Berserk God of War

Chapter 392: Chapter 392: Put in Solitary Confinement

Xu He knew that Sikong Jing had been taken in by Tan Yue of Drunk Dragon Mountain, and that he also possessed a private token from Qin Heng.

But things were different now; the battle between the two major academies had far-reaching implications.

Especially if Qin Heng were to unfortunately die, Lei Zizhen and Lei Hongteng would definitely kill Sikong Jing.

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jing took a deep breath and said, ”You all find a place to hide for now; I will assess the situation and see.”

After all, Xu He was just a mere apprentice with limited knowledge; he needed to find Yu Yan first to understand the situation at the Holy Dragon Palace.

Especially... how severe Qin Heng’s injuries were.

With that, Sikong Jing took Lang Yisuo and said farewell to the members of the Da He Association, heading directly to the Task Hall...

But unfortunately, he couldn’t find Yu Yan in the Task Hall either.

There, a student on duty heard of Sikong Jing’s search and sneered, ”Yu Yan? That mysteriously appointed deacon of the Task Hall will probably not come again. Her position as deacon will soon be revoked.”

Upon hearing this, a cold light flashed in Sikong Jing’s eyes, and he inquired, ”Why?”

”A new emperor brings his own courtiers.”

”Whether it’s Master Wen Hu or Yu Yan, they were both mysteriously appointed by Vice Palace Master Qin as deacons. Now that the Master of Thunder Dragon Mountain might become the Vice Palace Master, they naturally have to scram.”

The student on duty explained with a sneer and then ignored Sikong Jing.

Sikong Jing clenched his fists tightly and asked again, ”Where is Senior Sister Yu now?”

”You’re so annoying, aren’t you? Yu Yan is a student of Fire Dragon Mountain, so of course she’s at Fire Dragon Mountain!” The attitude of the student on duty was extremely rude—who cared if Sikong Jing was just a small apprentice?

Without further words, Sikong Jing took Lang Yisuo and turned to leave the Task Hall.

”Junior Brother Sikong, it looks like Lei Hongteng really might become the Vice Palace Master. What should we do?”

Lang Yisuo felt that it was becoming unbearable to stay at the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace.

A faint cold light flashed in Sikong Jing’s eyes as he slowly said, ”We’ll challenge the fourth mountain path, Fire Dragon Mountain Road.”

Upon hearing this, Lang Yisuo was instantly stunned.

Shouldn’t they be heading to Golden Dragon Mountain now to check on Vice Palace Master Qin Heng’s condition? Why go to Fire Dragon Mountain?

Even if they found Yu Yan, what use would it be?

”Vice Palace Master Qin’s injuries are probably not good.”

”If we go to Golden Dragon Mountain now, we might be ambushed by students of Golden Dragon Mountain and even have to confront some elders and masters who have already sided with Lei Hongteng. In that case, we would likely be finished.”

”We need to head to Fire Dragon Mountain first to find Senior Sister Yu; we must get a clear understanding of the upper echelon situation in the Holy Dragon Palace.”

During his time in the Great Shang Dynasty, Sikong Jing had witnessed many battles among the ministers.

Now, the severely injured Qin Heng was likely under the surveillance of Lei Hongteng, while he himself was a target for Lei Zizhen. If he went to Golden Dragon Mountain, he might be eliminated by Thunder Dragon Mountain before he ever saw Qin Heng.

Of course, Sikong Jing couldn’t foolishly go to seek out Qin Heng...

Finding Yu Yan and understanding who the elders opposing Lei Hongteng were could allow him to meet Qin Heng under their protection. Only after meeting Qin Heng could he come up with a next step to deal with Lei Hongteng.

After explaining, Sikong Jing took Lang Yisuo straight to Fire Dragon Mountain Road.

Without idle talk, the two tread on the path and faced a tremendous oppressive force bearing down on them, but with Sikong Jing’s current power, he naturally did not care; fully consolidated in the Xuantian Third Realm, Lang Yisuo also found it easier than before.

Along the way, although they also encountered students from the Volcano Dragon, they had no contact.

When they finally walked the path and stepped onto Fire Dragon Mountain...

