of trump card is this anyway, just a ragged piece of clothing.”

He didn’t mind.

But indeed.

Compared to his abilities, the Concealer’s Cloak really wasn’t much use to him.

But, this thing has saved the lives of many Explorers; it’s an absolute life-saving artifact!

Giving such a powerful item to a strong person from District 1 whom he’s never met... he himself hesitates a bit.

Whatever, you can’t catch a wolf if you don’t want to part with a child, and it’s worth making a good connection with Shi Wanyun.

He directly sent the Concealer’s Cloak that Zhao Xiaochuan traded him to Shi Wanyun.

There was no response from the other side for a long while.

Xu Xin rubbed Keke’s belly, quietly waiting.

About five or six minutes later, the transaction was finally accepted.

Then, after roughly half a minute, a reply came in from the other side.

”Saved for now, thank you. I never thought you all had such equipment.”

A long string of words.

Looks like she’s temporarily out of danger and can communicate normally now.

Xu Xin showed a slight smile.

His guess was correct.

At this moment, his watch vibrated.

The other party actually sent him a voice call directly.

Xu Xin didn’t hesitate and answered immediately.

”Shh... keep your voice down.”

Before he could speak, the other side started first.

The voice was very low, speaking softly, as if she was afraid to speak.

”You really don’t need to be that cautious.” Due to the atmosphere, Xu Xin also lowered his voice, ”Just don’t make too much noise.”

He has experienced the effects of the Concealer’s Cloak many times before. As long as you keep your body still, talking shouldn’t be a problem.

”Is that so?” The voice on the other side, Shi Wanyun, raised slightly, ”Ah, the monsters didn’t notice me. This cloak is really powerful.”

Even when her voice rose a bit, it still sounded very gentle, like her natural voice.

Many monsters around, can’t risk making a move...

Xu Xin’s heart fluttered slightly.

Could she be... in the underground world now?

Surrounded by underground creatures?

”What situation are you in now?” Xu Xin asked immediately, ”Are you in the underground world?”

As the foremost figure in District 1’s exploration activities, she must be aware of the underground world.

”Underground world?” Shi Wanyun’s voice carried a hint of doubt, then suddenly she understood, ”Oh, you mean the underground world where the Jungle Exploration Activity’s golden treasure is located? Uh... I’m not in that underground world, I’m sure I’m on the surface.”

Hmm...

Indeed.

If she were in the underground world, she should be cut off from the outside, right?

”Xu Xin, I want to make a deal with you.” The voice on the other side sounded slightly serious.

Although... if not for her undeniable identity, her gentle, somewhat tender voice would make Xu Xin’s first impression that she’s just a... weak woman.

”Ying...?” Keke looked up at his watch, curious about the voice’s owner.

”Go ahead,” Xu Xin responded.

”I know how to leave this place now, but I can’t break through it with my ability, so I want to... rent a set of equipment from you. Once I leave, I will definitely return it.”

Her voice remained gentle, but there was a hint of uneasiness in her tone that Xu Xin could detect.

After all, her words essentially equate to getting something for nothing.

Normally, who would lend out equipment just because of a few words?

Besides, judging by her statement, she seems to want at least a set of purple-grade equipment. After all, she already has blue-grade equipment herself.

”Alright,” Xu Xin agreed.

”...I know you don’t trust me, but... huh?” The voice from the other side was slightly taken aback, ”You agreed?”

”However, I need to know precisely about your current situation and how you ended up in it,” Xu Xin continued, ”If you can convince me, I’ll lend you the equipment.”

”That’s simple.” The other party exhaled lightly and spoke directly, ”Xu Xin, can we make a video call?”

”Of course.”

The other party quickly initiated a video call with him.

In the video, a woman clad in blue-grade leather armor and wearing a Concealer’s Cloak leaned against an unknown plant.

The woman, or rather the girl, appeared to be in her early twenties, with a pretty face and downcast eyes that gave off a very approachable vibe.

But her eyes clearly showed signs of fatigue, her hair was somewhat disheveled, with dust on her face and traces of blood at the corner of her mouth.

The ground next to her was strewn with what looked like battered ironclad armor.

These pieces of armor now looked completely twisted and turned into scrap metal.

However, due to the angle, Xu Xin couldn’t see the surrounding scene and just felt that it was quite dark over there.

”Where is this?” he couldn’t help but ask.

So dark, not the underground world?

Shi Wanyun didn’t speak but instead turned her arm to change the video perspective.

As the angle shifted, Xu Xin’s pupils slowly contracted.

He felt his breath catching.

A world he never imagined slowly unfolded before his eyes.

”This... this is...!”

He saw giant trees twisted up towards the sky, with dense canopies blocking out the sun among the clouds!

He saw Blood Patterned Vines coiling on big trees, still slowly creeping!

He saw light flickering on the canopies among the clouds, just like a city’s skyscrapers, brightly lit!

He saw a pterosaur, with wings over ten meters wide, swooping down from the treetop!

He saw countless blood-patterned creatures crawling everywhere!

He saw the sky behind Shi Wanyun.

Amidst swirling clouds, he saw the twinkling stars.

He finally understood why it was so dark over there.

It wasn’t the underground world, but rather nighttime.

Instinctively, he looked out the window of the treehouse.

The outside was still sunny.

His Transmission Array was now connected to another Transmission Array, creating a new purple-black archway.

Niu Fugui should have arrived by now. The timing was just right.

Two in the afternoon, the best time for sunlight.

But Shi Wanyun’s current location...

He looked back at the video.

Shi Wanyun had turned the camera back onto herself again.

”The place I’m currently in is the other side of our planet.”

She spoke, her voice still gentle, but carrying a thread of fear and powerlessness.

”This is the world of Blood Patterned creatures, and I was sent here by them.”

The other side of the... planet?

What the heck?!
