Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 737: Chapter 473: Let’s Heal the Injuries First (5,000 Words)_2

Aside from the tracks made by the skateboard and a few distinct human footprints, there were no other traces.

She tried calling out to the treehouse, but there was no response.

Without the owner’s permission, she couldn’t enter the treehouse to check its condition.

With no other option, she waited a few minutes and decided to return to her own treehouse.

And then, something rather terrifying happened.

The other person who helped her activate the Transmission Array also sent out a distress signal!

This time it was even shorter, just two words: ”Help me!”

This truly made her feel a bit creepy!

She immediately sent a call request to that side, but there was no further response from there.

She immediately prepared to return to her own treehouse.

Neither of these two had watches, so if they wanted to contact her, they’d have to do it via a screen from inside the treehouse.

This meant that both sent their distress signals from within the treehouse, so both incidents occurred in the treehouse!

Could it be that something’s wrong with her treehouse too!

With this concern in mind, she hurried towards her treehouse and soon returned to it.

Just as she was about to grab the roots of the treehouse and enter, something happened!

At this time, the snow layer in Zone 1 had dwindled to just a thin layer. All of a sudden, a blood-red glow appeared beneath the snow layer, spreading over a large area below her treehouse!

And vaguely, she could see these blood-red glows forming some special patterns!

In her shock, she didn’t even react. Before she was lifted by the treehouse roots, she saw a burst of purple-black, and then she felt the world spinning around her!

When she opened her eyes again, she found herself in an unfamiliar, pitch-dark cave.

”Were you teleported away?” Xu Xin’s eye twitched slightly.

”Yes, it was teleportation. The feeling was similar to the Transmission Array’s teleportation, but the side effects were severe. After being teleported here, I felt extremely dizzy and nauseous, even unable to stand,” Shi Wanyun explained.

...Isn’t this akin to a coordinate?

From this perspective, the Transmission Array probably provides a very stable teleportation, since the start point and endpoint are fixed, so it doesn’t cause discomfort to those teleported.

But for unstable teleportations, such as his coordinates, the monster beneath the snow layer during the beast tide, and the experience in the Hilly Resource Zone, they all suggest that these kinds of random, temporary teleportations have significant side effects.

The teleportation Shi Wanyun experienced was clearly a temporary setup of an entrance beneath her treehouse, leading to this situation.

This means... someone set up a teleportation entrance around the treehouse?

Xu Xin thought of those raiders, those... furry monsters.

”...Don’t you have parasitic treehouses?” Xu Xin asked, ”No one to watch over the treehouse? You haven’t switched the crossbow to automatic attack mode?”

”...Nobody’s parasitic here. I’ve always been alone.” Shi Wanyun shook her head, ”Those two who helped activate the array wanted to seek refuge with me, but I refused. As for the crossbow, since winter came, I’ve kept it on automatic attack mode.”

No one parasitic...

So that’s how it is.

When she left the treehouse, it was in a state of no surveillance.

At such a time, if someone truly came near her treehouse to set up an entrance, it would indeed be easier.

As for the crossbow’s automatic mode...

Automatic mode attacks enemy units, but it only attacks enemy units.

Xu Xin suddenly remembered that he seemed to have seen... furry monsters not shown on the map.

This means those furry monsters were categorized as neutral units like Keke.

If the trap were set by those furry monsters...

Xu Xin pondered, and Shi Wanyun wisely remained silent, waiting for him to think.

”Continue,” Xu Xin said.

”Okay,” Shi Wanyun nodded, ”About twenty minutes later, I recovered from the dizziness and weakness, then walked out of the cave, and saw... a world like this.”

She glanced around and sighed, ”And at that moment, a triggered activity notification rang in my ear. My objective sounded simple: reach a location and activate a teleportation device that could send me back to the Transmission Array I activated.”

She turned to look at the towering giant tree: ”That tree is my destination. The teleportation device is at the roots, but... right now, it’s simply impossible for me.”

She gestured at the high-grade mutated creatures roaming around, her eyes full of helplessness.

Xu Xin could even sense the faint despair buried deep in her eyes.

Maybe, even now, she doesn’t believe she can complete this task.

”...Aren’t you almost there?” Xu Xin looked at the giant tree on the screen.

The tree was so huge that it seemed close, but in reality, there was still some distance to its roots.

Approximately... less than two kilometers?
