Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1397: Chapter 1187: Edna Holding the Immortal’s Visit Flower

”What does he want to do?” Celene also shouted, ”Why rush out to confront Dandell?

Unexpectedly helping Heim and Amanata?

Something’s off... That big dinosaur isn’t he supposed to hate protection and order the most?”

Lansendel blinked: ”Wow~ Dandell, truly one of the strongest among the Wild Gods!

With just a swipe of his tail, he sent Utao flying, he really hates this dinosaur.”

”Nonsense.” Shaer responded coldly, ”If it weren’t for Utao betraying the Wild God back then, Dandell wouldn’t have been sealed for so many years.

Although that snake has simple thoughts, it still knows how to hate.

What exactly does that dinosaur want to do?”

”Hmm?” Lansendel suddenly jumped, ”What’s he doing...Oh~

Truly a two-faced opportunist!

He’s seriously injured and directly fell asleep?

He even withdrew the Soul Power from Chult to prevent his injuries from worsening?

He doesn’t want to offend the Abyss and Hell, so he wants to steer clear of any potential conflicts with them?

Anyway, the Hydra by the coast is eyeing fiercely, and the serpent people in the jungle clearly have some thoughts... Speaking of which, Shaer, when did you get involved with the serpent tribe?

Clearly, Aishdo is someone everyone in Chult wants to attack, isn’t he?”

Shaer glared at him and replied nonchalantly: ”As long as I let them confirm Aishdo is no longer Aishdo, the shadow-loving serpent people will naturally gravitate towards me.

What they truly hate isn’t Aishdo... but the dinosaur that uses pythons as food. They’re just venting against Aishdo because of Utao’s pervasive influence in Chult.

Heh~ The serpent people are not stupid, how could they not know that Aishdo is Utao’s sin? They have ways to indirectly curse the real target.”

Lansendel spoke thoughtfully: ”Since he’s going to sleep, the believers below surely won’t be saved, might as well take them back and maybe sell Edna for a good price, too?

Look, Edna was still, but once she realized there was a mortal city beneath her, she started moving immediately.

Seems like the energy of the Ningbrow Astrolabe has run out, she’s put away the house.

Hey, is today her birthday?

Young lady.... oh no, she’s a grown woman now... not looking very happy!”

”He dares to sell the Goddess of Magic?” Celene suddenly screamed.

”No...what are you... thinking about?” Lansendel showed rare confusion, ”Aren’t those two guys from Mulholland always following the storm rolling with the Cloud House?

No matter where Edna lands, they can find her!

When I said a good price, I didn’t mean selling.

No matter how cold-blooded Utao is, he wouldn’t directly send his followers to death!

A double-headed baboon wouldn’t kill innocent believers!”

”What do you mean? With fewer than 5000 residents in his Holy City, what can they do? Use their lives to shield Mystra from disaster?

How could Edna let mortals stand in front of her?

There’s no need for them, right?” Celene’s little mouth drooped downwards, she realized she might have said something foolish.

Utao just plans to sleep in the Stellar Realm, to pass through this period of multiple calamities and many enemies... As someone born of the Wild God, he wouldn’t fight to the death for Toril or make war with the visitors from other worlds.

But since he wants to stay in Toril, he can’t completely offend the Weave manager.

If he brings Edna to his Holy City, it’s only so his mere several thousand believers can make a good impression on the new Mystra.

Hmm?

Seems wrong too, Celene tilted her head, thinking it over, still couldn’t understand what exactly Utao wanted.

”You really are...” Shaer glanced at her, suppressing the urge to scold. After all, Celene only acts when her life is at stake, most of the time relying on intuition, ”Do you think that there isn’t anyone left on Toril who doesn’t know that if they survive this catastrophe, Chult will be mine?

Hydra is so big, as long as one’s eyes aren’t blind, anyone can see?

In the eyes of these deities, I and this new Goddess of Magic will certainly clash over the fate of the Weave... Now, who doesn’t know the fate of the Shadow Weave?

Utao truly wants to leave a path for his followers, but also to disgust me.

As long as Edna takes these people under her wing, hmph~ Chult will have a stronghold I can’t occupy?

After all, during the period before Mystra rises into the starry sky, she will undoubtedly be the most powerful deity on Toril Land.

”For those of us with a Divine Kingdom, who would ever send their true form down here... not to mention the consequences of losing in a fight, what if... AO just happens to want to do something?”

”Will Edna accept? Lansendel asked curiously.

”I would like to know too,” Shaer said softly.

