Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 727: Chapter 470: End This Winter As Soon As Possible! (5,800-Word Chapter!)_2

Most people are going to be taken away directly!

”Perhaps that’s part of the reason why I didn’t pay much attention before,” Ji Chaoyang said.

”But, I just received news that in Area 1 and its neighboring areas, many dying or withering treehouses have been discovered, with the owners already dead, but the treehouses remained uncut. Doesn’t it seem somewhat similar to what happened in Area 187?”

”Moreover, it’s not just Area 1 experiencing this issue. Most regions that have activated the Transmission Array are facing similar situations. Because in the icy snow, withering treehouses are easily noticed by people around as anomalies. That’s why I suspect this situation is not as simple as it appears.”

Indeed, it seems rather bizarre.

It must be known, there are currently no activities, and in the icy snow, not many mutated creatures would actively attack survivors.

It must be known that those who have survived until now are already familiar with the rules of this world. The possibility that they would do something reckless is very small, let alone so many people doing something reckless together.

So it’s indeed very strange that people are suddenly dying en masse when there are no activities underway.

”Are you saying that all regions that have activated the Transmission Array are experiencing this, while those that haven’t activated the Transmission Array are not?” Xu Xin asked.

”That’s right.” Ji Chaoyang replied, ”Even we are the same.”

Even us?!

Xu Xin immediately clicked on the district channel to check the population of Area 188.

”...Indeed, there are indeed a dozen fewer people.” Xu Xin’s face turned slightly pale.

”Xu Xin, I suspect this situation might be related to us dragging out the winter for too long.” Ji Chaoyang speculated.

”What do you mean?” Xu Xin’s heart skipped a beat.

Could it be...

”For regions that haven’t activated the Transmission Array, their punishment is being buried by increasingly violent snow each day, losing the ability to acquire resources, and eventually freezing to death in their treehouses,” Ji Chaoyang explained.

”From what I’ve heard, the snow in other regions was heavier than before last night, and the accumulated snow was taller. Moreover, their treehouses seem to be affected; according to survivors whose treehouses are half-buried, the heat retention capability of their treehouse fireplaces has decreased significantly, and now the temperature in their treehouses is only around ten degrees Celsius.”

Who would have thought that the snow would affect the internal temperature of the treehouse as well?

”...And for us, in areas where the blizzards have practically ended, there is another punishment,” Xu Xin spoke, ”which is exactly what you mentioned. Is that what you mean?”

”That’s right.” Ji Chaoyang immediately confirmed, ”We, who are no longer affected by blizzards, are not as safe as we imagined, which we’ve experienced before as well.”

Indeed.

The fluffy monsters, the wolf packs, the strange teleportation arrays...

And Keke’s constant vigilance and strange behavior.

They all indicated that they are not at peace.

”The mysterious voice said to end this winter as soon as possible, otherwise terrifying things would happen,” Xu Xin recalled the mysterious voice’s words, his eyelid twitching slightly, ”It seems this message was meant for everyone.”

The two remained silent for a brief moment.

Ji Chaoyang spoke up: ”So, there are two urgent matters now.”

”The first is to immediately contact Area 1 and connect with Shi Wanyun. She must know something, which is why she was so desperate to reach out to us for help yesterday.”

But unfortunately, they were trapped in the underground world at that time.

Xu Xin once again swiped his watch to check the world trading platform, noting that there had been no updates from Shi Wanyun for a while.

...Could it be that something has happened to her as well?

Isn’t this danger too overwhelming even for the top experts of Area 1?

Xu Xin’s heart was slightly unsettled.

”The second point is...”

”Don’t delay any further and end this winter quickly,” Xu Xin added, ”Also, instruct everyone else not to leave their homes. Staying inside the treehouses should be the safest option.”

Even in Area 188, the number had decreased by a dozen.

”That’s right. I’ve already warned everyone in our area not to go out until the end of winter and to stay vigilant in their treehouses.”

”Indeed, that’s definitely the safest.”

The survivors in Area 188 were equipped with ballistas in their treehouses and even had some explosive bolts. Perhaps for this reason, their situation was relatively stable, having only lost a dozen people, which hadn’t even drawn much attention.

After all, in this world, losing only a dozen people a day is actually a good situation...

”You go contact Wang Lei and the others, and I’ll ask Qin Fu about the situation in Area 187 at that time,” Xu Xin said.

”Okay.”

Hanging up the call with Ji Chaoyang, Xu Xin directly dialed Qin Fu.

However, Qin Fu did not answer, instead, he directly hung up.

”...What’s going on?” Xu Xin was slightly taken aback.

Then, a map appeared in his mind.

Qin Fu’s location was still in the Hilly Resource Zone, but it was slightly different from before, with a deviation of a few hundred meters.

What is he up to?

Could it be that he has indeed discovered something, something that prevents him from speaking now?
