Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1366: Chapter 1156: The Dignified Lady and Rouge Mark Meet Again

”Didn’t even Kranvo recognize the beauty?” Shaer calmly asked, ”Cyric is already above standard, right?”

”No... I’m not talking about the person, but the timing!” Lansendel said swaying, ”Just tell me, in all these years has Cyric ever calmed down?

He had only two quiet periods, one when he was locked in the Styx by Jacob, and another when AO put him in prison.

None of those places were ones Shuni could go to.

How did she find the opportunity to hook up with Cyric!

If Cyric could recognize her after just observing for such a short time, then they must have spent a considerable amount of time together!

When, where?

Aren’t you all curious?”

Celene moved uneasily... the sharp and vibrant gaze from her fellow companions, with whom she shared pleasure for so long, made her a bit restless.

She squeezed her thin long dress with both hands and after a while of hesitation said: ”You see, when the Years of Turmoil ended, Cyric chased Mask for a while!

Although he was brewing another plot at that time, Mask’s news could still make him drop everything temporarily.

Mask always liked to disguise himself as some exquisite artworks or particularly refined weapons, or as artists who made these things.

At that time, the Toril people needed resources for living, no matter how beautiful an artwork was, it couldn’t fill the stomach. The nobles felt the same way; they needed enough money to arm themselves... otherwise, the starving commoners would show them some real power.

While in Toril, the Church of Love and Beauty was the only one that wasn’t affected and still provided sponsorship to outstanding artists, even willing to pay extra for such items.

So, although Mask initially hid in some noble’s place, he was still eventually turned over by that noble... He couldn’t resist dreaming or making small moves, and the noble must have suspected something... Anyway, at that time, the Church of Love and Beauty was gathering artworks to rebuild Darren City’s ’Mansion of Fiery Hair’, so anything questionable reaching Fiery Hair wouldn’t be an issue.

After gossip of that sort got out, Cyric could obviously guess who it was.

Coincidentally, a large number of artists were also invited to Darren City.

Cyric disguised himself as a glass ornament artist to sneak in... Shuni’s sanctuaries are mostly divided by glass decorations and then concealed by greenery; they like that kind of faintly discernible feeling... So he had to participate in their love feast and Green Grass Festival under the enthusiastic invitation of some Shuni Followers.

However, at that time, Cyric was solely focused on finding Mask, having no interest in finding a partner at those wild feasts, which gave him a bit of a reputation as being aloof... Naturally, Shuni noticed him.

In Shuni’s words, he was a handsome and cute black-haired boy, appearing so sincere... His eyes only looked at artworks, completely ignoring the various beauties passing by, thus sparking her unyielding interest, leading her to simply disguise herself as a mortal to seduce him.

After a few rounds of back-and-forth, they both weren’t fools, naturally realizing who the other was... But by then the passion had already arisen, and everything couldn’t be stopped.”

”Stop... stop saying.” Shaer helplessly held her forehead, ”It should have been the tenth year after the Years of Turmoil, during the midsummer festival.

No wonder Mask was able to escape from Cyric’s relentless pursuit intact that time.

I remember it very clearly.

Usually, whenever Cyric caught Mask, Mask had to retreat to the Shadow Realm for a while before coming out to cause trouble again.

But only that time, he felt he found a good way to avoid Cyric’s chase, but regrettably, countless times afterward proved that it was just Cyric letting him go for unknown reasons.

Eventually, Mask had to team up with Bane and Valkin.

Because Mask kept cursing that Cyric was deliberately messing with him, so I remember.”

”Later, the two went their separate ways,” Celene spread her hands, ”After all, although Cyric is good at coaxing people, his character is atrocious.

And Shuni couldn’t stand Cyric caring more about Midnight than her... such an unreasonable thing.

Cyric was never one to settle down; being with Shuni for that long meant he was truly captivated, so once Shuni argued with him, Cyric, once sobered, would just disappear.

As you all know, after the Cyrine Scripture came out, the Dark Sun could no longer find any normal feelings, it’s hard for Shuni to relive the past.

So don’t always say why Shuni was blind enough to fancy a ragged black-cloaked skeleton... Shuni only wanted Midnight to be as miserable as she was.”

”If Kranvo got seduced by her... then” Lansendel was very curious.

”Of course it’s a no loss situation, because Kranvo wouldn’t come to her with a skeleton! Right? Isn’t that obvious?” Celene quickly replied.

