Berserk God of War

Chapter 377: Chapter 377: He’s Too Old to Command Respect

All of a sudden, Xia Dalian felt a chill in her heart and fearfully looked around.

However, Sikong Jing just shrugged and said, ”You’re too impulsive. If you make too much noise, you’ll be discovered by the 66th Army. It’s better for you to calm down. What I need is for you to help me put on a play...”

After speaking, Sikong Jing disappeared on the spot, like a dark shadow slipping into the woods.

In the blink of an eye, there were muffled groans coming from the woods.

General Fei, the three Deputy Generals, and Xia Dalian all saw figures rushing out and continuously falling to the ground.

Sikong Jing moved as if he were in a place with no one else, knocking people out as easily as cutting grass.

Then Sikong Jing’s voice came from the woods again, ”Don’t make too loud of a noise, or else your plan will fall through.”

In the woods, each of the New 99th Legion’s Black-armored Soldiers was dumbfounded, instinctively covering their mouths.

If they made too much noise, they would be discovered by the 66th Army, and naturally, the plan would fail.

Moreover, they were already so shocked they couldn’t speak.

They only saw a figure swiftly passing by, and then one after another fell down.

After an unknown amount of time, Sikong Jing reappeared in the middle of the road on the Black Steed, looking imposing.

He looked toward General Fei and said nonchalantly, ”Don’t worry, I’ve only knocked out a thousand men for now. You still have twenty-nine thousand men to use... Now, would you like to play along with my act or not?”

”If you don’t agree, then all of your thirty thousand men will only be able to fall.”

Sikong Jing’s voice was incredibly calm, but it set off a storm in the hearts of General Fei and the others. In just this short span of time, he had knocked out a thousand Black-armored Soldiers—was this some kind of joke?

General Fei stared dead at Sikong Jing, growling, ”I... I don’t believe it...”

Shrugging his shoulders, Sikong Jing suddenly dashed forward again.

Bang bang...

He kicked out with two feet, knocking out the two Deputy Generals, and then he grabbed General Fei and flashed into the woods.

He pointed at the Black-armored Soldiers lying unconscious on the ground and asked General Fei with lowered head, ”Do you believe it now, General Fei?”

Thump...

General Fei directly fell to the ground, completely dumbfounded, truly collapsed.

Sikong Jing looked at General Fei shivering on the ground, his face wearing a smile that wasn’t quite a smile.

”In any case, there’s no way you can take down the 66th Army now.”

”Your plan is sure to fail. It’s better to cooperate with me. Afterward, you can at least continue to sit securely in the position of the 99th General.”

”Otherwise, if the Commander and Vice Commander find out that your legion was taken down by one person, I’m afraid you won’t be able to be the 99th General anymore.”

After speaking, Sikong Jing casually turned around and then added indifferently, ”It’s up to you.”

”If you agree, when it’s time to attack the 66th Army, just give me a look.”

”If you don’t agree, then you can only shamefully retreat from the battle beneath the city walls, farewell.”

Upon returning to the Black Steed, Sikong Jing gave Xia Dalian a look and then headed towards the direction of the 66th Castle.

In the woods, the one Deputy General who had not fainted came up beside General Fei, trembling all over and asked, ”Who is that kid, and how did he achieve entering our ranks as if no one was there with the power of someone at the peak of the Martial Sect Realm?”

The corners of General Fei’s mouth twitched viciously as he murmured, ”I remember now, he is the person who took down five cities.”

”Rumors say that it wasn’t Ning Jingjing who took down the five cities.”

”It was a young man who was given a hard time by Yan Shun and kicked out of the Changye Black Burning Army. I was defeated by him back then.”

Not many people in the Long Night Black Burning Army knew about Sikong Jing.

Because in the promotion orders at the time, the name Sikong Jing was not mentioned; it was all Ning Jingjing.

But at that time, there were still some rumors that got out.

