Berserk God of War

Chapter 389: Chapter 389: The Battle Ends, Qin Heng Severely Injured

At last, Beigong Xianfeng issued another order, and all the Deputy Generals among the 120,000 troops were taken away for interrogation.

If it was only about opposing Ning Jingjing as the leader of the 66th Army, that would be fine, but if anyone had also received benefits from the Ning Family, they would share the same crimes as Zhang Zhun.

Just like that, a disturbance ended swiftly because of Beigong Xianfeng’s decisive actions.

Thereafter, Beigong Xianfeng declared, ”The sword skill imparted by Brother Sikong is based on the Long Night Black Burning Sword, modified to reach a High Grade middle rank, with the most important aspect being that its cultivation difficulty is comparable to that of the Long Night Black Burning Sword.”

”From today onwards, the entire Long Night Black Burning Army will implement the Dark Wing Black Burning Sword.”

Upon hearing this, Zhang Han finally understood completely.

His face turned utterly dark as he muttered to himself about his inadequate Martial Arts, otherwise, he wouldn’t have made such a grave mistake. The achievement that Sikong Jing had reached in being able to implement this sword skill across the Long Night Black Burning Army was tremendous.

Even if the Long Night Emperor were here, he couldn’t save Zhang Zhun’s life.

Just as Beigong Xianfeng was about to leave, Fei Chian suddenly shouted, ”Beigong Commander, I voluntarily relinquish my post as General of the 99th Army, wishing to serve under General Ning as Deputy General...”

After looking deeply at Fei Chian, Beigong Xianfeng said, ”Granted.”

Fei Chian was visibly excited, for he knew there were three tiers to the Dark Wing Black Burning Sword, and currently, only the first tier was made public.

There definitely were further arrangements to be made by the Commander, and he couldn’t afford to miss them.

Indeed, when he returned to 66th Castle with Sikong Jing and Ning Jingjing, he heard Sikong Jing mention forming the Dark Wing Camp, which would also take the existing 80,000 troops of the 66th Army as its foundation...

Next, Beigong Xianfeng would select an additional 120,000 new troops to join the 66th Army.

On the surface, it’s still the 66th, but it’s actually Dark Wings.

After listening to all these arrangements, Ning Jingjing, sitting in the main seat, looked at Sikong Jing oddly and said, ”I say, Commander Sikong, should I give up this position to you now?”

Although she said this, there was no significant emotion on Ning Jingjing’s face.

Sikong Jing laughed awkwardly, ”I, as the Commander, probably won’t be here for long, everything should still be led by General Ning.”

”I have other business and must return to 66th Town now.”

After saying this, Sikong Jing quickly left, inadvertently becoming Ning Jingjing’s superior.

As things progressed, he ended up being placed above Ning Jingjing, which was quite embarrassing.

Watching Sikong Jing leave, Ning Jingjing’s eyes flashed with complex emotions, and she ultimately smiled, a mix of bitterness, happiness, and a hint of helplessness.

Sikong Jing was simply too formidable; beside him, she felt like a little woman.

Suddenly, Elder Wei murmured in his aged voice, ”What a pity that Brother Sikong is already married.”

Though spoken softly, it was still heard by the Deputy Generals in the quiet hall.

Ning Jingjing’s face darkened immediately, and she glared at Elder Wei, ”Don’t spout nonsense, I’m not interested.”

She clearly understood the implications of Elder Wei’s words, but she had never considered this issue, nor would she ever think of snatching someone else’s love.

Still, there was a strange feeling of discomfort in her heart.

Elder Wei then lowered his head with a bitter smile, feeling that the young mistress was really too tired. She had nearly met her end twice in confrontations with the Ning Family, and both times, Sikong Jing had come to her aid.

If she had a man like Sikong Jing to rely on, who from the Ning Family would dare to bully the young mistress again?

”The matter of the Dark Wing Camp must be kept secret; whoever speaks of it will die.”

”Commander Sikong has entrusted me with the full authority to oversee the formation of the camp, so let’s start discussing the execution now.”

