Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1363: Chapter 1153: Shuni and Heim

Hill smiled nonchalantly: ”He doesn’t want to provoke the Undead Tribe, so he must shout the slogans loudly.

For him, the current situation isn’t too bad.

Although he suppressed Sel’s ambitions, he has enough time to sort out the internal struggles.”

It’s better than being forced by those necromancers of Sel, who think they’re invincible, to sweep across most of the Ferun Great Land.

If it were the early stages of the Magicplague without the Undead Tribe, most Mages would be dumbfounded, apart from those who could summon the undead without using the Weave.

Coupled with the dark Undead Canopy bestowed by Bane on the Sel Necromancy School and their longtime nemesis retreating, it’s no wonder they would swell to such a degree.

The result was Sazzastan could no longer maintain his invincible state...once the major Mages got used to the highly volatile Weave, who would really fear a bunch of skeletons?

Wanting to be a nation that cannot die requires a huge price to be paid.

Otherwise, Sazzastan wouldn’t have gone mad enough to sacrifice all the deities’ Chosen... the sacrifices of the God of Suffering and Cyric were barely understandable, but he even sacrificed Lansendel’s Chosen!

The end result was getting directly sent by Tom to the Crystal Wall to atone, which is only natural.

Because of the Undead Tribe’s appearance, Sazzastan could no longer sweep the world with his undead army... What are tens of thousands of skeletons in front of the Undead Tribe?

Now Sel hesitates again and again to make a move against the neighbor... Otherwise, why would Xinbu not be guarding his own country to prevent sudden attacks from a longstanding enemy?

At least Sel remains a nation bordered by cliffs and precipices, and Harua hasn’t suddenly become the strongest nation of Archmages.

If talking about pure high-end combat power, Harua is indeed stronger than Sel... but their location makes their influence on Ferun Great Land rather illusory.

In certain respect, a widely known strong nation is definitely not as frightening as the second strongest right next door.

The reason those Archmages in Harua have shifted their gaze to Chult actually relates to these factors... they were supposed to aid those countries against the invading Land of Necromancy, then revive by the Goddess of Magic’s grace, the dead sent to Josse Garden, and the survivors became anchors for the Weave.

The anchors were ignited with Silverfire, so even though they can’t wield the Weave’s power like the Chosen, their lives are tied to the Weave... they no longer feel time slipping away from them.

But Sel didn’t move.

The fervor in the prophecies-fired hearts of Harua’s Archmages naturally turned to Edna’s Path of Destiny.

Hill figured out the source of this difference only after seeing Sazzastan’s display.

Since then, he stopped muttering about why Harua would be so foolish... they were actually benefiting from following their original fate, which was the result of so many years of Harua’s observation of the river of fate.

But Hill, who came crashing in from another world with the Undead Tribe behind him, all exist outside of destiny.

So from the start, Harua bet on an already obsolete key point.

It all comes down to him again.

Hill indeed saved many people, but he also dug quite a few pits for others... but with William by his side, he felt no guilt, for William’s impact was far greater than his own.

Anyway, the Toril people didn’t know what the original destiny was... even the one who knew never experienced a path of destiny without unexpected events; otherwise, the stone tablets wouldn’t be constantly breaking and reforming.

However, Hill admired that God Above Gods, AO, who remained unwavering in the face of the unexpected: the Tablets of Fate are likely frantically rubbing now... erasing the old text, creating new stories.

No wonder all the schemes and plots of the God of Destiny, Safras, are laid bare before Edna. This time, the Tablets of Fate are likely to produce quite a few shards, enough to create a few Gods of Destiny to speak for him.

Hill looked up at the huge screen, seeing trees already tilting and birds startled in the forest west of the Flame Mountain Range... the Anmur Navy, and the followers of Heim and Valkin, are also about to arrive.

Everyone on the other three sides is actually waiting for them to arrive.

The situation seems on the brink of erupting, but just thinking about Edna watching the drama from above the drifting white clouds over Chult Coast gives an absurd feeling.

Now on the Path of Destiny, the intended protagonists and supporting roles are watching the play, only the cannon fodder suddenly turns over to perform a swan song with their lives.