Rumors said that Ning Jingjing did not participate in the assault on Lan Zhuanghe, and further rumors claimed that Lan Zhuanghe was taken down by someone outside of the Long Night Black Burning Army, specifically by the family of a Black-armored Soldier under Ning Jingjing.

Of course, many did not believe these rumors, and General Fei was originally one of them.

But now, he was thoroughly convinced.

”General Fei, what should we do next?” asked the Deputy General with a trembling voice, at a loss.

General Fei opened his mouth, struggling to make a decision.

On one side was Adviser Zhang Zhun, a man of not insignificant rank, and on the other was a terrifyingly strong youth at the Peak of Martial Sect Realm; both sides were difficult to handle.

”How about we just don’t do it and retreat instead?” the Deputy General suggested.

Twitching the corner of his mouth, General Fei then muttered, ”I’m worried we won’t be able to return to the 99th Castle. Zhang Zhun is already certain to lose, and when that time comes, Ning Jingjing will probably use us to consolidate her position.”

After hesitating for a while, General Fei firmly said, ”Damn it, we’ll do as the kid said.”

”Since Zhang Zhun is bound to lose, we should obviously stand with the victor, and who knows, we might be promoted back soon.”

Having said that, General Fei immediately sent out orders to put on a show once they reached the 66th Castle.

...

At the 66th Castle, Sikong Jing and Xia Dalian arrived.

The Black-armored Soldier at the city gate brightened upon seeing them and came forward, saying, ”Brother Sikong, are you here to observe the ceremony? Please come in.”

Clearly, the guard was one of the eighty thousand Black-armored Soldiers from the former 99th and 96th Army.

In their hearts, Sikong Jing was like a Divine General.

Without even needing to notify Ning Jingjing, the city gates were opened to let him in.

Before long, Sikong Jing and his companion arrived at the central square of the castle, where Black-armored Soldiers stood all around.

In the center of the square, there was a Martial Arts Discussion Platform.

At the moment, standing on the platform were hundreds of Black-armored Soldiers, some with helmets on and others without... each one excited beyond measure, while Ning Jingjing too stood on the platform.

She stood at the very front of these hundreds of Black-armored Soldiers, imposing and spirited.

And among these hundreds of soldiers were Su Zhenglong and Su Yue Immortal.

Clearly, all these people had just distinguished themselves from the Reserve Camp and were about to become true Black-armored Soldiers.

At that moment, Xia Dalian pointed subtly, indicating a refined middle-aged man not far from Ning Jingjing, ”That one, is Zhang Zhun.”

Sikong Jing casually acknowledged, his gaze shifting until it finally settled on a corner of the platform.

Su Yuexi and her mother-in-law Mei Xiaofang were standing there, their faces filled with excitement as they watched Su Zhenglong on the platform.

Suddenly, Ning Jingjing called out, ”The next newly inducted Black-armored Soldier, Su Zhenglong, please step forward.”

Su Zhenglong stepped forward with large strides, looking excitedly towards Ning Jingjing.

She approached and took a token and a helmet from the hands of a female soldier.

Then, with heavy footsteps, she walked up to Su Zhenglong and stood firm, saying, ”Su Zhenglong, from today on, you’re a Black-armored Soldier of the 66th Army. Here is your token and...”

”Wait!”

Ning Jingjing’s voice had not yet fallen when she was suddenly interrupted. The excited Su Yuexi and her family froze their gazes.

The refined middle-aged man stepped forward, none other than Adviser Zhang Zhun.

”Adviser Zhang, whatever it is, please wait until after the ceremony is completed to speak,” Ning Jingjing said emotionlessly.

However, Zhang Zhun slightly curled his lips, speaking with a gentle demeanor, ”General Ning, I’m afraid this needs to be addressed now... Su Zhenglong is far too old, I just heard many voices of dissent.”

With that, he pointed at Su Zhenglong, his eyes brimming with cunning.

Suddenly, the faces of both the Su Yue and Sui Yu families changed drastically, as someone was once again using Su Zhenglong’s age to cause trouble.