”I completely cannot understand, nor do I plan to in the future.” Lansendel said with great emotion, ”Thank fate, still remains as the original appearance to me.”

”They’ve met.” Hill looked at the big screen with a numb expression, ”The Shadow Thieves are roasting lizard meat! The setup looks pretty good.”

”Ah~” The beautiful and elegant lady possessed by Shuni suddenly let out a small cry, ”Samaiel~ so you came too!”

A beautiful girl stood quietly by the campfire, the rouge mark on her lips remarkably vivid: ”Petty? Why have you come so late!”

”I heard the others have already reached the mountain peak~”

”There are fewer people on our side, so we’re planning to take it slow.”

Hill quickly surveyed the area, but those Shadow Thieves either wearing masks or disguises were clearly all men.

After all, they were all wearing tight leather armor, and even if some were women... Ah, perhaps with model-like figures, there was still a slight difference.

With the help of nature, Hill could discern that subtle difference.

Then his gaze fixed on two women who were eagerly greeting him... Shuni could descend upon Petty, and Shuni’s partner could certainly transform into Samaiel!

Shuni couldn’t possibly fail to recognize the person before her, given that they were all born from her followers.

The most important thing is, although Rouge Mark always liked to showcase her intelligence before, her relationship with other girls was never close or friendly.

Even a reunion after a long separation couldn’t lead to such an enthusiastic scene.

Although the fact was laid out before him, Hill still stubbornly looked over again... even the Dark Sun Follower accompanying Manks was absent.

”I feel like something is amiss.” Lansendel tilted his head towards the big screen with the touching reunion moment, ”Even if she doesn’t want the Shadow Thieves to notice something’s wrong, she doesn’t need to act so excited, right?

Were these two Quel Senta Mages close before?”

The place where Celene stood was silent, even the sound of skirts swaying was gone.

”As for me~ I have no interest in any position of the Goddess of Magic or any promising future.” Petty leaned on Samaiel’s arm, gently placing her head on her shoulder, ”But I also don’t want to go back home sulking after just one outing.

Still, on the way, I found some new... ideals~”

She giggled charmingly, although she lay on Samaiel, her dazzling eyes were fixed on Heim, who was seriously watching Bane communicating with the Shadow Thieves.

Heim sensed that gaze and looked up... other than his adorable and beautiful girl, the other woman had a sharp look... filled with scrutiny towards him.

He couldn’t help but pull at the corners of his mouth, displaying a smile as friendly as possible.

Though in Heim’s eyes, it might be perceived as Petty’s friend evaluating her heart’s companion, those who were already well aware inside the Floating Castle felt as if they were facing turbulent waves.

”Oh my god~

Shuni, can she somehow avoid disaster like this?” Lansendel exclaimed profoundly, ”She used to say she’d never fancy me, and I was quite indignant!

Now, suddenly I think it’s not so bad.”

Hill couldn’t help but be surprised, was there a past between Lansendel and Shuni like this?

”Are you seriously ill?” Celene earnestly asked, ”In the Pantheon meeting, Shuni played the lover’s game with Heim and Tom and failed, wasn’t it your doing?

Even publicly asking Tom, how it felt to be compared with Heim?

What could they do?

Originally those two had a normal relationship, and from then it turned directly into cold and vaguely hostile.

Yet you still went to ask why Shuni didn’t fancy you!

She didn’t fight you back then, that’s already quite broad-minded!”

”But after I left the Star Hall, I was ambushed!” Lansendel complained, ”And it wasn’t just one!”

Nonsense!

Celene rolled her eyes dramatically, deciding to give up communicating with Lansendel.

Although she often acts recklessly, Celene feels she’s still human... while the Sun Peacock was already worse than pigs and dogs.

”Are those two planning to unite?” Shaer didn’t want to hear those past nonsense anymore, directly steering the off-track conversation back to the right path.

”Shuni just wants to sleep with Heim, she wouldn’t care about what Cyric wants to do!” Celene answered softly.

”Heim’s concern is only about what happens after Dandell emerges, maybe giving some help to the current Mystra, if he can brush the relationship from hatred to cold it’d be best.

If not, he’ll fight Dandell... saving the world, regain a bit of reputation lost because of aiding Colonists.” Lansendel quickly replied, ”What Cyric wants has no conflict at all.

After all, Cyric just wants destruction, how to resolve things after the destruction isn’t his concern for the moment.”