Faced with the choice between witnessing the inevitable failure of the Night Ghost Hag’s Deification Ceremony and Edna’s decision, the super photographer of Chult opted for Edna.

After all, what the Undead Tribe captured was not completely invisible, just unclear.

Shaer’s expression appeared calm, but from the rapid leaps of the one facing Aishdo, it was clear she wasn’t as composed as she seemed.

Edna was no longer the little girl who relied on others.

Although she hadn’t yet reclaimed all the Divine Power of the Goddess of Magic, she had absorbed the powerful Primordial Power from the Flame Mountain Range, making her indeed much stronger than Shaer’s incarnation.

No one knew if she could still maintain the friendly attitude towards Shaer shown during that period.

Those who originally judged she was definitely not Mystra’s deity or transcendent because Shaer’s Envoy of the Night was always by her side were now surely watching the current situation with interest.

Would Edna, like Midnight, refuse to coexist with evil?

Even if... Shaer had helped her so much at the beginning of the Path of Destiny, would she still show no mercy when facing faction differences?

Utao’s approach, although disgusting Shaer, was actually beneficial to other deities.

It even allowed them to determine the future direction of Toril.

After all, Edna would definitely be influenced by her past life... Most people didn’t think this little girl’s sixteen-year life would suppress the Goddess of Midnight who had lived for more than a hundred years.

If it were Midnight, the moment she saw Hydra, she would surely accept those primitive deity followers who had defected... She would know who was the mastermind behind her murder.

If that happened, the strange friendly alliance on Snowfall Island would likely fall apart.

Even if the new Mystra later reflected on what happened during this time, by then, the humiliated Shaer would never be able to coexist peacefully with her again.

People knew that while the Goddess of the Night’s character was uncertain in many ways, once she turned hostile, it was a fight to the death.

The large screen finally began to slowly reveal the brown-haired girl wearing a silver-grey Mage Robe and adorned with a full set of starry jewelry.

Her long hair fluttered in the wind that hadn’t completely dissipated, and her expression remained indifferent as she faced a group of kneeling battle professionals clad in various leather outfits.

”What is she holding?” Lansendel asked curiously, ”Is it the flower from her Cloud House?”

”Cyclamen,” Shaer said calmly, ”It’s strange, why is it wrapped in Soul Crystal?”

”Whose soul?” Celene asked in confusion, ”Didn’t she go to Chult by herself? She couldn’t have collected those pieces of Mystra that were sacrificed, could she?”

”You felt it, the Soul Power from Mystra?” Shaer turned her head to look at her.

”What? I was just speaking casually...” Celene suddenly said ’Huh?’, ”Oh? It really is her own Soul Power?

Did she eat something that nourished her soul too much? It overflowed into crystallization?”

Shaer turned to look at her, ”In the future, just observe the results! Do not analyze the process, or it might make people laugh.”

Lansendel disinterestedly flapped his wings, ”It seems she doesn’t intend to accept this group, but she also doesn’t mean to let them die.”

”Hmm?” Shaer turned her head, ”The Undead Tribe moved in...”

”Yes, this city is also a port!” Celene suddenly realized, ”She just needs to have that group of undead who blockaded the coast send these guys to Anmur’s small house~

But, Utao’s followers should also be part of the Evil Faction, right?”

”Those who don’t dare to leave.” Shaer’s tone took on a slight hint of joy, ”Let’s see how they judge.

In any case, they won’t help those two animal heads who really dare to deal with Edna.

What is the Mulholland Pantheon trying to do?

At this point, it’s meaningless to deal with Edna, right?

Do they really think these two useless beasts can kill a powerful ground deity with great Divine Power?”

”Eh?” Celene pointed at the cat-headed creature, ”Something’s wrong! It seems like the uncomfortable shadow I saw at the Pool of Radiance.”

Shaer was suddenly startled, ”It’s the desire hidden in darkness! The Mulholland doesn’t want to kill Edna, enabling Toril to remain chaotic, but rather to entice her into love!

Damn it, this group of... bastards always know how to play this shitty trick!”

Lansendel tilted his head, staring at the cat-shadow that agilely pounced towards Edna... Edna was still cautious, holding the red crystal cyclamen in one hand while waving the other. Several magically-formed large hands started batting the cat like a fly, tossing it around.

”Even if influenced by desire, Edna wouldn’t fall for a cat’s head or a crocodile head, right? I remember last time she mentioned to my female priest she preferred Hill’s appearance!” He couldn’t help mumbling, ”Her aesthetic standards couldn’t possibly drop from Hill to this.”

”Therefore, An He must be in Chult.” Shaer stated firmly.