Sikong Jing had mastered the fourth Dragon Fist, forging the fourth Dragon Vein within his body, and at the same time, he seized the opportunity to expel all the True Qi that he had previously absorbed from a middle-aged woman of Wangyou Sect.

Now, he could finally officially challenge the Xuantian Realm.

As for Yisuo’s condition, it was much better than the previous three times. He merely entered the state of cultivation somewhat weakly, his True Qi rising within him, reaching the peak of the Xuantian Third Realm.

And of course, they still hadn’t discovered that in the direction of the Demon Dragon Valley, the Seven Transformation Divine Dragon had once again opened its eyes.

Upon realizing that it was Sikong Jing and another person who had successfully challenged the mountain road again, it closed its eyes once more, ignoring them.

”Golden Dragon Mountain students, what business do you have on Fire Dragon Mountain?”

Just as the two were experiencing the transformations of the True Qi within their bodies, a haughty voice rang out.

Approaching were a man and a woman dressed in Volcano Dragon attire, the speaking woman staring coldly at them.

Since Yisuo was dressed as a Golden Dragon Mountain student, she naturally assumed Sikong Jing was also a student from Golden Dragon Mountain.

Sikong Jing opened his eyes and stepped forward, saying, ”We are here to find Senior Sister Yu Yan.”

Upon hearing this, the man and woman exchanged glances.

In the next instant, the speaking woman sneered and said, ”I wondered how you had a Fire Dragon Token to ascend the mountain path. It turns out it was given to you by Yu Yan, that backdoor sneak.”

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jing’s eyes widened further, and he could not help but furrow his brows.

The mountain paths of Qilong Mountain require corresponding tokens; otherwise, it turns into a terrifying mountain path challenge. And naturally, the man and woman wouldn’t think that Sikong Jing and his companion had succeeded in challenging the mountain path.

They thought that Yu Yan had given them a Fire Dragon Token.

And the woman opposite was saying that Yu Yan had gained her position through the back door, with such a horrible attitude.

Suddenly, the woman coldly said, ”Leave now. Yu Yan has already been confined; you won’t be able to meet her.”

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jing glanced back at the man and woman and slowly asked, ”What has Senior Sister Yu done wrong that she should be confined?”

His heart was filled with chill; had Fire Dragon Mountain also sided with Lei Hongteng?

Yu Yan, promoted by Qin Heng to be a Task Hall deacon, was considered part of Qin Heng’s direct lineage, and she was imprisoned?

Was the purpose to prevent Yu Yan from meeting Qin Heng, to keep Qin Heng in the dark about Lei Hongteng’s conspiracy?

Upon Sikong Jing’s question, the man opposite stepped forward and replied, ”You’re from Golden Dragon Mountain and don’t know? It’s because Yu Yan took shortcuts and became an Inner Palace student, and also became one of the three Great Deacons of the Task Hall.”

”Now that the elders of the Academy have returned, it’s naturally time to settle things.”

Excuses, all excuses...

Sikong Jing’s eyes flashed with cold light as he replied sharply, ”Perhaps it’s not about the elders wanting to settle things, but rather that Lei Zizhen wants to settle scores, right?”

It was still the same as last time at the Task Hall. Yu Yan had stood up for him and was remembered with resentment by Lei Zizhen.

Moreover, with Lei Hongteng aiming to become the Vice Palace Master, Yu Yan was naturally in terrible trouble.

The female student from Fire Dragon Mountain sneered upon hearing this, ”Since you already know, why ask so much? Leave now.”

Her words confirmed that Lei Zizhen was indeed aggressively seeking revenge.

With widened eyes, Sikong Jing slowly opened his mouth, ”Now we wish to meet someone else; we want to see... the Fire Dragon Mountain Master.”

At this, the man and woman widened their eyes.

The male student scoffed, ”Who are you to see our Institute Master just because you say so?”

”Without first reporting, how do you know your Institute Master won’t see us?” Sikong Jing calmly replied.

He was testing, trying to find out whether the Fire Dragon Mountain Master was indeed a supporter of Lei Hongteng.

If he was, then he must leave immediately, not staying a moment longer.