Ning Jingjing set aside her thoughts and, looking at the array of Deputy Generals and the new Deputy General Fei Chian, began to seriously discuss the matters at hand.

...

Meanwhile, Sikong Jing took Su Yuexi back to 66th Town, indeed having business to attend to because Yisuo Lang had arrived.

”Junior Brother Sikong, you’ve finally come back, and to think you’ve returned alive... uuuhhh,” he sobbed.

The moment Senior Brother Lang saw Sikong Jing, he was stunned for a good while.

Eventually, he broke down crying.

This completely baffled Sikong Jing, who quickly said, ”Senior Brother Lang, you should be happy that I’m back, why act like this?”

Through Su Yuexi, Sikong Jing knew that all this time, Senior Brother Lang had been searching for him, investigating the pursuit of the two chief assassins from Xingluo Palace against him.

And naturally, Su Yuexi dared not tell Senior Brother Lang about Sikong Jing being turned into a demon beast.

So, Senior Brother Lang thought Sikong Jing had long since died, killed in the pursuit by Xingluo Palace and the Minglong Mountain Range.

”I thought my Junior Brother had died, and I felt I had let down my younger sister. I, being the second son of Wanbao Pavilion, failed to protect you.”

Senior Brother Lang was a genuinely nice person, prone to feelings of guilt.

If he had a bit more authority in Wanbao Pavilion, none of this, Sikong Jing being pursued, would have happened.

”Also, I’ve been at the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace, hardly able to bear it anymore.”

”The people from Golden Dragon Mountain cursed and excluded me, Thunder Dragon Mountain blames me for Lei Zizhen losing an arm to Xingluo Palace, ruining his martial arts. If I had not been the second son of Wanbao Pavilion, I probably would have been killed.”

As Senior Brother Lang spoke, a cold light flashed in Sikong Jing’s eyes.

He could understand why the people of Golden Dragon Mountain cursed him, especially since Senior Brother Lang wasn’t as good as he used to be.

But what about Lei Zizhen? What happened there?

Only then did Senior Brother Lang explain that after Sikong Jing had left, Lei Zizhen had been ambushed by Sha Bingyan, the third chief of Xingluo Palace, at the gates of Wanbao Pavilion. He had lost an arm, an incident that enraged the entire Thunder Dragon Mountain.

But they were helpless against Xingluo Palace, and with Sikong Jing being hunted and having fled, they could only vent their anger on Senior Brother Lang.

This made his time there miserable.

”Plus, a few days ago, the elders and the Institute Master of the Holy Dragon Palace finally came back.”

”I thought the situation would change, but upon returning, the Institute Master of Thunder Dragon Mountain, Lei Hongteng, intensified his stance, vowing revenge.”

”It just got worse for me, so I had to flee first.”

At these words, a fierce light rekindled in Sikong Jing’s eyes. Was there a result to the major battle between the two major academies?

Eager about this issue, he promptly asked.

”It wasn’t much of a result, as the headquarters of the two major academies had to step in to suppress the battle.”

”Then came the negotiations, and both sides had a long back-and-forth before finally wrapping it up.”

”The outcome of the negotiations hasn’t been made public yet, but it’s said that a major event is likely to happen.”

”Moreover, Palace Master Shen is said to have not come back yet, and the reason is unknown.”

Senior Brother Lang explained with little enthusiasm about the great battle between Xingluo Palace and the Holy Dragon Palace, as it had little to do with him.

After listening, Sikong Jing asked further, ”What about Vice Palace Master Qin Heng, has he returned?”

”He’s back, but I heard he was seriously injured. I didn’t ask for details,” Senior Brother Lang replied softly.

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jing’s eyes sparkled, and after a moment of silence, he said, ”I’ll accompany you back to the Holy Dragon Palace now.”

In regards to the great battle or negotiation between the two major academies, he was equally indifferent.

What concerned him more now was whether, after a month and a half, Baili Que had managed to obtain the Thousand Cold Red Lotus Core.

This was too important for Su Yuexi.

If not, he still had new beast skills he could trade for points, and should be able to gather ten million points.