”Shuni...” Celene’s voice carried a tinge of lament, ”Why be so foolish?”

”Hmm?” Lansendel’s spirit instantly became invigorated, ”Where is Shuni?”

Celene shook her head: ”There’s something odd about that Mystra in Heim’s troupe.”

Celene spent enough time with Shuni to recognize her friend’s demeanor with a single look at the woman’s gesturing.

”Shuni’s ambition shouldn’t be enough to want to replace Mystra, right?” Shaer hesitated for a moment, asking with a bewildered look, ”She never liked to take on responsibility—being the Goddess of Magic shouldn’t be lived the way she does.

Creating a closely related Goddess of Magic is one thing, but ascending herself... I don’t think Lady Fiery Hair...”

”It has nothing to do with ambition! Heim must also be in that group.” Celene clutched the hair in front of her with both hands, saying in despair, ”Tom and Heim have always been on her list of romantic pursuits.

She flirted with Tom to the point that the Red Knight almost attacked her Divine Kingdom and reluctantly gave up... yet claimed they would inevitably break up because of that unpredictable father-in-law. By then, the Red Knight would just have to watch her and Tom’s passionate and romantic life.

Tampas almost gave her a slap, and that’s a Tampas who never conflicts with the Toril Gods!

Heim... Heim has always been nostalgic about his former lover and has rejected her many times.

Shuni is relentlessly persistent—she says Heim is just pretending to be innocent.

Sooner or later, the day will come when she has that guy kneeling under her skirt.”

Lansendel suddenly collapsed on the floor, his paws twitching frantically as if struck by electric shock: he had laughed himself into madness.

Shaer quietly straightened up, looking incredulously at her sister as she even summoned her Sphere of Night Magic to circle around her... possibly suspecting she’s under some hallucinatory magic.

Can people say such things or do such deeds?

Ah... that’s right, neither of them is human.

Hill blinked, raised his glass, and drank the full, icy durian milkshake in one gulp.

The taste matched his mood perfectly—though odd, it was pretty good.

This serious, potentially world-ending Path of Destiny unexpectedly stalls here and bizarrely begins to play out a ’romantic fervor’ light comedy.

If the protagonist is Shuni, it isn’t so surprising.

No wonder AO chose her follower... rather than having one of her followers become the future Goddess of Magic, Lady Fiery Hair seems more keen on inviting Heim to her bed.

If Heim doesn’t get involved, she might still let her followers strive for a better future for her... but when seduced by male beauty, followers can just be tossed aside~

So, the Toril’s various schemes and intrigues always suddenly gallop to an incredible outcome, no wonder the masterminds behind it aren’t powerless.

There’s always someone quirky making an entrance.

When a quirky person rises to powerful Divine Power, what happens next is anyone’s guess.

”Shaer!” Lansendel quickly flipped over, ”What are you sitting there for? Quick! What’s the point of staring at Flame Mountain Range?

What is the apocalypse even? Toril comes around periodically anyway!

Shuni and Heim’s romantic comedy is what’s worth watching!

Oh, the Undead Tribe can record this continuously, right?”

He turned to Hill and said lightly yet firmly, ”Hill, can we set up a giant screen below Dawn Tower outside Agleya?

It doesn’t matter how much it costs~

As long as I can repeatedly watch this Path of Destiny... I feel I won’t cause trouble for at least 1000 years!

Is there any day possibly more lively and fun than this?

Even if the Tablets of Fate recreated it, there wouldn’t be this much fun!”

Though he speaks the truth... Shuni actually was always this way, but if it weren’t for the Path of Destiny, Heim wouldn’t let her demonstrate those little tricks.

But now before him stands a pitiable yet adorable, self-respecting yet strong Quel Senta Female Mage, not the Lady Fiery Hair with countless admirers.

If Cyric can achieve it, why can’t Shuni?

Not liking dominant women, always yearning for his lover like a dew drop in the morning light, Heim not playing along... can almost be zero.

Although Shaer was silent, Hill’s mouth twitched watching the scenery rapidly advancing on the giant screen, even Aishdo’s cameraman using Shadow Jump told everyone about Shaer’s final decision.
