Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 740: Chapter 474: The Unspeakable Ability (5,300 Words)_2

In her understanding, such a powerful pill must be a very precious and rare resource.

Xu Xin had just been able to give her one such pill to heal her injuries, fulfilling his maximum kindness, and she knew she had to pay a price to obtain these three.

”I’ll ask you one question, and if you can tell me the answer, these three pills will be yours.” Xu Xin looked at her and said.

To Xu Xin, these pills were not really scarce resources.

Although these pills could not be mass-produced yet, they were definitely not lacking for those within the Explorers.

Xu Xin currently had a whole bottle in hand, with more than a dozen left, and if he ran out, he could always go to Qi Xuefei for more.

After all, the lives of the Explorers’ members were the most important because each of them carried tens of other people’s lives on their shoulders.

”...What do you want to ask?” Shi Wanyun paused for a moment and said.

She didn’t look at Xu Xin, but rather observed the surroundings, as if avoiding Xu Xin’s gaze.

She seemed to already know what Xu Xin wanted to ask.

”Tell me, what is your... exclusive special ability?” Xu Xin asked directly.

Truthfully, he had wanted to know this question for a long time.

From the previous conversation, he couldn’t guess what kind of ability this woman, ranked first in Area 1 for this event, possessed.

”Exclusive special ability?” Shi Wanyun gently turned to look at Xu Xin with a somewhat puzzled expression, ”...What do you mean?”

She furrowed her brow slightly, her eyes showing a trace of confusion and bewilderment, seeming as if she genuinely didn’t know about any special abilities.

”Do you really have no special ability?”

”...I don’t know what you mean by exclusive special ability.” Shi Wanyun shook her head.

Does she really have no exclusive special ability?

No.

Xu Xin couldn’t help but laugh.

”Your acting skills are far behind Lou Fei’Er.” He rubbed Keke’s little head in his arms.

”Eep?” Keke looked up at him.

”...I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Shi Wanyun’s eyes flashed with a slight annoyance, seemingly displeased with Xu Xin comparing her to others.

”I mean, you’re overacting when lying.” Xu Xin laughed.

”...What are you really trying to say?” Shi Wanyun’s soft tone slightly intensified, ”I’m not lying, nor do I know about any special ability.”

If you only look at her attitude just now, she indeed gives the impression of completely not knowing about special abilities, but...

”Have you forgotten that the fact that some of our Explorers have special abilities is now basically known worldwide?” Xu Xin teased Keke’s little belly as he spoke.

”...”

Among their Explorers, Li Wenxi and Qi Xuefei’s abilities were basically fully exposed to the entire world because their abilities were essentially fully open to their subordinates.

Just like Li Wenxi leading people to mine, her hundredfold explosion rate had long been exposed to everyone.

And the Explorers hadn’t taken any confidentiality measures regarding this.

After all, with so many mouths to feed, they couldn’t control news leaks, so they might as well let it be, which could further improve their Explorers’ capabilities.

Indeed, their approach proved correct as everyone, whether from Area 188 or other areas, had strong confidence in the Explorers.

Basically, if they had the chance to join them, they definitely would.

”This matter, everyone in the world knows about it. You won’t say you don’t know, right?” Xu Xin couldn’t help but laugh, ”You don’t know what special ability is? Or are you trying to hide something.”

Shi Wanyun was silent.

Her eyes flickered with a hint of frustration.

Xu Xin also smiled slightly.

This Shi Wanyun indeed wasn’t very good at interacting with others.

”I can’t tell you my ability right now, I’m sorry.” Shi Wanyun stood up, ”I don’t want your three pills. But thank you, and if I make it back, I’ll repay you.”

Wow, just flipping the table?

”Wait, do you really not want them...?” Xu Xin held up a pill and waved it in front of the camera, ”One pill can save a life, you know.”

”...You don’t need to tempt me. I can’t tell you about this.” Shi Wanyun shifted her gaze away from the projection.

She was indeed very eager for the pill, but...

”It’s not that I don’t want to tell you, it’s that I can’t.” Her voice remained gentle but carried words that made Xu Xin’s eyelid twitch.

Can’t tell?

Why can’t she tell?

The information Xu Xin had encountered that couldn’t be disclosed to others...

Should only be regarding the underground world back then?

”...Is your ability related to the Blood Pattern Race?” Xu Xin tentatively asked.

Shi Wanyun turned to look at Xu Xin, her lips slightly opened but then closed again, turning away from him.

She seemed to already know what it meant to lose by speaking too much, so she simply chose not to talk to Xu Xin anymore.

However, she didn’t hang up the call but instead waited for Xu Xin to do so.

Or perhaps she still had hope for the pill in Xu Xin’s hand.

”Alright, alright, you don’t need to keep glancing over here.” Xu Xin shook his head, directly trading the three pills over, ”I’ve given them to you, hope you don’t disappoint me. When you come back, I’d like to know everything you know about that giant tree.”
